Hello mate you’re well organised with your brassicas. The cain clips are a good idea I missed them at Malvern. A good selection of tomatoes will be interesting to see how good the blight resistant they are. All the best Nic 👍🍅🌶️🥔🫛
I enjoyed this! You have so much going out! I’m looking forward to seeing your onions planted! What an assortment of tomatoes 🍅! I’m spreading some gypsum before planting this year, it puts bio available sulphur and calcium to the soil but doesn’t change the PH! Klaus
Hi Klaus, great to hear from you!! Yes, hopefully the onions will be planted today then I can begin to fill the greenhouse pots. Hope the weather stays kind 😎
Great stuff Nigel. I sow too many as well, and I needed them! Bloody pigeons and slugs LOL I used those cane clips on my old plot - stupidly I left them on the canes when I vacated!
i've noticed more and more people building brassica cages. my grandad used to plant in rows of about 20 or 30 brassicas a time. no nets and always had decent plants growing. all he ever did was walk along the rows every visit to his allotment to seek and destroy caterpillars. it must have worked, because my mother was fussy. wouldn't touch anything with caterpillars. i can't ever remember her discarding any produce. i'm growing the same way..................brian
Hi Andy… yes, so many blight resistant varieties out there now. For growing outdoors give them more flavour than those grown in the greenhouse. Not sure if it’s due to the trace elements in the soil?????

Great update Nigel , you make it look so easy 👍
Cheers Jim. Lucky my daughter is home at the moment and having her behind the camera saves a huge amount of time. 👍🏻

I can’t remember the company what sold the clips. Good price I thought, wish I had got 20 of the smaller size also 👍🏻.
