Saw X is chock full of everything we’ve been wanting for years: Jigsaw (alive), Amanda (young?), & Kevin (Greutert)! Somehow it all comes together and actually works. For this Saw fan at least! Lets see if it works for Jake & Mike…

PLOT
John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is told he has only months to live due to advanced brain cancer. He attends a cancer support group meeting and befriends Henry Kessler (Michael Beach), who later claims he has been cured by an experimental Norwegian cancer treatment conducted by a group led by Dr. Finn Pederson (Donagh Gordon). A desperate John contacts the doctor's daughter Cecilia (Synnøve Macody Lund), who refers him to her clinic outside Mexico City.
On arrival in Mexico, John is driven to the clinic and introduced to Cecilia and her team - Mateo (Octavio Hinojosa), Valentina (Paulette Hernández), and Dr. Cortez - as well as patients Gabriela (Renata Vaca) and Parker Sears (Steven Brand) and the caretaker's young son Carlos (Jorge Briseño), with whom he bonds. John goes under for surgery and awakens to Cecilia telling him that he is now cancer-free. However, upon returning to the clinic, he finds it abandoned. He uncovers a video simulating his supposed brain surgery and removes his bandages to find no scar on his head, revealing the entire operation to be a scam.
Deducing that "Dr. Cortez" was his taxi driver Diego (Joshua Okamoto) in disguise, John kidnaps and interrogates him, then forces him to play a "game" where he must remove pipe bombs wired into his arms by cutting through his flesh, which he completes successfully. Meanwhile, Jigsaw's apprentice Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith) helps him abduct Cecilia and also abducts Mateo, Valentina, and Gabriela. They wake up in the clinic, now subjects in Jigsaw's games.
Valentina is tasked with severing her leg with a Gigli saw and extracting enough bone marrow that will connect to a gauge and deactivate the trap. She manages to amputate her leg but is unable to collect enough marrow, and a second Gigli saw decapitates her.
Parker breaks into the clinic, demanding his money back. Amanda restrains him while Mateo is forced to drill into his own skull and remove a piece of cerebral tissue to dissolve in a test tube and obtain a key. Although he successfully performs the task, the tissue fails to dissolve in time, and a heated mask closes over his face. Next, Gabriela is suspended from shackles and subjected to ionizing radiation, tasked with freeing herself by using a sledgehammer to break her shackled limbs. She succeeds, but before Amanda can take her to a hospital, Parker forces them at gunpoint to release Cecilia.
Cecilia kills Gabriela by breaking her neck and reveals she called Parker, who is part of the scam, to rescue her. She forces John to chain himself into the trap meant for her. When she hears Carlos outside, she takes the child and chains him opposite John. The trap begins waterboarding them with blood. Parker and Cecilia go to retrieve their bag of stolen cash from John's control room but activate a tripwire, sealing them both in the room and freeing John and Carlos. A deadly chemical gas begins filling the room; the only respite is a ventilation hole large enough for one person's head, forcing Cecilia and Parker to fight each other. Cecilia kills Parker but can only watch as John, Amanda, and Carlos exit the facility, leaving her trapped.

The climax of the story relying on Jigsaw knowing the spanish word for pull is amazing
Damn you all over the place huh?
@Design909. Hey some us are rabid commenters! It's like being part of the convo 😎 lol
The funniest part of this entire franchise is the fact that Jigsaw is 53 when he dies in Saw 3, which means he is like 51-52 in this film, being played by 81 year old Tobin Bell, also imagine what the kid’s parents thought when he showed up at home covered in blood with a big bag of money and an old man behind him also covered in blood
I guess he pulls off a terminally ill 52 year old pretty well huh
Well tbf he does have cancer
Cancer can age you like crazy. Dr Gordan is supposed to be around the same age as John.
@stmsincentral america
Should have just put a backwards hat on him
“Hes like baraka”
“….like the president?”
“…….yea(?)….”
Calling Eric's grammy at the end of the commentary track was amazing.
I genuinely thought he was joking when he mentioned her knowing the Spiral twist. I thought there's no way any grammies would be into Saw. Turns out she passed her legendary taste down a few generations.
so wholesome 🥹
Agreed what a dark horse 😂
@@1t1sTh3L0rdhe has mentioned his “Nana” being an avid horror fan and specifically saw before either in a crossover episode or a commentary track.
Jigsaw walking out of green smoke was so epic. I wonder how much of Jigsaw's budget goes towards pyrotechnics?
@stmsin Good point.
