First playthrough I gave it to Gerlinde, the rune I got was useless as didnt slot onto my weapon which was already fully upgraded. Didnt need anything else from her either. 2nd run im giving it to Sparky as gonna kill Gerlinde.
i mean i dont switch runes often at all, and i dont need the rune you get from gerlinde, so i would love to free sparky but i am NOT doubling the price of everything lol, sorry sparky
Thanks for watching! It’s the “Crimson Rector” armor. I got it from defeating a crimson rector. They’re located near the Pilgrim’s perch. The helmet is from defeating Pieta and the rest of the armor is the Dark Crusader set
I gave it to sparky because i was feeling bad for him being shackled,and i wanted to get something cool from him in return. It makes no sense that i get garbage(changing runes at campfire,really?)when the people who chose gerlinda get giga imba rune for heavy weapon types. So not only i get garbage,but i actually get punished for making gerlinda mad and her prices are doubled... It would have been more rational if sparky gave something valuabla like the rune that makes any weapon weight 0,while when you chose gerlinda you would get sales at her blacksmith or something
It helps to give it to sparky if you want to unlock the umbral ending. IMO if you’re doing just one play through Gerlinde is the best option. If you do multiple plays, you’ll have to give it to sparky eventually.
@@rivtekk sadly,i don't care about umbral ending. It only changes ending cutscene right? So i can just watch it youtube.I will complete the game once i think and i get punished for choosing sparky
@@rivtekk question actually: if you're doing the umbral ending, can you give Sparky the tablet before you kill her and maintain the ability to forge at vestiges?
The reward from Sparky sounds good, but it's just not that useful since all it does is save you a trip to the hub every once in a while. The Rune Gerlinde gives you is also not all hat great though, because at some point you'd rather just deal more damage than have less weight, and removing the requirements doesn't change the scaling, so the weapon will be largely useless unless you have the stats you need to wield it anyways.
It’s nice to have if you have a specific build like radiance & vitality and want to use something scaled to like strength or inferno. If you do have a heavy build it does help with the encumberance. I personally swapped it for a physical damage runs because my sword was already light and I had the stat requirement.
I disagree; crafter's essence opens up more weapon/ build possibilities especially for heavy equipment. While the scaling doesnt change it helps tremendously for encumbrance which affects rolls/ stamina recovery. Definitely helps alot but depends on how the item is used.
My weapon requires 30 in strength and radiance and gets an A+ scaling in both so obviously I’m gonna level those stats past 30 to get the most bang for my buck and there is little to no difference between having a light and medium roll in this game so 0 weapon weight doesn’t matter because the ring of bones exists (this games Havel ring) AND the rune she would have given me wouldn’t have fit anywhere I wanted it to anyways so I guess I’m going with sparky🤷🏻♂️
Any idea why I didn't get the rune a second time in NG? Could it be because I chose NG+0 and I already got that rune the very first playthrough? Can you get more than one rune for the same character in 'true' NG+ 1, 2, etc?
Any idea if this descision affects the game ending, if there is a variable game ending? By the way in the text on the rune if you give tablet to Gerlinde, satates something relevant, I think. ... It says Sparky looked back of his numerous lives and decided it wasn't enough. .. Maybe Sparky should be be grateful for having many lives as hoomans only get one. The fact Sparky has many lives might well be the emotion get out of jail free card for Sparky's death.
For some strange reason. Ive handed the first (correct) tablet to the blacksmith. Obtained the second one but it will not give me another option of dialogue with her. Tries everything including beqcon's, defeated more Sentinels but nothing

Do the prices of upgrading double as well? or only the shop items?
If you give it to sparky you’ll be able to upgrade at vestiges for the regular price.

Important note for those who care:
If you want the achievement, you have to give it to Sparky (at least for one playthrough).
Same with Gerlinde. You have to play the game 3 times to get all the achievements unless you create an alternate save (on PC).

I’m dual wielding two bloody glory’s so this rune helps a lot lol
