Just gotta say, and I know it's not just me - you make SOOOO many of us feel better about our purchases when you freely admit that you've had your Gamsol kit sitting around untried for "3 years...maybe 4?" Phew. Thankful hugs from Maine.
My bedroom is full of acrylic, bunches of mica powders, alcohol inks and molds. Wanna do tye dye? I got you covered. Dyes, shirts, masks, socks, etc. Oh, you like jewelry making? Got that stuff too. Acrylic paints? Got them, silicone and canvases. Please don’t get me started with anything else! Though your excitement over Gamsol and colored pencils is SO tempting. 😊
Beautiful creation Cathy! I'm gonna have to break out my gamsol too! My, how times have changed hey? Your little anecdote about left-handedness made me smile, and I love that you "fought back". One of my favorite stories of all time is when my mother was a child the teachers at school told her she could not use her dominant left hand. She was so upset. She went home for lunch and her dad, who had the same experience as your dad, just got this protective, loving look on his face after she told him what was going on. He said, "don't you worry about a thing my sweet Betty, daddy will be back. Enjoy your lunch." Off he went. Not too long after he came back and said to my mom, "now sweetheart, you go right ahead and use your left hand to do your school work. There's nothing to worry about. The teachers understand now." What I wouldn't give to have been a fly on the wall for THAT conversation!!! 🤣 Thanks for the great inspiration, and starting off my day with a favorite memory. Have a great day Cathy!!! 🥰
Yes, I've used Gamsol before (like you, thanks to GinaK). One thing I remember was that Gina recommended sitting your stumps in the gamsol for awhile so it can absorb more of it. Since your coloring was on the minimalist side, it probably wouldn't have made a difference. But when using more color, having a well soaked stump helps. Also, the sandpaper helps to give your blending stump a sharper point, as well.
I've wanted to do watercolor for years but never had the courage to try it. You have inspired me, much to the distress of my bank account! Prismacolor pencils, Gamasol, an empty blending brush pen, watercolor paper, and a set of stamps are on the way! I live out in the boonies in the middle of MO so I have to order everything unless I want to drive 200 miles (roundtrip) so it will be a few days before I can give this a go but you have inspired me to take the plunge! Thank you for being real for all of us. Plain and simple, you rock!
Great job on your maiden Gamsol voyage! I, too, was influenced by Gina K years ago & took the Gamsol plunge. I don’t use the stumps, because someone (I can’t recall whom) showed how to use an empty Tim Holtz alcohol marker (I got mine on Amazon) to put the Gamsol in. You just scribble on a scrap to clean the tip when changing colors. My only other tip is that Gamsol will bleed through to the back of your cardstock, so experiment with thickness of your cardstock before using Gamsol directly on a card base. Have fun! Thanks for sharing! 😊❤️
Seeeee - I just viewed a post on Instagram artist using Gamsol on wood cut after stamping with lawn fawn, then color pencil, it was a thing a beauty. It's in the air at the moment. Thank for taking time to post video. Yay for being bright enough to purchase good materials and hooray for "finding" them at the most opportune time! Sometimes we just need time to catch up to our own creativity - (at least that's how I'm justifying shopping my years old stash this coming year!)
I purchased Gamsol after watching Gina K. I have tried it and love it. So grateful for those of you willing to teach. You do a wonderful job and I love your card. Thank you Cathy.
Yay! Your joy in sharing is so fun! Pencil-coloring is one of my favorites. I prefer to blend with the pencils themselves when I have lots of time and sometimes with a colorless blender pencil. But, I’ve used Gamsol for years with various brands of colored pencils. It makes quick & fun work of the coloring & gives a nice water-colory look. Always fun to change things up & revisit our supplies, though! I giggled at the sound of the paper stump on the paper - it doesn’t bother me but some feel it’s like nails on a chalkboard. Lol. Thanks for sharing your venture into Gamsol with colored pencils! ♥️
I love using Gamsol with my colored pencils. I tried it first a few years ago and was as excited as you are. This card is adorable and your excitement is contagious. Thanks for a fun and simple video, Cathy!
Yes, bought my gamsol about 1 year ago and it is still sitting on top of the cabinet, unopened. Gina did and now you have inspired me, thank you. I like your card. You make it look easy.
I have bought the kit and every time I see Gina use it, I remember that I need to try it. Now, you are making me remember! Thanks! It made the envelope look puffy,,,very cute!!
