- This video shows how to remove and install a new low beam headlight bulb on the passenger side in a 2001 Volkswagen Golf mk4. I used a Sylvania H7 basic bulb.

Cory, this is by far the best video on changing the low beam. Many other videos show this job with the headlight housing out of the car and they make it look easy, but who the hell pulls the headlight housing ?!
How you did this job why holding a camera is beyond me, just a great job.
BakerOne - Thanks bud. It was a challenge to do this while holding the camera for sure!

Many thanks Cory, you are an excellent teacher. I was watching your video with my 10 years son, he was exited and asked me to add "every one is happy because of you".
Abdullah Deif - Thank you very much. That brings a smile to my face 😊
best mk4 healdight bulb replacement video on youtube. i've seen 5 different videos so far all useless. thank you!!
crosshair - Thank you!
Best vid yet. Gave up on mine last night after a spot of cursing! Will try again later with your clear instructions 👍🏻🤞🏻
Nick Walton - I hope that you can get it. Just be patient!
Hi. Looks straight forward. Had a mate removing both bulbs but I will need to reinstall them. Surely with your video there shouldn't be a problem. I'll let you know anyway.
Thanks and good luck!
This is the best video for how to replace the headlight bulb. Thanks for the video. I have viewed others but it involved removing the front grill and bumper. Not so practical. I have to do my friend's golf and this is the way I am going to go.
Heriberto R Montalvo - Thank you!
Thanks !! Greetings from Spain !!
Thanks for watching!
Driver's side is the major PITA. It does help to learn technique by doing passenger's side - and this video does a great job.
Driver's side is hard because battery is in way. It's doable, but easier if you remove battery.
flatonia - Yes you're right about that! Removing the battery makes it much easier.
perfect , a model video for clarity of instruction and video quality. thank you very much.
Mehrdad100 - Thank you!
Brilliant. What a help! Thanks so much. Saved my day.
Glad I could help.
You're a legend, friend. Thank you!
Great video, I used this and changed the bulb on the passenger side.. Access wasn't very good as I didn't take out the battery.
Very helpful, thanks! Greetings from Poland :)
You're welcome! Thank you.
I agree with Mehrdad 100 %. Thank you very much.
Very informative and a great help
Thank you
Best video out there! Could you make one changing the drivers side low beam too? That side has a whole different covering. Thanks so much!
Carlie H. - It's a little bit different on that side and it's tight without removing the battery. I can make a video on that at some point. Thanks for watching!
Carlie H. - I got around to making a video of the driver's side low beam removal and install. I hope this helps you! th-cam.com/video/cbRQaZGGDBA/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! Did it without an issue!

Nikolaj Angelov - Excellent!

Thanks!!!
You're welcome Filip!
Does anyone know where I can get the retaining clip that holds the low-beam bulb? WITHOUT GETTING ASSAULTED? Found this online store but they want almost $20 for each clip, and I need both sides. I tried a couple junkyards around my area but it's hard to find my model-year GOLF
Maybe check eBay?
Hello, i it , but ths light was very very weak, a weak orange, not even big light, what should i do
I would replace the bulbs with LEDs. Check out this other video: th-cam.com/video/b9yP715Z2zU/w-d-xo.html
Odabrao si lakšu stranu, zasto nisi objasnio i drugu stranu ispred akumulatora lp.
I have a video of that process as well: th-cam.com/video/cbRQaZGGDBA/w-d-xo.html
@@Corysdiyauto Hvala vam, prezadovoljan sam sa vašim objašnjenjem.Lp
Thank you!
A kako malo poziciono svetlo to je već komplikovano
It's definitely in a tight spot.
There is no way to get the hand in there on the passenger side due to the battery. And to pull the light out means pulling the bumper off. Any ideas
Nature Dad Blog - You can do it without removing the battery or the bumper. Just remove the plastic piece that surrounds the battery. This should give you enough room to get in there. If not, then battery removal will be necessary. Good luck with it!
@@Corysdiyauto wondering if there's a larger battery in mine because I did that already
@@naturedadblog7041 - That's a good possibility. I would just remove the battery then. It's a dumb set up, but that's what you have to do. You'll have plenty of room then.
Everything is nice and easy until the high beam burns out and you gotta change it haha
It’s so easy you can literally do it with one hand lol

BILL5N13 - I just went in the garage and looked for you....the part number is 1J0 805 965.
@@Corysdiyauto thank you very much for your help to be well you saved me i was looking for it everywhere
These cars have the worse headlight set ups I’ve ever seen.. never again I’ll I buy a vw... they make it near impossible to put leds or hid in the car so you have to buy directly from them.. after all these years there no H7 led or hid kit that will just plug and play.. I have a 2006 rabbit and it has this stupid ass bulb adapter the bulb plugs into and then you have turn it into the socket and make contact with the 2 metal prongs on each side of the adapter to the 2 metal connections in the light socket... I’ve tried multiple adapters and nothing works .. only led I got in the car are the city lights which are stupid lights in the 1st place.. but I had to get led bulbs with canbus built in but they blueish and now I have white and blue and amber lights on my headlights
Thanks !!
