Love, love this video. Your items are simply wonderful. Thank you for all the information regarding the crayons and how different ways they can be applied. 10 stars.
These are awesome Nina. I totally enjoyed watching this. A great video tutorial with LOTS of tips and techniques. Pinned this for future reference! Thanks so much for sharing!
I hope this helps someone. I found a bunch of small canvas pieces to stamp on at Walmart, right where the have all the are supplies. They were on a bottom shelf. Really cute sizes like 2x2 and 3x3 so just perfect for this sort of project, and they were very flat, so they could be easily mailed in a bubble mailer.
Just completed Creative Chemistry 103 with Tim Holtz. While the Distress Crayons do "dry" they are a water reactive medium and will rewet and move if you move them around with a brush or your finger. Different than the paints that will stay put once dry even when you apply water and attempt to manipulate them.
I really enjoyed 103; hope you did too. I'd encourage you to go back and look at Day 4, both Jennifer McGuire and Tim covered them as a useful medium for resisting (which is only possible if they don't reactivate).
I did re-watch before commenting and they do make a great resist if you do not move them around with something. He commented later, maybe during Chat that he was trying hard to find something that would actually seal the crayons so they would be permanent and totally waterproof. Just don't want anyone to find out the hard way that they can be made to move again with water.
I'm new to this... a little confused when you did the blue (peacock) color for background... it looked like the dog was blue as well, but then he was back to normal.. what happened in between ? thx! loved the video :)
this is by far the most helpful display of watercolor w/distress crayons.

Wauwww, amazing!!!!!!
I love love your projects. The little dog canvas is super cute. What did you use after the project was finished to darken up the outline of the dog?
i wonder if you can use both the distress crayons as the distress markers when coloring a stamped image, because I only own one set of the crayons...
