That first shot in front of the bridge is one of the best shots of any Crime film I’ve ever watched, heck, probably any film. If this film deserved any award, it was Best Cinematography for Tonino Delli Colli
One of the most overlooked master shots n scene in cinema history. So cold how bugsy JAMES RUSSO chillingly walks to kill a child. A true western. I believe Russo did this and BEVERLY HILLS COP in the same year.
Talk about The Godfather or GoodFellas being the best gangster films all you want. Sure they’re great, but THIS film is the one that has real characters. Broken futures, friendships, and when betrayal hits, it’s harder than any other gangster flick because this film is about relationships, regret, and the passing of time above all else. Easily one of the best films ever made.
The film is Sergio Leone's masterpiece. It really does not depict the gangster world imagined by people, but the reality. Following human life through its best and worst.👏
We might be talking about the greatest movie ever. Although being a gangster movie it surpasses that. It's about people, about humanity. It shows that if we lose that part we might as well be gone.

if this film deserved any award, it would be many awards
you can find this shot again in One Eight Seven(1997) opening scene.
All the child actors were amazing (and resembled very much their adult versions).
Noodles, I slipped,It makes my eyes wet every time
NOODLES İ SLİPPED 😢😢😢😢
Slipped right into a bullet.lol

If this movie is more known nowadays no doubt that this scene will become a meme

Am I the only one who enjoyed the first half more than the second?
Bruh I watched the entire ~5 hour version in one sitting and its been downhill ever since. Absolute masterpiece
@@Sa7biUK was there even a 5 hour version, tho? The most I could find is 4 hours and 11 minutes
@20thcenturyobsessionist people say there is like 12 hours of footage. Id peep
He slipped by leaving the pack. Getting to excited over the money. And being singled out. Always stay focused. Climbing the ladder is a dangerous game
Nah, he was the first to warn the group. He only slipped because he kept running in the open.
He slipped because he didn't have a gun to defend himself.Slipping is Street slang for not having you're gun on you.
The women: Look at the makeup I just got from the store
The men:
Well I'm a woman so...

I don't like it to happen. 人在異鄉似別客,苦難中受離亦苦;若要比較永難分,回家雖少離別苦。
Out of this! Take care of protect it.
Although a very masterful and intense scene, I gotta say that crooked cops are the worst. Satisfying.
noodle 是歐英的發聲,膽子也是很大的,就像朋友永遠伴隨一般;時好時壞
THIS ISN'T ABOUT PASTA
So sad
Project building in the background is kind of funny, I guess they thought the Projects were around in the 1920s? Funny!!
Yup, they built those projects just for this scene cause they didn't know any better
Holy shit I never noticed that, amazing considering Leone was a notorious perfectionist
Wow, but this was during World war I in 1917 or 1918 right? it’s been since since I’ve seen this movie haha. But yes you are right about the projects
NYC Projects weren’t built until the 1950s/1960s. NYCHA Didn’t even exist yet. I think you Found a Movie Mistake My Friends
