There is something so magical about seeing someone's first reaction to something I love, whether it's books or movies or music. I've been thinking of rereading the series and have recently been getting tons of recommendations for Harry Potter content on TH-cam, which I'm gonna take as a sign. Especially since this is possibly the most recent one TH-cam has shown me so it's not like it's all everyone is talking about right now.
idk if anyone already answered that future Tom question....but... He looks like past Tom because thats when it was created (the diary) but it is horocrux, so Tom in the diary is actually part of Voldemort, part of his soul...so he is somehow connected with his current self ...i hope it makes sense, english is not my first language :D
My biggest peeve with the movies is how they did Ron & Ginny so dirty. Both are such different characters in the books. For instance there's no doubt what Ron's value in the trio is in the books. They made Snape much more sympathetic in the movies. In the books Snape was a jerk and a bully. Unfortunately a LOT is left out or changed from the books starting with the 4th one. Missing characters like Dobby, Winky and Ludo Bagman.
Yeeees! I'm doing this same thing and watching bits of your video as I go through the books and movies. My BIGGEST pet peeve of the whole book-to-movie thing is the iconic "You're a wizard, Harry" difference!! So fun to feel like I'm doing this along with you!
I started reading the books and rewatching the movies a months ago. So far I'm reading goblet of fire. been a fan of the movies since birth but I must admit the books are so much better I love the details within it.
Been a fan of Harry Potter movies and love the books. I was, I think, reading the first book in my old elementary school in the 90's, I was born in 1992, and had watched the first movie many times, like one hundred times because I loved it. I have all eight movies in DVD and all seven books and read them all. The first book in paperback, the second, third, and forth ones in illustrated editions and fifth, sixth, and seventh books in hardbacks. I even had a huge, major crush on Daniel Radcliffe who played Harry in all eight films and I use to have all pics and posters of him all over my wall. I still love the characters and creatures and the world til this day and I'm 31 and still love them all.
The world has been brought to life in such an extraordinary way that makes people from all ages love it immensely! I love seeing 50 year olds obsessed with the world while seeing 5 year olds starting to learn about it! I hope it never goes away😊
The problem with Snapes character in the movie is that he is far too nice. You are supposed have doubts is he on Dumbledoor's side or really Voldamorts that is why snape doesn't jump in front of The kids to protect them and was unconscious in the book. They ruined Snapes character in the movies
ooh I could see how that would be frustrating! I look forward to finishing the series and having the book-movie comparison. I don’t think I’ve ever read the final 3 books, but have watched the movies millions of times
Funnily enough I thought the opposite because he is supposed to be a spy and has to keep a cool head. In the books he is waaaay too reckless and lets his emotions rule over his actions, despite having SUCH an important job in being a double agent. Being a double agent requires such control over your emotions. That is why I prefer movie Snape as an agent would be cool and calm as opposed to the anger her shows in the books
That was fun! It's a little crazy how when you compare the books to the movie you notice there is a LOT cut or slightly changed. But the movies stand so well on their own it doesn't matter! Idk if it's nostalgia but I honestly don't know if I have a preference (books or movies). The cast is so amazing and the music score is just perfect. It'll be interesting if you compare Deathly Hallows. I think it's a great ending but I find myself not watching/reading it as much as the others. It's probably due to the fact that I'm just drawn more towards the overall vibe and atmosphere of the world/hogwarts than the plot itself if that makes sense😆
Yes! The world the movies were able to expand in so many people’s lives is extraordinary! The books started everything and there is always appreciation for that, but the movies and the Universal parks make is so special.. allowing us muggles to live in that world for the day😊 There will definitely be a part two where I read the rest! My mom always text me asking about it, I can’t let her down😂
@@jaycie_ No that's so adorable she asks about! Btw I completely forgot, if you haven't read/seen ''The Martian'' (by Andy Weir) that could be a ton of fun to compare. It's probably one of the best book to movie adaptations I've seen.
