Great video Nigel, I love the way you've set up your greenhouse with the auto watering systems. Your onions look great and your beans are so much better than mine have been. Take care
Hi Nigel, plenty of your planting done, busy time of year for us growers. Always a pleasure watching you videos as they have plenty of useful hints & tips. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
Buying plug plants I think is the way to go. The cost of compost, all the kit (propagators , lights), raising eyebrows by the household authorities - makes it such hard work. Worthwhile when you could not get plants that you wanted, but when plug plants are available.
Hi Nigel, once again another highly professional video. Looks like your plot is almost in full swing. At the moment my winter crops are in full swing down here. I've got my third succession of brassicas potted up and ready to sow the fourth. The rainbow beet (chard) is coming into harvest and onions all planted. We've had brilliant sunny days this week but starting to get chilly at night (8 degrees). Hope you plot go well. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers
Hi Keith. Good to hear you are on top of yours. Weather still unsettled here. After a few hot days, lots of rain, the temps seem to be dropping. Almost all planted now for me… with a few failures though 😢
Hello mate you were lucky you got that net on the brassicas that big fat pigeon would’ve got them else 4.50 minutes 🤣 looking good keep up the good work. And get the hoe ready for those weeds👍 All the best Nic 🧅🧅🧅🧅
Hi Nigel ill be thinking about the quad grows for next season or something similar looks so nice neat and organised. Plug plunts might be way to go with seed prices
Hi Nigel thanks for all of the info I have just sewn some carrots in individual stations, if I get any failures is it best to transplant or reseed regarding carrot fly ? Many Thanks Andy
Nice one Nigel. Seen a few channels winding their beans clockwise 🙁 Scotrail? You moved up North? LOL I've had lousy germination and growth from my Boltardy (a seed supplier we met at the GPE!) I've never tried using compost in my Quadrows or Autopots. I use 60/40 coir/clay balls and rely on a liquid feed in the tanks.
I use clay pebbles except for the AutoPots with the air base. Tried coir mix but needed feeding too often….. I am on a mail list that list interesting trains passing through my area each week. Had most of the well known loco’s go past over the years. 😊👍🏻 Had rubbish germination with spring onions… done at least 5 sowings ☀️
I got a mate with a double glazing business. Gets a lot of jobs now converting conservatory polycarbonate roofs to insulated. He saves me the large sheets 😊
Your such an inspiration Nigel. I have just been gifted a carrot tank half the size of yours, can I ask, do you put holes in the bottom of the tank. Ive tried so many times to do carrots in the ground with not much success.
Tips please for jalapeños got plugs transplanted into bigger pots and watered in greenhouse they are wilting any ideas please all happy gardening Richardx
Check for pests particularly under the leaves. All of mine got hit with whitefly. Similar symptoms as you. Sprayed with SB Plant Invigorator. It has hopefully saved them. Also keep them on the dry side 👍🏻
@@MuddyBootz no bugs but might have over watered during transplant fussy teenagers like tomatos i think ill not water till dry and even though no fruit is tomato feed a good option at this stage thank you so much I really appreciate it happy gardening Richardx

Hi Bethan, you will be happy with your quadgrow. Can get 2-3 weeks between waterings. Almost all planted now...time for a rest 😀👍
I enjoyed this as always! I’m just taking a break from planting out, now I’m going to sow my pole beans. What fun!

Hi both, hope you are keeping well. A close call but out of the 2 systems I would go for AutoPots. Can keep expanding the system 👍🏻
Thanks

Cool, I do the interesting vessels going up the Glos/Sharpness canal. I missed the tall ships Thurs/Fri - other commitments LOL
Where did you get your polycarb lid from for your carrots, I watched one of your recent videos when you were harvesting some carrots in winter ?

I put the holes around the sides about 3cm up from the bottom. This acts as a small reservoir and wicks up the soil to reduce drying out 😊👍🏻
How do you grow onions that big in cells? How old are they?

I always forget, what is an obergene?
You may know an Aubergine as Egg Plant or Brinjal or Baigan. A member of the nightshade family
