If Prussia had continued on the path of the Great King as He wished, it would never have allowed the racist Germanskis to seize control; oppress its Polish-speaking citizens and force Mother Prussia into the disastrous Second German Empire! Prussia would likely still exist today as the United Kingdom of Poland and Prussia (possibly with the Czechs as well) and would still be a major power! Definitely proud of my Prussian Heritage… especially given my great grandparents were both teenagers when Prussia was officially dissolved. (1914) I am always thankful I was able to know both of them for a time before their deaths.

Unfortunately, my Prussian ancestors had to abandon their lands because of the Red Army advance (They had told stories about unimaginable tortures that Russians were committing against the Germans). So they run to Brazil... huge mistake. Here they were chase because of the "in Brazil we just speak portuguese" policie create by the "national hero" Getúlio Vargas. So who wasn't able to speak portuguese usually were tortured and just "disappears"(That policie was followed sins the Vargas ERA 1930-1945 to nearly the and of the Military regime with the extinction of DOPS the Brazilian Gestapo). Children were forced to go to school and learn just in Portuguese ( This still is the educational policie of Brazil). For a miracle, the Gauchos helped them to form isolated communities and escape from the government. Today almost all cultural heritage it's gone, but like you I also had the opportunity to know my German relatives and to grow up in a small city with a large German influence. I'm not a German (I'm part of the first generation who doesn't understand German) but as a Gaucho I'm proud of my Prussian blood!

Well maybe if we stretch our minds a bit we could come up with something. What area of European did the "Windors" come from when they took the throne of England? It was sometime in the 1700's when during one of many of Europe's/Englands(UK) wars that it was politically correct to sing God save the King to show your loyalty to your British (German ancestry) King. You chose a popular ditty currently running on the British stage. The music for the stage ditty was lifted from the Anthem of Prussia from which the current royal family of Britain originated. The lyric writers created some words to it and presto you have a song to sing the praises of your adopted german rulers. Come on people think. There are no coincidences. Either I’m crazy, or later part of this was sped up for “My Country tis of Thee” because it has the same structure in some sections.
If you've listened to "Heil dir im Siegerkranz" then it is quite close to it, and for good reason. Prussia unified Germany.
