    I actually have one. I put about 75 bucks into it and some old SD pickups I had. It plays awesome. I set it up myself. I have been playing for over 42 years. These guitars are a steal for the money. Just be prepared to put a little money into it. Like 75 bucks. This guy is hilarious. No disrespect.wanna sell it?

      @Megablaster Boc there's no mystery or mystique about playing on scalloped necks. I bounce to and fro between scalloped and non-scalloped all the time - no biggie.
      Just need to train your ear and adjust finger pressure accordingly.
      (Been playing 45+ years).

      @@kevinmcguinness1113 There's no mystery for you or me because we have experience playing on them and know how to approach them. For someone who's never played on one such as your standard *blues player it's very likely that they would tend to be too heavy handed. Of course it varies with the player and the way they approach the guitar. I play on on standard and scalloped necks as well and it's no biggie for me!

    Years ago I got a
    “Ching-vey” and it actually didn’t play that bad … but I had to swap in an extra set of HS-3’s that I had lying around as well as a YJM 250 Speed Vol pot. I also threw on Fender locking tuners. So overall it wasn’t bad , but at least I wouldn’t freak out if my kids smacked it around. Lol

    Your mileage will vary. I bought a similar one...(sort of) and it seems to be much better, although it is not a real Yngwie Strat, it is very playable and it sounds great. I bought mine a few years ago just to see what kind of quality it was. I expected nothing more than a wall decoration or a smash guitar. If it was playable I would be able to make a decent guitar out of it by changing the pickups and electronics...but mine sounds so good I haven't bothered. My first impressions though wasn't good. It wouldn't stay in tune...but after changing strings and doing a proper setup it stays in tune very well -even after doing some wild tremolo work. Mine has 21 frets, only one string tree, very tight neck pocket, no text on the pickups...(there are some other details that are a bit off -which is a good thing IMO. it is just aesthetics and nothing that affects the playability).

    That was 4 years ago, I own 15 electric guitars 3 of them are very fine Gretsch guitars so I am sort of spoiled playing great guitars since 1957, Recently for fun I bought 2 guitars from Aliexpress and They sound and play very good, The intonation was right on and all I did was install new strings, Both guitars are keepers, The " Firefly" guitar I play a lot also the finish on both guitars is flawless, By the way to guys that are testing the sounds of guitars here on TH-cam, Please don't add a bunch of fuzz and other effects and say it sounds good or bad ! The guitar sound should be tested with NO effects otherwise it is not the true sound of the guitar

    While I wouldn’t condone buying ripoff guitars myself, I did buy one second hand that was already in the states and while the thing did play like crap and sounded like shit, with a few adjustments to the neck and a decent set of dimarzios and a good setup job(I also shaved all the decals off and re lacquered the neck) sthe thing played in the ball park of lower PRS and fender quality guitars but no longer like shit. The lesson here is it’s the player that can make the most awful instruments sound good and a little elbow grease to get what you want. I’ve seen people take low end cort and squiers that sound horrendous and make them very appealing. I also thought it was a good buy as I hadn’t tried playing a scalloped neck before and knew it wasn’t for everyone so I didn’t want to spend $1,200-$2,000 to try something I may of never even played more than a few times. There’s another lesson here. You don’t like it, take the time and experience and go out and build your own make of it as opposed to buying a counterfeit. You learn something, have fun doing it and do it for the fraction of the cost of what the real thing cost because let’s face it, having Fender and Yngwie’s name on the headstock just inflated a guitar that was -$600-$700 to build in parts up to $1,300 because you know........branding.

    Hello, I don't understand what you're saying! I have this one guitar and for me its excellent, it doesn't go out of tune, the hardware is cheap but functional, and if you change the cables, pots, etc..and the whole thing is made of quality parts, it will also be much cheaper than the original, which is $2000 and up in my country, The size is adequate in the body, mine has good sustain and it came to me with 21 frets like the original! The pickups are cheap ceramic, they are noisy but you can change them. In conclusion, I have the opposite opinion to you, I got an excellent guitar, greetings and thanks.

    • @BoogyWoogyCreep
      @BoogyWoogyCreep  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The market isn't accepting enough for scalloped necks that why you'll only find the Malmsteen Stratocaster with those kinds of scallops. The general guitar population doesn't like nor know how to play them so guitar companies are not going to produce something that doesn't sell.

  • @markkasick
    @markkasick 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I was given a very similar guitar, surf green. Same painted skunk stripe, maple neck . Visually same "noiseless" PUs (I actually think they sound pretty good). The headstock on mine looks similar shape wise but has the spaghetti logo. The thing I cannot un-look and I see it on yours is the headstock is just way too long . Look at the distance between the low E tuner and the nut. It's WAY longer than any Strat I've ever seen, more like a Gibson . The nut is plastic, cut okay but basically sharp and unfinished. Fret ends also. The jack plug plate is mal - formed or just wrong so the cored sticks up and blocks the Trem arm. The string trees are identical (garbage) to yours but not as crooked. The Bridge saddles look funky too. The tuners are really awful. Though as long as you don't so much as even look at the Trem arm, it sorta stays in tune long enough that it you can tell it sounds okay. Mine actually sounds really Strat-like, jangly. very distinctive . If you did all the work yourself , maybe $100 in parts would fix this thing. If you had a luthier do it, for sure you could buy a better guitar off the shelf. I am going to sand off all the logos, try my hand at scalloping the neck (big Blackmore fan), go for therapy to get by the weird headstock.

It took a month or two to arrive at my home, I knew I'd have to replace parts and put in some work but I didn't want to spend $2k on a Fender YJM, So the chinese guitar was about $180, I fixed a few high frets, replaced and cut a new TUSC nut, I tried a new brass nut but it ruined my nut files. I installed a new Seymour Duncan YJM loaded pickguard, replaced the cheap bridge and block, installed locking tuners, did a proper setup and it's a real player. I think where people go wrong is, they think a $180 chinese guitar will play the same as a $2k US-made guitar, you have to be prepared to put in some work to make it play properly. It's not all that hard to do, maybe a weekend worth of work and you're good-to-go.

    You would probably be better off buying a blonde ash body for like $150 and a 70's spec scalloped neck for $200 and the loaded pickguard .05 shim brass nut and all the correct hardware and decals for another $500 or so (last i checked these were going for like $1800 so you could still save a bit on labor if you have some tools). It would take some time but i built a very nice evh Frankenstein strat last year with a proper 84 reissue floyd rose, it took me 6 months to get all the gear together and get the paint job done but I find the process cathartic and the final guitar is very special when i pull it out and hit an A chord 300 people come out of nowhere and start raging its totally unreal.

    You really rush though one of the most important points here and I don't really have time to wait and see if it's brought up again later, but people need to know: THESE GET CAUGHT AT CUSTOMS ALL OF THE TIME. When they see it's coming from China and it's a guitar, they are going to open the package. When they see it's a counterfeit, they WILL destroy it. So now your thousands of dollars savings just became a waste of hundreds. Don't be stupid.

    poor packaging so goods turn up damaged, I've only won a couple of disputes wit them, sure a few orders went to plan but I don't & recommend not to deal with anyone on that site.
