  • In this video, I show how to replace the standard halogen H7 bulbs with LED units from Auxito, in my 2001 VW Golf. Auxito was nice enough to send me these bulbs to review and I hope that it benefits you. The results are amazing! I love the 6500K color, which really helps brighten the roadway at night. The light isn't too powerful that oncoming traffic is blinded either. I hope that you like this video. Thanks for watching!

    Hi, there is a kind of a heavy flash that occurs when the lights are switched on.
    Thank you for the video and for filming very clearly and next to where the things happen.

      Yes, when the ignition is switched on, the lights flash for a split second for some reason. Thank you for the comment.

    All you need now is a set of micro led foglight kit that fit in the bumper and you all set.

    I definitely need these in my 2003 Mk4 with 45k

      Only 45k?!?! That's really low mileage. I'm happy with the headlights so far and I think you will be too. Make sure to use the link in the description if you decide to purchase them. Thank you!

    Good upgrade to the dip beam light, but I have to ask, why remove the metal seat that the new LED bulb came with in the kit to fit inside the headlamp first, why not just fit the new LED bulb as it is in the box. ..

    • @Corysdiyauto
      @Corysdiyauto  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You have to install the metal seat first, because you won't be able to swing the retaining clip over top of the LED housing. The cooling fan at the rear is larger than the retaining clip.

    Why do you prefer led over xenon,? I'm wanting to put xenon in my mk4 gti. Would like to hear an alternative opinion

    • @Corysdiyauto
      @Corysdiyauto  ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer LED lights because they last longer and burn cooler than Xenon lights do. They use less energy as well.

    They are not road legal in Europe, I would consider having them anyway, but are they not blinding the oncoming traffic?

    • @Corysdiyauto
      @Corysdiyauto  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are not blinding to oncoming traffic. I never have had anyone flash their high beams at me.

    There is a very very very special place in the bowels of hell for the engineers whom design VW headlight assemblies and their cockamamie electrical connector buffoonery!

    does it not fog the light. I bought some other led h7. And after a short trip of 30 km the hole light fogged up. But when I put the halogen light back. It got back to normal.

      @Corysdiyauto  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No fogging issues at all.

    You should have at least slipped off the plastic battery cover to give a touch more room. How are they holding up regarding the extra heat produced

    • @Corysdiyauto
      @Corysdiyauto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually did take the battery cover off later in the video. The lights are holding up well so far without any issues.

    I really need your help guys 😕
    My LEDS are touching the reflector cap in front of the low beam (the led bulbs are a bit too long)
    Should I cut the cap or shield i don't know what it is called off? Or you guys have a fix? Thanks

    Which LED do you recommend for the main beam bulb?

    • @Corysdiyauto
      @Corysdiyauto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 12,000 lumen H7 style is the one that I reviewed in the video. I'm very pleased with it's performance and I highly recommend it.

    • @Corysdiyauto

      It's probably not legal since it's an aftermarket LED headlight bulb. What country are you from?

      @Swemist 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Corysdiyauto Sweden,...the ban applies to the low beam. If the car is rebuilt with level control and it is approved in a reg inspection,it is allowed.

      @@Swemist - That's interesting, so what about the high beam?

    • @Swemist
      @Swemist 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Corysdiyauto No such rules for high beam..It is also possible to mount some extra lights if you want..The probleme is precisely that many cars have poor low beam and nothing else is allowed to shine at the same time.

    • @Swemist
      @Swemist 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many also drive with the fog lights on togheter with the low beam to get a little better light.(And many younger people who thinks its looks cool) ..But the Police do not like that "type of crime" and the fines are quite heavy...If you are unlucky the car must also be inspected.

    Are you allowed on street whith led bulbs? In Romania you can't run with led,whithout projectors lens.I have a Golf 4 too.If police catch me whith led,I remain whithout car certificate.I hope you understand my poor english.

      There's not a problem here my area in the United States with the LED bulbs. It's sounds like it's really strict in Romania. Your English is fine. I understood you perfectly.
