- As I get closer to race day, one of my biggest focuses is going to be dialing in my nutrition strategy and testing different ways to go about it. In this video, I go over that and have a few big workouts!

You should try electrolyte pills. Very easy to tailor and carry during training and racing. Definitely give that a go. Enjoying the new format of your videos and nice to have more content for indoor training. Keep it up!
Great video! Thank you for sharing your nutrition strategies. Much appreciated
Good stuff, Keep up the great work
Nuun is a great electrolyte mix without much sugar
Might be a good pairing
Have you thought about seperating your carbs and electrolytes, so you can up the electrolytes/carbs if needed. Ive had all carbs in one bottle for the ride slighlty watered down so it flows (although PF&H do a flow gel now) and then water bottles with electrlytes in you can pick up on course and drop in the tabs. Great to see all the testing 👍
I’ve thought about it but curious how you would keep so many bottles on you during race? Would you keep electrolytes in packets and pick up water bottles along course? I just want to make sure I don’t have to slow down and stop to put them in bottle. I actually just ordered the flow gel form PF&H and it gets here this week so excited to try. Going to keep testing different strategies and see which works best over the next few weeks. Especially as I start riding outside more!
@@ashtontris I kept 2 bottles behind saddle with fluids and one on down tube with carbs. I picked up bottles at aid station and dropped a electrolytes tab in on the go. Took bit of practice but is one option. You can also get front mounted hydration which make things even easier.
You are using ERG mode on the indoor right? So if you use it doing your long sessions when you focus on elevation. But the ride is locked at lets say 175 watts. You really dont get the feeling of riding in hills. It just gets you slower pace. Just incase you havnt thought about it. Maybe i miss remember. I juet remember you saying you use ERG
I use ERG mode only when I am doing workouts with intervals etc. When doing long freestyle rides, I ride with ERG mode off so I can get the full effect of riding the hills and elevation will be based on where I’m at on the Zwift course.
What type of trainer do you use? Keep kicking ass!
Zwift hub one!
Do you mind sharing what saddle and bibs you are using? You do so much indoor training as a heavier guy and never heard you complain about saddle sores or chafing. Im having trouble sitting on my bike for more than one hour 😅
The bib I use of from Specialized! The padding is great
Good quality bibs good saddle and chamois cream
Do you have a run belt for the run?
I do not, I just put gels in pockets of my shorts
Question. Did you feel the earthquake 10 days ago ?
I unfortunately did not! I was actually on a subway when it happened so wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference because of how shaky the subway is to begin with but have friends who felt it
@@ashtontrisi live in Brooklyn and it was a bit scary. Anyways, awesome channel 💪🏻