He really needs a patreon or something to support his efforts
Between the Grammy phone call and the director thanking Eric - somehow the Saw commentary tracks have become some of the most wholesome videos on the channel
Them complaining that Jigsaw doesn't give them enough time is great.
In all honestly if they spent less time saying there not going to do it at the start they would be fine like they were second away so if they sent a few seconds less complaining they'd live so no he's giving them enough time.
It's kind unreasonable to expect "oh, this? Do this? Ignore pain? Okay" immediately, like with 10 seconds of error time available@@godammichael
@@carmelo6546yh you’d have to be equally as psychopathic to think like that in such a situation lol
@@shoo99ful not really psychopathic, just equally as traumatized and used to going into fight or flight
@@carmelo6546 well mateo took like 40 seconds to even start his game and John even said do not waste time.also if he just started his game 3 seconds earlier then he did then he would be fine
"Eric's grammy approved!" Put it on the DVD case!
I'M SO GLAD YOU INCLUDED YOUR TOBIN BELL AND SHAWNEE SMITH AGE-UP/BRYAN CRANSTON AND AARON PAUL AGE-UP IN THIS VIDEO! It was my favorite part of the commentary because not only was it the perfect intersection of my interests, it was the PERFECT comparison. And in both cases, I'm so thrilled there was no ugly makeup or fucked up de-aging software: they trusted their audiences. The actors are great enough to inhabit their characters no matter how they look. I love this movie and I'm so happy it lived up to the Saw name.
Can't wait to see Saw XI where a 90 year old Tobin Bell is portraying a mid-20's John Kramer being a sexy surfing lifeguard who moonlights as a murderer for beach patrons who don't wear enough sunscreen
@@BoopinSnakeBanditolmaooo😂
@@BoopinSnakeBandito"You don't care about your life. If you don't use more sunscreen you're gonna end up like me"
The phonecall with your grandmother was so wholesome that I completely forgot that you guys were talking about Saw deaths 😂😂
"let me show you how this tire can kill a man" lmaoo
that clip of him thanking eric for his support for saw 6 stopppp so sweet
Props to the production designers for understanding this happens just after the events of Saw II so the internet needed to look more crunchy but forgetting that monitors and TVs (and therefore videos on the Internet) were still mostly squares instead of rectangles then.
I'm never fully dressed without my SawX
Good one
I shouted "Hotdog!" when I saw the studio
Hotdog! Hotdog! Hot-diggity-Dog indeed good sir!
I squeed and a lil pee came out
“ I swallowed a magical orb” I lost it after he said that
I just realized Tobin Bell's performance in this movie is for some reason giving me the same energy as Teller from Penn & Teller when he would speak at town hall meetings. He's so silent but when he speaks it's so intentional and serious. I don't know why this makes sense to me.
The best part about seeing this at the cinema? The roar of the audience when we all saw Hoffman.
My favorite thing about this movie was watching it with my sister, a nurse named Valentina, and we see a character in the movie pretend to be nurse whose name is Valentina die a vicious death.
Couldn't stop smiling the whole time, giving her the side eye.
🐺
Its amazing that this movie made John so sympathetic. Youd think knowing the horrible things he did later on would detract from feeling sorry for him, but it really didndt for me and from what ive seen most people agree. Saw has always been one of those franchises where the audience tends to root for the bad guys anyways, but this entry really takes it a step further.
OMG that full circle moment with Kevin is so sweet
Love that Eric’s Grammy made a cameo. What a fucked up sweet heart for liking this franchise ❤️
The tag line for Saw X is "and in this time, it's personal..."
the vaccum eyeball trap really bugs me because breaking your fingers CANNOT Be that painful compared to the other traps jigsaw has put people in. just crank it up to 5 and get them all over with at once. yes its gonna hurt but its nothing compared to cutting off a limb or taking a piece of skin off. also you have a better chance of them healing back to normal
I know it’s supposed to be in John’s imagination, however I think it would’ve been interesting if after the guy put the valuables back in the drawer, it went back to the beginning of the trap and the guy turns the dial all the way, instantly defeating the trap as jigsaw intended.
But I like the idea to make the punishment's/trap's severity and difficulty adjusted to the misbehaviour of the culprit/victim
BRUH THATS WHAT I SAID
I’ve had two fingers broken at once. It sucks and hurts like hell, but I’d easily do it again before getting my eyes sucked out.