I too purchased Gamsol after watching a Gina video! She made it look so easy, and so did you. I’ve used it a handful of times and basically forgot about it. I also need to get my sticklers out and use them too! What a cute card!
You have learned your lessons well!! That's a very sweet card that anyone would be proud to receive! I have used Gamsol when ever I color with pencils. I love it.
Ok first your fingernails today are gorgeous darling, just gorgeous! 😻 Then your coloring is very nice and I am so glad to see you do the same thing many of us do, we see something online, buy the components to do the technique and three years later it is still not open! I think this summer will be a gambol time for me, looks like fun. Thanks so much for sharing and taking time to teach us.
Every time I see Gina use gamsol, I promise myself I will try it. But now that you have used it for the first time, and it still looks good, I am feeling a bit more confident. Thanks so much for your "never have I ever" segment on gamsol! I will be watching for more from you.
Found you be accident, but loved your video. You are so positive and motivating. I’ve subscribed and looking forward to more of your honest, real, style. Enjoyed your tutorial so much😊❤cat x
I never feel like I get enough from my colored pencils. This is going to take me to the next level! Thanks so much, Cathy Z...I appreciate you and your fun self!
I love how relatable this is. We buy craft supplies with such excitement, then other things get in the way or take priority and we find ourselves finding those supplies again months and years later unused. Very inspired by this. Also, add to cart. 😂
I love prismacolor pencils because they lay down such a nice color. Gamsol is amazing and can make even the worst coloring be beautiful. Don’t forget you have two ends to use on the stumps. 😃
Bravo Cathy, you are so brave and the card is wonderful. I've got a ton of colored pencils I never use, and I want to use them with gamsol every time I see Gina K. do it. Thanks for making it look easy, now I have to try it! Ordering with your link...
Oh my gosh, you're so like me. I bought Gamsol eons ago and never have I ever used it. I think I might get it out now, you inspired me. It sure helps to take the lines out of the colored pencils. Loved the card, so cute.
I do have Gamsol. I took colored pencil classes where the instructor showed us how to use it. That was several years ago. The scrapbook store that offered these classes went out of business quite a while ago and I miss it, but I did learn a lot there. I don't have any tips for you. I think you did very well on your own. Gina is a fabulous teacher.
I love it when you make your little “so cute” noises. 😂 And it really is so adorable and simple! I’ve never used Gamsol and have been wondering about it, so thank you! ❤
I have used Gamsol just recently and I love it. If I would have used it earlier in my card making days I probably would have saved a lot of money and refrained from buying copics. I really like how easy it is to use colored pencils with gamsol instead of alcohol markers. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Hi Cathy! I am loving this technique. I do have colored pencils, but I do not use them often. I will get some gamsol and try it! Thanks for taking us along on ur journey with a new technique😊
Love it. Ive just got some gamsol ... keep looking at it, will try it probably after Christmas when i have more time to learn and play. Thank you for all your inspiration
Just like you, I am greatly inspired by Gina K. And I also have Gamsol that I’ve had for multiple years after watching Gina use it. Now you’ve inspired me to get out my blending stumps and give it a try.
Way to go Cathy. I too have had Gambol sitting on my desk as well. I bought the stumps etc... and it has just sat there. Maybe now I will use your motivation and find myself a way to get going. It is a lovely little card. Happy Holidays.
I keep a small jar with 2 makeup wedge sponges that I pour gamsol on periodically on my studio table at all times. I personally feel that the sponges work better than having a container of the liquid on my desk.
Very neat card, I bought a bottle of Gamsol, but was unable to get the little stubby pencils, I was also intrigued watching Gina K. on her channel. I will keep looking for the blender pencils. Thank You.
I always use it with my colored pencils, I’ve actually just purchased alcohol markers and I’m just learning to use them. But I’ve been a colored pencil user for like 20years! For me you can really shade your picture lots of blending. I hope this doesn’t offend anyone sometimes money is tight and this tip was given to me by a demonstrator at a stamp convention in Arizona, odorless paint thinner is basically the same thing and you get at-least twice the amount! I love your channel
I got such a kick out of hearing you say "look, I'm doing it, it actually looks like I know what I'm doing". It is such a turn on to all of us when we try something new and it looks tremendous. Welcome to the world of pencils and Gamsol blending. So glad you like it , it will change your world. You may even stop using alcohol ink pens.
I have had Gamsol and all the things for a few years too, but have never used them. This video made me feel so much better about breaking out the Gamsol & giving it a try! Thanks!
