Scrapper was my very first childhood Transformer in a Hasbro toy form. And I love this MS version as a welcome upgrade in transformation and better proportions. And the OG Scrapper presented here hits my inner kid days. 🥰🥰
I still remembered the day that one of my friends brought G1 Devastator to school, and how I went CRAZY. So since the age of 9, I wanted a perfect set of Constructicon, and this set is getting me closer to that wow moment over 30 years ago.
First of all, I am shocked that the G1 toy is even smaller than the Legends Scale figure. I'm surprised that you thought the articulation wasn't as good as action figures. Besides a butterfly joint, I think this toy has every joint you would want. The joints that exist also has a great range too. I also bought MP 33 after watching your video. It came today. I love it! Thanks man!
Glad the video helped! Seeing the new MP Trailbreaker announcement, I think they are reverting back a little bit to be more like MP33, the 2.5 design, so good choice, they are trendy again! When we were kids, everything was bigger, and that's why we find some G1 toys smaller now. Compare to action figures, most transformers don't have the joint in the torso / chest area, which is very helpful for some natural poses, but mixmaster does have one, he's coming right up.
This set is what me got me started on the legend scale. And now I've got about the same figures you have reviewed. All very amazing! The combined Devastator is IMO the best looking combiner period.
Agreed, Aaron, a very impressive Devastator, even though I am very late getting this set, but I just love it so much so I started this massive review project to review them all, and each of them is worth a spotlight review.
I love the MS Constructicons, the engineering is a-plus, not for the impatient collectors though. If you've got the patience for transforming the complete crew into Devastator, then you'll definitely be rewarded. The single bots look fantastic, tons of posing options. Word of advice: every tab needs to be secured. There won't be any problems if you do this, like some people will say. Devy is rock solid if you take your time. Watch Perfect Transformation or Golden Zhen on TH-cam for guidance. Have fun!
Another great vid. Can't wait to see the full set, plus I've heard great things about NA Hephastus as well. Will be interesting to see if you can compare them eventually.
As good as this Scrapper is (been eyeing the MS Devastator), the video set is also really cool! I especially love the green lighting and the 'talking' base in the intro. Looks super cool!
I love the molded detail he has. He’s not as strict to g1 as Megatron or Optimus was, which I think was a good thing. I do kinda wish the shoulders were tires imo, but if what you say about it being devastation inspired is true, then it’s totally forgiven.
Hi Just wanted to let you know, did you got me into collecting magic square 😊 Was wondering what is these led boxes you use to shot your videos. And are we getting a new video for more exclusives 😮
@@slappyfun yea most reviews say they are amazing except in combine more. Things untab easily and it becomes a mess quickly. I want to get them but that's what keeps me from getting it
@@angryangel If you get it, and have the patience especially the first time, to overcome the struggle to get everything properly tabbed in, it's pretty solid and poseable. And if you're willing to transform it more than once, it gets easier and actually enjoyable. It is true though that one knee is looser than the other and i wish that was better toleranced. But I don't regret it. Full disclosure, I love both individual bot modes and combined mode but too lazy so i got 2 sets.
STOP IT. Just stop… I’m already feeling tempted by some of the Legends+ figures, I don’t need you convincing me to buy more… I think you perfectly nail what it is that attracts me to these toys: They don’t take up much space, are a quick joy to convert, and are increasingly becoming the definitive version of the characters. Every day I hope New Age or Magic Square (or both) announces a Tracks! Great review, as always. Script wise, only a couple of things jumped out at me, though I want to emphasize that you still communicate all your points excellently - there are other reviewers who only speak English but have less mastery of it than you. “So there’s almost no other kibbles, unlike other Scrapper figures, rather than just the giant loader.” Kibble is collective noun - it’s already plural, no S needed. ‘Bucket’ would be the more correct word choice over ‘loader.’ ‘Other’ would work better than ‘rather,’ and flipping the order around would make the sentence stronger: “Unlike other Scrapper figures, there’s almost no other kibble, other than the giant bucket.” Of course, now the word ‘other’ shows up three times… -:sigh:- Who said writing was easy? “Unlike other Scrapper figures, he’s almost kibble free - ignoring his giant bucket.” The only other bit that hit me funny was “delicacy.” It took me a moment to realize what you word you meant from pronunciation, and I’m not sure it’s quite what you meant. It tends to be more synonymous with fragility, and these figures seem robust. Perhaps “because it’s very small, the detail on this figure is all the more impressive?” Seriously, though, great review. I didn’t even realize these guys were so accurate to the game until I saw your comparison.
Hi Mike, I can't thank you enough, you're the best! And the mistakes I made are not even something grammarly could spot, that's just extremely helpful, it's like having my essay reviewed in English class, I can't imagine how many more times I would use the word kibble in the wrong way without this, and my audiences don't have to bear with it more than they should. I am actually taking my time expanding my active vocabulary, because I often find myself 'ran out of words', like the example delicacy, it even sounds strange to me, and I just have to find a way to allocate more time on scripting, vs the amount of work editing videos. And for a collection of legend scale figures, I never really thought that I would actually start it. I used to think they are not 'serious' enough, most of them are just novelties, but the situation really changed, The Transformers line is not the main business of either Hasbro or Takara Tomy, but it is the only business of most 3rd party companies, and that makes a huge difference, and it's part of the reason why official products often leave fans dissatisfied, but 3rd party companies are always improving. A new wave of Magic Square products are coming, and they are even better, please stay tuned for an exclusive premiere next week.
@@OptimusLegends Exclusive premiere? Awesome and congrats! It’s been incredible watching the 3rd party Transformers market mature. Only a decade ago all we got were accessories, many of which seemed to be made entirely out of the wrong materials. Now there are offerings that compete with and sometimes exceed the official offerings - especially at the smaller sizes. It’s nice to know that should Takara Tomy and Hasbro ever give up on Transformers, we’ll still have an extensive selection of products to pick from for as long as we’re willing to buy them.
So I got mine and this one is a poor vehicle mode. Wheels are badly made and the rear wheels are just blah. It takes a while to get them down right. Robot mode is good
@@OptimusLegends over all it's a good figure. Couple of loose joints but nothing that can't be fixed. I ended up figuring out how to fix the wheels so it's good now. I can't wait for the rest to arrive. I'm excited