Yes,but remember, people experiencies just one trap each, they can't compare the amount of pain
"I thought it made him young!!" Made me laugh so hard I got the "please quiet down" text from my mom😂
Seeing that smile on Jigsaw's face after he says it wasn't quite what they had planned made my stomach drop. In that moment, he became more human instead of a monster. The conversation with Amanda was close second, but dude. I can't help but mention how HOT Tobin Bell looked doing it. He's laughing at his own mistake, it makes the whole movie about "humanizing" the villain satisfying.
I've been waiting for you to make a commentary track on this!!!! I'm sad you're not making it to Seattle, but I'm hoping we'll get to see a highlight reel of the tour. Congrats!!!! (:
I think the biggest flex I have in my family is my nana was a driving instructor and she taught Leigh how to drive :)
That's a legit fun fact! Use it wisely while playing 2 truths and a lie 😅
Legit how is the TENTH entry in a franchise this good, like top 3 for me with the first 2
walks away into the sunset with the bag of money. hand in hand happy. most wholesome ending ever
SAW X. Granny Approved. We love to see it.
“Oh I’m dressed exactly how I was in the video” 😂😂😂 you guys always have the best jokes love the channel
"you ever heard of gideon?" still not over john wanting to name his son after a building lmfao
The Saw commentaries are pure gold! Good stuff
Nothing brings me more joy than seeing other people working in or working with the film industry, just loving watching movies, no matter that the movie is. Thank you forever Eric ❤
Eric's grammy would have gotten along with my grandma. She LOVED horror movies. I saw one of the Chucky movies and The Grudge at her house, and she made my mom go with her to see the first Orphan movie when it came out 😂😂
This is my favourite Saw movie. I saw this when it was released last September and I had an blast watching it, I got so hyped when Zepp played
Now I want a full Saw movie commentary track with Eric and his Grammy😂
I call this release “epic good luck”
22:15 You know the Pokemon Sawk? SAWX is what you call a group of ‘em
Was it ever bad at all??? The og crew together bring me so much joy and life its crazy. Love these Saw commentaries
I mean it hasn’t been good in over a decade haha
@@PrettyMuchIt I forgot about jigsaw and spiral for a sec lololol
I honestly really like Jigsaw and Spiral, sue me.
When the director and producers heard about how good the reviews were for saw x they thought they were being pranked.

"Now he's like Baraka!"
"...the president?!"
Legends.
Thanks for using my buddies "SAW Soundtracks" Extended Jigsaw Intro theme track for the opener of this video. Really cool seing ppl use our work
didn't realize it was a fan edit! just added a link to it in the description. great work!
I love how our opinions on Saw are so alike. This movie was so refreshing after Jigsaw shat on the series. I got to meet Shawnee Smith and Dina Meyer from the series and it was amazing. I am trying to see if i can swing a trip down to Chicago just to hangout and talk Saw with you
i squeaked when Eric said "Y'ever heard uhv GIDDYUN?!"
Eric's grammy sounds like the best grandma ever :)
So This is the only Grammy award-winning film franchise
One of your most wholesome and best episodes, love you ERIC for this uplifting videos
I saw this movie with my best friend who had only seen the first one and the difference of our experiences was titanic. She could barely look at the screen during most traps meanwhile I was hooting, hollering, and just having the grandest of times. She lost all appetite for the food we ordered during the bone marrow sucking scene. We both still had a blast though! Such a fun movie! Great commentary as always!
“Mad Dog Kramer” actually exists for anyone who’s seen Tobin Bell in The Quick and the Dead
This film made me feel so much empathy for both John and Amanda... It was such an effective film and the best since the first two.
get tickets on hotsawsummer.com to our US tour this summer watching SAW 1-7!
I was hoping for at least a Saw X screening included 😅 possibly Salt Lake City, UT?? :O
As someone who used to follow your theory videos back in the day, this puts a smile on my face.
O.G prettymuchit SAW content ! 🥳🥳
Subbed to you guys in the height of the annual saw releases
13:33 valentina and the other guy shouldn’t have lost their traps, first off they complete them and the machine is just two slow so it’s not really on them. Secondly these specific traps are designed so that it would be a nightmare to survive them, removing the marrow from your bones is agony and we could have seen the aftermath of that if she passed the test also why do a brain trap if your not gonna show him afterwards struggling in some way like if he says he can’t see properly cos he scooped a bunch of his brain out, the doctor lady can explain all of this and help them deal with it plus she caps the witnesses anyway so we could have seen all these peeps go through hell, deal with their new conditions and then get popped anyway and ruin their redemption
awful week, but this made everything better... eric ily ❤ (also when will miami get some love LMFAO)
hope next week is better for ya ❤️❤️
I've been screaming, crying, throwing up, for this reaction, and I'm so glad it didn't disappoint. Glad you loved Saw X, Eric!
