Thank you, very informative. Currently suffering with ‘hangover’ like symptoms after exercise. 10 months post concussion incident. Not very nice !

That was the clearest explanation I have found. I was disbelieved by all the medical professionals I saw. All!

Believe it or not, i am recovering from a brain injury after being prescribed and cold turkeyed off of benzodiazepines. I have not been able to do anything more than light walking in over 7 years. Even most forms of yoga completely mess me up and ill be bedridden for a week. It makes me so sad.

I took a hit to the head 2 months ago. Was recovering pretty well, exercising daily, but still had some headaches. Went to get a massage and every since then I've experienced blunted affect/cognition, exercise intolerance and feeling like I can't access my sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous system at all. I feel very relaxed, but not really motivated to do much and the little exercise I do doesn't really energize me anymore.

Does this indicate a neck problem?

I’m confused. I have POTS (Dysautonomia) and exercise intolerance, but, was always told that my exercise intolerance was from low blood volume and not getting enough blood to the brain. This made sense since I would get horrible headaches after exercise and my shoulders and neck would be in knots. How is there too much blood flow?
Also, what do we do about it?

True POTS is its own separate thing from concussion. When I say that there's increased blood flow, it's because, after a concussion, there's an increased CO2 sensitivity leading to vasodilation and increased flow. However, in POTS you may have low blood volume (hypovolemic), excess norepinephrine (hyperadrenergic), and/or poor sympathetic innervation in the legs (neuropathic). Each of these scenarios can increase HR without necessarily increasing flow (rather, it's just an effort to maintain flow). In POTS, a "Levine Protocol," a several-month cardiovascular and resistance training progression, has shown good success in folks.

I have exercise intolerance and had chronic fatigue, burn out and a conclusion, how do i know if brain damage is the reason?
