Awhile ago a dev from 2k said it'll be as close to Sim as it can be without being labeled a sim.. madden is arcade. Anything 2k puts out if has the passion of its past work it'll be way better than madden. Then madden will actually have to put effort into their game again and come up with new ideas and step their game up. So then we could possibly have 2 good football games.

I also think if they’re being forced to add the arcade stuff they should go all out w it the other game looked like fun and would be way better if more money was put into it, it had real teams/uniforms and it had a real sim engine at its core
Why is 2K so obsessed with the NFL license? Just give us a generic football game like All-Pro Football 2K8! As long as the gameplay is solid and the modes are deep, it'll sell!
AP2k8 didn't sell well at all. Football gaming isn't the biggest space, and without a big license it will have a very low ceiling in terms of sales. Casual players want to play with the teams and players they see on tv.
Facts thats what i was thinking. Just do everything as if it would be a NFL licensed teams and just replace it with generic teams. Folks want to customize everything anyway.

While I think this would be a great thing to do as an audition to the NFL as a viable sim alternative, they’d essentially have to make that game for free before release, and even then isn’t guaranteed good sales. UFL doesn’t have the kind of pull the NFL does in the market and 2K would only be doing itself a disservice to put that kinda development into a game almost guaranteed to fail.

I wonder if the game could end up being a flag football game. The NFL has really embraced flag football recently. In fact, the pro bowl is based around it. Maybe they could even call the game NFL Pro Bowl. They could even include mini games based on the skills competition. It would allow for representation of both NFL players and teams without being a simulation of the actual game, but at the same time, it would allow real player models and physics. Heck, flag football is even going to be part of the Olympics. Just an idea.
