I played this recording for my grandmother who is in her 80s, she attended a primitive Baptist church in her youth. She said she could picture the old men standing in the pews singing. Very lovely music, thanks for sharing with everyone and God bless.
Listening to this early this morning, while drinking coffee. It lifts my Spirit, and makes me realize that life may be tedious and full of turmoil, tragedy, violence, greed, sickness , sorrow and death, in heaven there will be no sorrow. For God is there, and He has promised to wipe away every tear from our eyes.
Blessed Old Hardshell Hymn Singing!!! The Lord sent that Hymn to me Via A Child to Sing to and with My Mother; amid it She was Blessed to Shout The Gospel; During Her last few Minutes Awake on This Earth; Thank GOD For JESUS my All on Whom I fix my Hope Upon; Which is Both Sure and Steadfast and Entered With in The Vail, Where THE FORERUNNER HAS FOR USE ENTERED…Amen
A peaceful hour in which to cross over, what a high blessing to pray for. I have seen those who were blessed to be calm in their final moment; it has to be that they are overshadowed by the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised to send a comforter to his people. I hope to be among the sheep.
Lost it at "there'll be no sorrow there", Sorrow is all I known, for so long. I was ill for so long from the pain, but God brought me through, I just wish I could forget, The sorrow comes back now and again, but it doesn't affect my mind like it used too. One day, I'll be home and i won't have to fight anymore
Yes I have been there also. You know I think God is so merciful to leave His Word with us as we go through this life. We do not know what may come, but we can KNOW that God said for us to “finish our race.” And to continue to speak God’s Word at every opportunity we can.
Thank you for glorious beautiful priceless music. Young folks today are lost in this world today. God come in my life ten years ago trust me brothers and sister's yell never look back on your bad ways. Trust me 💞 Let the Church roll on brother. Amen
I guess I must be a Primitive Baptist Presbyterian. I love this music and share most all of the same beliefs as these dear brothers and sisters in Christ. This song brought me to tears.
well u need to study more then my friend. there are 2 types of primitive baptists (theologically speaking) "predestinarian: primitive baptists would reject covenant theology and infant baptism (as would all other true baptists of any stripe) they also believe each church is totally autonomous (as all baptists do). predestinarain pb's would reject the label of "calvinist", and they believe the vast majority of the human race is "saved" with only a minority going to hell. they also believe that you do NOT have to hear and believe the gospel to be saved, thus there are "saved" muslims, jews, hindus etc. as far as i know, presbyterians do not believe u an be saved and reject christ at the same time, altho as liberal as many of them have become, maybe now they do. the original pb's did not believe these doctrines, but they evolved over time as a justification for rejecting missions and explain why there numbers have been dwindling exponentially since the late 1800's
@@caman171 Ha! Sounds like some Presbyterians. Thanks for that information. Admittedly, I was ignorant of two types of Primitive Baptists. I am not surprised, however. Many, if not all, denominations have conservative and liberal strains.
@@michaelgreen4183 well PB's are in a category of their own. you cant really call them "liberal" because they do believe in the inerrancy of scripture, no female pastors, no gay membership etc. for the predestinarian PB's tho, they dug themselves into a hole when they so staunchly rejected missions, and split from other baptists in the early 1800's. they gradually began to withdraw into their own circles, and eventually their theology followed suit as a way to explain why their numbers were dwindling. they were infected with a doctrine called "two seed in the spirit" (google it) and while they officially denounced this doctrine, certain core elements remained. the "non-predestinarian primitive baptists" have essentially remained the same as they were, while officially denouncing mission societies along with their predestinarain brethren, they still believe in spreading the gospel personally, and still believe you MUST repent and believe in order to be saved

Saved in a Baptist Church and will die a member in a Baptist Church. I would have it no other way.
I was raised Baptist and still don’t understand why Baptist don’t preach baptism in the Name of JESUS for the remission of sins. onefaith.us

Such a loving compliment! Thank you! :)
I've been searching for this type of singing for many years. Takes me back to wonderful days when I was a young girl.
Me too, Carol. Isnt it beautiful?
We are still singing these old ancient songs every Sunday. Or whenever we meet..Thanks be to God..
The Old Order German Baptist in Ohio and Indiana and probably Missouri, still sing this way... but slower yet. This is a little fast.

Where can I learn the history of this music?
The technique in the video is called "Lining out" and it originated in England and Scotland.
They sound drunk.
Oddly they said that to the worshipers at the day of Pentecost :)
They are, with Gods love
