Saw them in Dallas last September. Drove up from Houston. They were fantastic and well worth the drive.

That call and response section is one of my favorite things I've seen in music. It's so great to see them having so much fun too smiling and enjoying all of it.

You have no idea of what you got yourself into. Simply the best rock band on the planet right now.

Drove 369 miles each way from Sacramento to LA to see the best hard rock band on the planet today and it turned out that wasn't much. In line on Glendale l met folks from Seattle, Phoenix, Texas and NYC. I know Dave was there and he flew in from Australia via New Zealand. My little trip to SoCal was just a walk down the block. Band-Maid fans are passionate, hardcore and dedicated to a level l haven't seen since the Grateful Dead and the Deadheads. There is a very good reason why. A big part of the appeal is Miku, the band's founder, rhythm guitarist and main lyricist, and how she engages the audience during "magic time". Band-Maid interacts with their audience in a way few bands do. Miku talks to you and not at you. They are first and foremost a live band. If you haven't seen them live you simply haven't seen them. A belated Happy Birthday to Kabato Miku on the 21st of October. You are the modern day John Lennon of Japan's emergence as a hot bed of various genres of modern rock music. Love Band-Maid to death.

Fortunately I'm just down in San Diego, so it didn't bust the budget to drive up and see BAND-MAID at the Echoplex on September 30th and stay over for the show on October 1st.
I drove up last year for their first Los Angeles show.
It's not an exaggeration to say that they are the best Hard Rock band on the scene right now.
I came back up a week and a half later for BABYMETAL.
There's no way I was going to miss their first arena show in the USA.
If you've seen any of their past three official music videos, that concert at the LA Forum had the same level of production.
A couple of the best weeks ever.
⋛⋋( ‘Θ’)⋌⋚ And Happy Birthday Miku!

      @ Rick Wagner
I was at the Echoplex on September 30th. Caught the Who and Liam Gallagher at the Chase Center in San Francisco and then Korn, Tool and Babymetal at Aftershock in my backyard here in Sacramento. As a result l have a much improved opinion of Babymetal. I use to hold them to a Band-Maid standard of being a home grown band and not a corporate manufacturered construct but, while true, l was wrong. Not everyone gets to choose how or even why you break into "show business". After seeing Babymetal live on the 13th of October l found the show professional and entertaining. While they would never supplant Band-Maid as my preference l was unduly harsh and that was wrong. For what they do those three young ladies are good at it and well worth the price of admission. So, l stand corrected. Regards from Sacramento.

I was there at the Echoplex 9-30. I got last minute VIP ticket. Got a chance to meet these talented young ladies. It was great to see how they react with the audience being in a small venue. Love their music, performance and their personalities. I came from Seattle to see them and I would do it again.

The only Winner in that Battle was the audience. For another Battle check out 'Take Me Higher'. Yes, they were here, in Big D, last month, and they were awesome! Go and see them, next tour! They won't be in small places for long.

Band-Maid performs in small venues so that they can be mire up and personal with their Masters and Princesses, as you can see they serve an awesome dish!

about 2500 capacity for that venue.. i think that's on the larger end for BAND-MAID. couple of the US shows had a capacity of 250.. can't really compare since it's homeland vs international.. but.. 250!! hope everyone bought a t-shirt
BAND-MAID live is a damn fun time.. none of em are fluent in English(they do try), but the engagement with the audience is a highlight. the performance is high energy from start to finish.. 20+ songs for a typical live show.. no opener, no encore.
gonna suggest Puzzle ( th-cam.com/video/3OuO0pgCBUo/w-d-xo.html ) next.. because 1. it's awesome; 2. then i can suggest the acoustic version next

1700 saw them over the two days at the Echoplex. But here is the thing: there was no advertising at all. The marquee at the Echoplex was empty. There were no flyers or posters about the event and except for word of mouth and/or social media no one could possibly know that there was even a show going on. Up on Sunset which is an overpass above Glendale sits the Echo which is the other part of the facility and there was one very small hand made sign that simply said Band-Maid. No date, no time and again, if you did not know you would not know. When folks came to the Echoplex they came for Band-Maid, obviously. Babymetal, whom l have a much better opinion of having seen them at Aftershock on October 13th, received the benefit of poster and radio advertising and people went to the three days of Aftershock to see many different bands like Tool and Korn. I don't think we can say much about these two different type "showcases" for presenting yourself to the public at large. And l will also say that truth be told the only thing Band-Maid and Babymetal have in common is both come from Japan and both play or are associated with a different genre of modern day rock music.

Nice reaction! sorry you missed them in LA. You asked if anybody saw them lied this year. Since you asked, I'll tell you: I went to all five of their USA gigs. 2 in New York, 1 in Dallas, two in LA. They killed at the opening show in New York, and only got better each time. I strongly recommend that like me after missing them one time don't let it happen to you again! 😝
They are every bit as good as you see them in this video and very connected to the crowd.

Kanami's PRS retired soon after being flogged so hard that night. It is now on display in the thrash HOF.

@@DavidMISAMISAMISACook I had a funny feeling that you were Australian because of some of the things that you have said. Let's hope that one day Band Maid come to us. I take every opportunity to tell people about him but have only met one other person that already knew about them. I hope you are bringing some footage of your trip that you intend to post. Going to America to see a band (and other stuff) might get people interested.