Lol! This morning I watched Gina blending with Gamsol and was inspired. Went to a nearby store, bought some and came home. Then I saw some folks advising not to use it due to safety concerns. And now I have watched you! Going to give it a try.
l have never tried it either...lol, but l have some orders coming this week, can't wait to try it. Thanks for sharing...l just loved how easy you made it look.
Your card came out so cute. I love this series. I had Gamsol for years and didn't use, got rid of it, then watched Gina again and bought more. Still haven't used it. LOL. I really need to give it a try.
SAME! Even in the 70’s they tried to make us lefties into righties! I hold my pencil “correctly” and don’t have a hook, but my writing surface is at a complete 45 degree angle in front of me. Teachers always straightened my paper to the “correct” and proper angle and my elbow would jam into my ribs. ANYWAY, I love coloring in coloring books, but I’m intimidated as hell to color my stamps so I stick to layered stamps. Oh and colored pencils (I have every type imaginable!) are my favorite coloring/drawing medium!
Gamsol is fantastic! I've been using gamsol with colored pencils for about 11-12yrs. No chemical oder. Its a game changer. Love it! Vikings fan here! Even my very tiny chihuahuas that can't maintain body heat because of tiny size, each have a Vikings fleece blankets just like mine. See you soon Cathy!
Love the card Cathy! I have used Prisma colored pencils with a Decorative Painting group in the past 10 years on a couple of projects. Wish our chapter was still in existence. Conventions have gone by the wayside. It was a BIG business back in the 90s when I used to go. Last one I went to was in 2015 and now National Convention no longer exists. 😢. It’s been since that year that I had the colored pencil experience with our local chapter. I only have enough of the pencils to do those two specific projects. Would love to get the whole set and then YT artists that use them to gain better knowledge of them. Need to get those pencils out now and use them on cards. Never gave it a thought to use on cards! Not even sure if I have Gamsol here! Now have to look and see. The card is adorable! TFS!!
I bought a bottle of Gamsol too after watching Gina K! It's probably been close to a year since I brought it home. I haven't used it yet, but will now!
I’ve used Gamsol for over 10 years but could not tolerate the sound of the paper stubs so learned to use small paint brushes and get great results! Love your creativity! ❤
I started using gamsol many years ago…long before I ever heard of Gina K (or you)! I love coloring that way! Your video made me want to dig my stuff out and have at it again!
Ok Cathy, I’m so darn proud of you. Lol I have Gamsol that I have never used either for yrs. You gave me the confidence to give this a go❤❤. CONGRATULATIONS for giving us the encouragement to try new things. Your the best Cathy, really 😊. Once I recover from Covid (5 wks) 🤦🏻♀️ I’m putting this back on my GOT TO TRY. Great video ⛄️. Oh the snowman is a real cutie too. Gayle😷🤒😞
I’m a Gina K Gamsol girl, but I just saw a video from Simon Hurley putting some in an empty alcohol blending pen to color with instead of stumps. I want to try that!
Wait what? you have never tried Stickles before either? Did I hear that right? You again did amazing with the stickles too. I am so proud of you for trying new Crafty things. Yes I have used Gamsol many times and a few times in my channel. I love the affect on water color paper too which I got the idea from Lisa Hetrick too. I can't wait to see your video on Lunar paste next. I have almost every color of Lunar paste except one. But I love them.
I have tried Gamsol and love the effect it gives to my projects. I don't use it enough though thanks, for the reminder I should take it out and use it again. Absouletly adorable card. I want to try coloring an embossing folder image with colored pencil and gamsol.
Great job, Cathy! Gina got me into using Gamsol - I have Prismacolor pencils and they work great, too. "It makes you look like you know what you're doing." - I'm not great at coloring but her words are true! :) Thanks for your video, it was fun to watch your outcome. And diamond Stickles are my favorite!!
Just gotta say, and I know it's not just me - you make SOOOO many of us feel better about our purchases when you freely admit that you've had your Gamsol kit sitting around untried for "3 years...maybe 4?" Phew. Thankful hugs from Maine.
I tell you what: moving your crafty stuff shows you ALL the things that are just sitting around!
I love these new “Never Have I Ever” series! They capture exactly what we all go through with our new products! So fun to watch.
Aww, love your enthusiasm and comments. They're so heartwarming. ☺️

Hi. I have really enjoyed using pencils and Gamsol ever since I saw Gina K using them some time ago. Thanks for sharing your cute little snowman card.
Adorable! Nice work on the Gamsol coloring. Gina K. would be proud.