@@jaycie_ Add ''Project Hail Mary'' to your lists as well. There's no adaptation (yet) but it's a super fun read. Not as hard sci-fi as The Martian but still worth checking out if you end up enjoying that one😊
I am honestly happy that I watched the movies before reading the books because I couldn't imagine the characters well and I’d be so disappointed watching the movies for the first time reading the books since it’s different and some good moments and characters as peeves wouldn’t be there too much I also remembered when you said you just love Harry Potter and how it makes you comfortable sometimes after having a hard day and now it’s night and you just sit and watch it again it feels like Hogwarts is welcoming you as welcome back home
They actually DID film ALL the scenes for Peeves for the first movie, with Rik Mayall doing the part. Only in the end they cut him out. Why, we don't know but one theory is it would have made the movie too long.
@jaycie_ I know! I would have LOVED to see those scenes! Even if just in some cut scenes on the internet somewhere. Instead they were just trashed! If I was Rik, I would have said "well, if you're gonna cut my scenes like that, at least let ME have them to keep." Even if he had to sign a contract not to sell elease them. He'd have a peice of lost history there!
They only filmed a few scenes with him they cut him bc he was making all the child actors laugh so much they couldn't get their scenes done or at least that's what I've heard
Loving this video! So cozy 😊 I have a random question. I've always known it as the Philosophers stone and I know they changed the book title to Sorcerers stone or vice versa, but with the movies did they have to film separate scenes to say the different names? or did they dub it or something? This is probably a dumb question 😂
I found it enjoyable to watch them after reading each book but it’s definitely up to you if you want to watch the movies all together after finishing the series!
It's so interesting seeing someone's reactions to Harry Potter. Don't know if you have, but I would recommend Super Carlin Brothers, and HarryPotterTheory. For explaining anything in detail, or really explaining the differences in detail, to compare to what you found.
@jaycie_ they also do, "what if" scenarios which are awesome! And highly recommend Super Carlin Bros - Dumbledore's big plan. If you're interested in that kinda stuff
I just have to tell you guys. I just want to deck The Dursleys so bad. They were horrible to their Nephew and Cousin, Harry Potter! I just want to deck them and just go to town on them! You know what I mean?
I really miss being about to lay around and just read harry potter haha but I'm now 33 have a partner and 2 children i dont have enough time to sit and read my kids are too noisy for me to read anyway 😂
Fun! I love both the books & movies. I try to not get hung up over the differences but I do have a big problem with Half Blood Prince but I’ll save it for part 2 which I hope you do. I think diary Voldy knows about future Voldy because it’s a piece of his current soul in there (horcrux) so it’s sentient and alive. In Cambers book, Arthur doesn’t lose his job but he does get a huge fine I think and the important thing about Harry ending up in Borgin and Burkes is that he hides in a the vanishing cabinet that plays an important role in book 6 🪄✨
Love love love your comment! Thank you for taking the time to write it! There will definitely be a part 2! I’m just a mood reader and part 2 will take me a minimum of two weeks to film so I’ve been procrastinating 🙈
Serious question. Why do you like Harry Potter? I have never understood why people enjoy it let alone actually think it's good. The world building alone destroys the entire experience for me.
I feel like i personally like it BECAUSE of the heavy detailed world building. Its easily immersive and it just allows my imagination to strive. Its all about what you like in a series. Its not for everyone

@@jaycie_ for sure. Have you heard about the series that should premier in 2026? It's supposed to be more faithful to the books.
I have heard about it but I’m nervous because of how much the original cast have been engrained in my heart🙈
Also, “Seriously Voldemort, GET A HOBBY.” 😂😂😂💀 Dead.
listen..😅 these grown men are soooo embarrassing themselves with 12-14 year olds haha

I always thought peeves would have added so much comedy to the movies. Kinda sad he isn’t in any of them.
RIGHT??? give that man a speaking part!😅
That was the problem, none of the kids could stop laughing when around Rik Mayall (RIP) so they had to cut him.
