Let’s Bake Amish Crusty Bread

- Today I’m making homemade Amish Crusty Bread. I found an incredible recipe online & I’m going to attempt to make it in my own kitchen this morning. Join me!
Recipe~
Ingredients:
1 & 1/4 cups very warm tap water.
1/4 cup sweetener; you may use maple syrup, agave syrup, honey or sugar.
1 & 1/4 teaspoon salt.
1/4 cup oil
6 cups flour

1. In a large bowl, mix the maple syrup with the warm water, and then stir in yeast. Allow to proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam.
2. Mix salt and oil into the yeast. Mix in flour one cup at a time. Knead dough on slightly floured surface until smooth. Place in a well-oiled bowl, and turndough to coat. Cover with a damp cloth. Allow to rise until doubled in bulk,about 1 hour.
3. Punch dough down. Knead for a few minutes; then divide in half. Shape into loaves,and place into two well-oiled 9 x 5 inch loaf pans. Allow to rise for 30minutes, or until dough has risen 1 inch above pans.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes.
Remove loaves from pans and place on cooling rack. Cool thoroughly before slicing

I don't like bread machines, but now that I have arthritis I use my stand mixer to let it need my dough works wonders

Ill try to bake this!😅
You have to knead the bread more. It won't be dense when left to rise with yeast. The kneading technique u are using is perfect for Sodabread
It was driving me crazy watching this for someone who worked in multiple bakeries and is a “so-called pastry chef “you could’ve fooled me!😊