I like watching people use Gamsol. You have a great style. It's so good to get many perspectives that inspire! Thank you Cathy Z.
Thank you so much!
I’m addicted to Gamsol and colored penciles. Learned from the best : Gina K! My favorite project was an entirely black rose. It was breathtaking.
I purchased Gamsol after watching Gina K. I have tried it and love it. So grateful for those of you willing to teach. You do a wonderful job and I love your card. Thank you Cathy.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who has had Gamsol and stumps for years unused. A project for 2023.
I have bought the kit and every time I see Gina use it, I remember that I need to try it. Now, you are making me remember! Thanks! It made the envelope look puffy,,,very cute!!

🥰 Adorable!!! Love how the colours, glitter & embossing subtly but at the same time boldly make this whole design come together. 🙂
Yes, I have used Gamsol on a stamped flower and I loved it. It turned out so beautiful. Love the snowman card.
Yes I’ve used Gamsol and yes, Gina K inspired me to. I’ve been watching her since the days of the Carol Duval show.
I have tried Gamsol and you are right it is so much fun. You have a lot of control on how much colour goes down or not. It is also very relaxing
Adorable, Cathy!❤ You made Mrs. Gina K. very proud!😊
Wow. The fun things I learn on TH-cam. I’ve never heard of Gamsol. Thank you. 🙏
So happy to watch this. I have items that I saw that I "had" to purchase and then just sit around. Thank you for all your inspirations.
You have learned your lessons well!! That's a very sweet card that anyone would be proud to receive! I have used Gamsol when ever I color with pencils. I love it.
I've had gamsol in my Amazon cart for ages. I've been too afraid to actually try it until now. Thank you for taking the fear out of trying new things!
I am loving these tutorials on the coloring aspect of card making. Will go watch the ladies that you have mentioned as well.
Ok first your fingernails today are gorgeous darling, just gorgeous! 😻 Then your coloring is very nice and I am so glad to see you do the same thing many of us do, we see something online, buy the components to do the technique and three years later it is still not open! This is AWESOME!! I have my dad's old artists pencils and now I know I will be able to use them. Thank you so much; stay awesome!!!
Thanks for watching!
Yes, this inspires me to try Gamsol. Never heard of it before. So fun.
I have had pencils and Gamsol before I found Gina K. Seeing her use it just confirms I was supposed to buy them.
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!
Yes, got ALL these things b/c if Gina K!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Never have I ever ... what a great new CZ offering! You rock it, Lady!
Every time I see Gina use gamsol, I promise myself I will try it. But now that you have used it for the first time, and it still looks good, I am feeling a bit more confident. Thanks so much for your "never have I ever" segment on gamsol! I will be watching for more from you.
Wow!! I've never heard of Gamsol before, what a great product! Your little snowman is adorable! 💕
Going to give it a try. Thanks to Gina and you
I also have Gamsol and pencils and have not used them. I love what you did, you are so adorable!!!!!
Love using Gamsol with colored pencils. Can’t wait to see your creations!
Found you be accident, but loved your video. You are so positive and motivating. I’ve subscribed and looking forward to more of your honest, real, style. Enjoyed your tutorial so much😊❤cat x
Thank you!!!
@@czdesign You are most welcome 😀❤
You just make me smile!!! And I too have Gamsol because of Gina K and think I just might have to drag it out!!!
I never feel like I get enough from my colored pencils. This is going to take me to the next level! Thanks so much, Cathy Z...I appreciate you and your fun self!
Have fun!
I love how relatable this is. We buy craft supplies with such excitement, then other things get in the way or take priority and we find ourselves finding those supplies again months and years later unused. Very inspired by this. Also, add to cart. 😂
YES! I would love to see you play!!!
Cathy, love ❤️ such a sweet card....thank you so much for sharing!
I love prismacolor pencils because they lay down such a nice color. Gamsol is amazing and can make even the worst coloring be beautiful. Don’t forget you have two ends to use on the stumps. 😃
Yes I have used gamsol. Yes inspired by Gina K. I'm still a beginner like you. It's fun to do, not as intimidating as markers. Cute card!
Bravo Cathy, you are so brave and the card is wonderful. I've got a ton of colored pencils I never use, and I want to use them with gamsol every time I see Gina K. do it. Thanks for making it look easy, now I have to try it! Ordering with your link...
Thank you!
Great job with Gamsol and Stickles. Love Stickles. I enjoy working with Gamsol and have used it on many of Gina K’s floral stamps. 🥰
Have been a fan of Gina for many years. Love coloring with pencils and gamsol.
