@@Uche-1 I think you are right! It was a monumental near miss that's for sure! The funny thing is my mom did such a good job anchoring it, there were no repeat falling episodes throughout the 6 months!
How sweet that your mom came to your aid. What a fantastic video showing your progress and technique. Your dedication to this channel is soooo appreciated. The pot you used is beautiful. The fact that your Ficus didn’t skip a beat is awesome. So many great tips in this video too (like the fact that not all roots are going to be/stay white and that microfiber is a great wicking material).
I know I have told you, but your lovely comments make all the work worth it! This was a big project for me and I was so glad to see it work out. Such a relief I tell you. I was very nervous. I was also lucky that my mom was actually around to help!
Thank you for the true way things go when working with such a tall plant ! When things go too smoothly I cannot with the video. Now, when things fall over, that’s more realistic lol. Wonderful job. Well done !
Wow Nora what a whopper. Can't wait for the "my FLF" has out grown my house video 🤣. This pot certainly won't be taken to the sink for a flush. Two questions. 1/ Currently being winter in Melbounre my plants are not drinking as much. I usually change out the reservoirs every two weeks. Clearly with larger plants I would prefer not to have to lift them. Do you just give it less water in the reservoir or do you just fill it and wait for it to be used up. 2/ Being in such a large pot even with the added wicks do you like to water from the top over the Leca so the plant can draw from the Leca or do you only fill using the water gauge spot.
I love that your fiddle leaf fig is one of your most special plants. I have a collection of rare, beautiful, plants, and I will say that my fiddle leaf fig is one of my absolute most favorite plants that I own. This plant has my heart. When those leaves upsize... such JOY. I actually have mine sitting next to it's new forever home, and I've been putting off repotting it. Thank you so much for the inspiration to tackle this project. Now you've got me debating as to if I should repot to Leca.
I have no words Nora.....You are one gutsy woman!!! I was getting so overwhelmed with you needing a hand 😂 but you did it!! Omgoodness!! No leaf loss. If anyone could do it, you could. 😅 When it started to fall, I was yelling at the TV, "QUICK QUICK AHHH." Well, now I am totally inspired. Even though I knew what you were going to do before this video came out, I was trying to get the gumption to actually transition my FLF. It's half the size of yrs in a 250 mil pot. Do you think it would be ok with a heat mat and growlights for Winter or should I leave it till late Spring? 🤔
I have never been a fiddle leaf fig fan, but I am impressed by the size of yours. So many struggle with this plant. Good luck with the transition into Leca. I have watched one of your videos of past, regarding planting hoyas using aluminum rods covered in jute. Could you please do a video on how to cover with jute.
Good job! But one question: what would happen if the light source doesn't come from the top but from the side? I can't own big plants like this or bird of paradise because they don't grow vertically, because the sunlight comes from the side, I have a balcony above mine... :(
That’s Right. My favorite 3 plants are in Lechuza Pots. I offen talk about my Philodendron El Choco Red on a moss pole with Philodendrons: Micans, Camposportoanums,, Verrucosums and Syngonium Rayii. They cover the moss pole. All in a large Lechuza Pot, the forever home. My Mother’s Day Gift, Yea! 👍🏾Video. Love MoM in the video. Pot on a dolly. I’m June in my Junegle. 🪴Happy Planting🌿

And that's why you're the leca queen 👑!!! Congratulations on a successful transfer.
You are too kind, thank you 😊
Two great ladies, the plants are not bad.
When I get out the hospital I’m sending you ma’am the bill. My heart just stopped beating🤣🤪🤣🗣️🗣️ time stamp 16:50 LORD HAVE MERCY
Why did it stop? Are you OK?
@@TheLecaQueen😂 She meant due to the flf trying to jump off your table. You have some good reflexes.
I loved that you called your mom to help! I too, call my mom to help me with projects! So relatable! 💚
Where would we be without our mums? She figured out the whole thing in no time. I was lucky that I did this when she was in the country!
Your dedication is admirable!!! You're the best love 🥰 🍃🌿🌱🍀☘️✨️
I truly appreciate your support! It inspires me to keep pushing forward and create even more content for you all!

So impressive. I really want to change my fiddle leaf fig to leca. Maybe one day. Thanks for the video
Go for it!

Is clonex pro start the same as clonex clone solution? Thats all I can find in the UK and have been using it hoping its just a different name!
Omg I love it ❤😍 thank you so much for the video exelente
You are very welcome and thank you.
Very inspiring! I'm feeling ultra confident about my Dumb Cane transfer!💚🌱
I am so glad. My only goal is to inspire confidence and show people what is possible. Dumb cane will love leca.

Hey Deborah, I know right! It was overwhelming. I would do it if I were you so by the time spring comes it is good to go.

You did it Nora! Thanks for the experiment as I’m thinking of transferring mine to a mix of PON & LECA. Thanks for sharing Nora!
I did!!! It has been such a long time coming. I suspect pon & leca will be a good combo for it. All the best. How big is your plant?
@@TheLecaQueen it’s about half of yours!

This is very helpful. As I saw a Ficus Shivierana at Bunnings today and I want her lol.
Thank you!
So did you have to buy him a new bucket or did that mean he didn’t have to wash the car?!?😂
That was fun
Thank you! Very nerve wracking for me!

Happy planting June!
I have a ficus umbellata thats in tree form and I’m tempted to switch to leca but I’m worried to do this on a plant thats more mature
What a big girl plant. I have to wash my fiddle leaf fig leaves it’s like filthy, even washing her with water didn’t help.
Another fantastic video Nora ! Can I ask how many leaves/ or age does a plant have to have to change into leca
Are you talking about a fiddle specifically?
What did you soak your LECA in before planting?
My clonex clone solution usually, or maybe just water, can't remember. But probably my clonex clone solution.
How did you know it was ready to be moved?? Maybe I missed it
All the new roots.
You seem to be using small LECA. Does it hold more water?
No, I am using my normal leca, about 8 to 16mm in diameter.
What is Leca

You have no flowering plants in your collection, or do you you? I have a brugmansia growing in leca and it's thriving. The flowers are beautiful.