Ah yes, my fav actor Toby Jones. ✨😩
Tbf Toby Jones (the legit actor, British dude) is a great actor.
missed opportunity to not have grandma say "thats pretty much it"
Awhh that would be such a cute sign off for the holiday season 🤗
not me traveling to LA just to watch saw 6 with y’all
I can't believe Hoffman walked through the Dr Strange portal to help John Kramer fight Thanos
Yes Eric! Saw has such a special space in your TH-cam career, glad to see this tour going ahead. Surely going to be great!
Most people have said that the Saw movies don't teach you anything good; I disagree because the first one has taught me how to use the improvising lasso trick. It's gotten me out of everyday disability BS more times than I like to admit. Mostly dropping crap on the floor when I'm in my tall as hell wheelchair.
*Palpatine voice* Long have I waited
Absolutely adored this film
Dethroned 2 as my fave of the franchise. Never thought we'd get a Saw Character Study but man am I glad we did because Tobin really got to flex all of his acting chops here.
I love when parents and grandparents are also horror fans! It makes my heart happy. Horror movies can and should be a family bonding experience (you know, if your kids are old enough for horror movies and whatnot.)
You Vid on the Saw movies is where I started watching your channel,
So many memories.
Your grammy is a gift. She's awesome. 💕
she’s the best!!!
Eric and Grammy commentary track for the entire Saw franchise is definitely needed
The way ima roadtrip to watch Saw with you 🙌🤧💞 ILY MAN!!!
Amamda got flewd out 💀
Right I saw this in the cinema with my misses and Saw is back man seeing this in a cinema giant screen was great Zeps theme will always get me hyped man was waiting for your reaction for so long
This is low-key a two for one special because I get to see you and the guy from game ranx that I’ve been following for seven years
21:24 OH MY GOD THE *GYAS*
jerma is FROTHING over this
So I only smoke on the weekends now, so excuse me while I give out some compliments while im all high and in a good mood.
First of all, eric you not only getting to a point where you were a guest along with the first person you ever interviewed, but you also made enough of an impression that he remembers you - thats so cool man. Be proud of yourself for that.
But also, I throughly enjoy watching every one of your videos (although I havent purchased any of your full videos. Haha sorry, I run a tight budget but I definitely may just to show some love). You are always such a welcoming host to your friends, and always make sure people are included and points are heard. You got a good heart man.
And finally, I absolutely love how Jake always manages to work his love of comics into everything with his references. He's up there as one of the most respectable video game reviewers/his chats about everything he's into at that given moment - just because he thinks that the good stuff should get some love in a world where people love to hate things.
Y'all are good people.
thank you for the kind words, josh!!
This video and commentary is such a treat for OG PMI fans
You were my favorite Saw reviewer back before you became PMI, really excited to hear you speaking about this one
Are you reading my mind? I just finished my saw marathon with ya’ll and watched this last night and now a saw tour and Saw X highlight track. Eric you beautiful genius.
Sadly no tour for me as I am currently living in Korea but hopefully there will be another tour once I move back!
First time coming across this channel. You guys are hilarious
thank you, glad you're enjoying!
Happened to be wearing my saw t shirt today when this drops! Love you guys!
Plot twist. Saw 11s twist will be Pablo is a secret apprentice and the last half of the movie will be Tobin raising him like his son and as an adult Pablo takes on his legacy after the events of spiral, spiral being the tipping point to launch him into continuing on after going into hiding. The baby cop fake jigsaw of spiral being the first victim
Why the fuck did I think the kids name was Pablo??? I'm legit losing it. Anyways Carlos
Oh my god I've been waiting so fucking long for this! Definitely the best Saw we've gotten in so long and it's great to see Tobin Bell being given the chance to show off his chops and he fucking killed it.
The game ain't over.
The Friday PMI shows used to get me through high school.
Love you guys! ❤

Ever since October 2023 I have been anticipating the highlight video for this
I love this movie so much . I watched twice in the cinema. Tobin Bell gives an amazing performance maybe his best ever . To see Amanda again and Hoffman was fantastic
ngl I cried a few times during this movie when I saw it in theatres, I really love it a lot!
0:18 ‘Meet Me in St. Louis…to watch Saw’.
Oddly enough pretty much it or just Eric himself was the first person I began to follow when it came to Saw movie reviews. Very enjoyable to say the least.