Oh my gosh, you're so like me. I bought Gamsol eons ago and never have I ever used it. I think I might get it out now, you inspired me. It sure helps to take the lines out of the colored pencils. Loved the card, so cute.

Well, you’ve just opened a whole new world for me, thanks.
I too was introduced and inspired by Gina. Use it frequently….it’s amazing stuff! Very cute for first time 😊
Hi Cathy! I am loving this technique. I do have colored pencils, but I do not use them often. I will get some gamsol and try it! Thanks for taking us along on ur journey with a new technique😊
What a great concept. Never have I ever..... Thank you
Love it. Ive just got some gamsol ... keep looking at it, will try it probably after Christmas when i have more time to learn and play. Thank you for all your inspiration

I used Gamsol many years ago. I still have the metal can of Gamsol I got at Dick Blick art supplies! You are doing great!
I might just go crazy for this Gamsol stuff.👍👏👏👏
I keep a small jar with 2 makeup wedge sponges that I pour gamsol on periodically on my studio table at all times. I personally feel that the sponges work better than having a container of the liquid on my desk.
I saw a hint of putting a cotton ball in the jar you dip into, and it will help with spillage and evaporation. Loved what you made, so adorable
I use colored pencils a lot, but have never used them with Gamsol. Will have to give it a try after watching your video. Very cute card!
Love your card! And thx again 4 the firm brush tip, ordered 2 of them 4 my make up, but.. Will use 1 for embossing powder, what a fab idea!!!!! Thx!!
Very neat card, I bought a bottle of Gamsol, but was unable to get the little stubby pencils, I was also intrigued watching Gina K. on her channel. I will keep looking for the blender pencils. Thank You.

I bought Gambol after watching Gina K use it on a snowflake stamp !! I haven't used it yet but you have inspired me!! Thank you :)
I love gamsol and colored pencils. You did a great job

Great inspiration as always. I just bought gamsol and have a gorgeous flower die in going to try this on. Thank you
Lol! This morning I watched Gina blending with Gamsol and was inspired. Went to a nearby store, bought some and came home. Then I saw some folks advising not to use it due to safety concerns. And now I have watched you! Going to give it a try.
You can always wear a mask if you like.
Love it! I have the Gamsol and pencils so gotta try it out. You could put cling wrap on jar before putting the lid on.
My favorite way to color is with colored pencil and gamsol. Learned from Gina too! Makes me look all pro like. Haha! :)
The snowman is great too, but that envelope is shaded so cute.
I did the same thing....watched someone else do it, then bought all those same supplies. Maybe now I will use them!
Love how the card came out!! I definitely need to bust out the Gamsol!!
You and I must’ve watched the same GinaK video, because I bought the Gamsol and still haven’t used it ! Thanks for the reminder!
l have never tried it either...lol, but l have some orders coming this week, can't wait to try it. Thanks for sharing...l just loved how easy you made it look.
Your card came out so cute. I love this series. I had Gamsol for years and didn't use, got rid of it, then watched Gina again and bought more. Still haven't used it. LOL. I really need to give it a try.
Gina influenced me to try gamsol and colored pencils. I've used this method many time.

TFS!!
Love the way you explained everything and made it look so easy… Thank you… Happy Holidays! 🎄
Who knew you could use paint brushes?!
That skritchy sound is irritating, isn't it? LOL
I use paintbrushes also...Don't know how I got to this channel, but heck it's Christmas
I love that you finally tried your Gamsol and you did amazing. In fact you color better than me Cathy. Love, love your card too
Wait what? you have never tried Stickles before either? Did I hear that right? You again did amazing with the stickles too. I am so proud of you for trying new Crafty things. Yes I have used Gamsol many times and a few times in my channel. I love the affect on water color paper too which I got the idea from Lisa Hetrick too. I can't wait to see your video on Lunar paste next. I have almost every color of Lunar paste except one. But I love them.
And I'm officially obsessed with stickles!
@@czdesign They are fun to play with. I love the pops of color From Scrapbook too. You are welcome 🤗
Such a cute card, I love snowmen! I have tried using Gamsol but not recently. And yes, Gina K is why I bought it!
I have tried Gamsol and love the effect it gives to my projects. I don't use it enough though thanks, for the reminder I should take it out and use it again. Absouletly adorable card. I want to try coloring an embossing folder image with colored pencil and gamsol.
I have lots of colored pencils and yes I colored stamps with gamsol, so easy to get the lighting and shading look
