Silovs struggles with long range shots and it showed tonight. It’s only the first game of the season, but lots of things need to be cleaned up asap. The sooner Demko comebacks the better. Got a single point, but very easily should’ve been two if the Canucks played a full 60 minutes.

I cant temember the last time i saw a more brutal momentum shift than how it changed after that Miller hit.

you have to play exhibition games with your regulars. This is why its so scrambly. Games and practices are different. No exhibition practice has been a problem for the past 5 years. You guys should know better.

Oh fuck off it's one game lol. Look at the list of teams with their stats out long term because of a pre season injury. Our MGMT group does know better.

Pretty much went the way i thought it would go. The pleasant surprise is the chemistry is definitely there with all the new players coming in. I expected poor goal tending (Silovs is unproven in the regular season work, and a back up is not a starter, this team really needs Demko early in the season but ain't getting that) and poor structural execution for the first dozen games. The big question for me was there going to be any chemistry? Thankfully they answered that question with a resounding yes. The other questions remain, Demko and Petey and their health and performance once they both get into games. Petey didn't look as sore as he did in the playoffs so that is a bit of a positive note but clearly still sore and effecting his play due to thinking. The new comers showed how this team can be a juggernaut once they get healthy and learn and execute the structure properly. For me i see the results of the game disappointing but not surprising, yet very encouraging as to the clear chemistry they already have. I am way more optimistic about the season now that i have seen what this team looks like on the ice when it matters. They still managed a point even after a dismal blown lead and disjointed effort. When you pick up a point it really doesn't hurt that much in the end, you are not really falling behind that much with a point. Definitely a fun game, i sure enjoyed it.

It frustrates me that Hughes is the captain, when CLEARLY JT is the true leader..just a last minute goal, and Gordie Howe hat trick

JT is for sure a leader in the group... But it was Hughes who passed the puck to him to get that goal, and while I love Miller as a player I think he's a bit too hot headed to be captain.
