A warning to anyone looking at this rack that has a proper mountain bike. This will not fit a modern trail or enduro bike because the straps are too close to the middle of the rack and the straps are too short to reach around the wheel. I bought this rack and it doesnt fit any of the 5 mountain bikes that we have in our garage of which two are trail bikes and three are enduro bikes with tyres ranging from 27.5x2.4" to 29x2.6". None of them fit. I contacted Thule support and they suggested that I pay an extra $80 to buy the XXL straps so that I can actually strap the wheels down. Really upset with this product and considering that Thule states that these racks can support "mountain bikes and ebikes" on their website yet they dont provide straps that are long enough out of the box is just laughable and a slap in the face to the consumer. Feel free to ask questions if you wanna know more info.

Hi, something doesn't seem right. We have fitted plenty of bikes to these racks including 27.5 x 2.8". Thule quote OK to 3" wide.

@@mateuscabrera it’s not the width of the tyres that is the issue, it is the length of the bike. None of the 5 bikes that we had in the garage at the time would fit (2019 Specialized Stumpjumper, 2021 Commencal Meta Power, 2022 Trek Rail, 2022 Mondraker Crafty R and an older Giant Trance). You can strap in one tyre but then the other is too far away to get the strap right around it. I ended up having to buy a set of the longer straps and I have 1 long and one short strap per bike and that works. The bikes are too close together though and rub against each other at the wheel hubs. Both my bike and my girlfriend’s bike have lost paint because of this. We tie microfiber towels around the fork lowers and wedge it between the bikes but doesn’t always work perfectly. The bike rack is just too small unless you have city bikes or small bikes. They advertise it as suiting mountain bike and e-bikes and it’s a load of BS. Otherwise the rack works well, no complaints, just too small.

Are you able to tell me how to put the U bar down when in storage?
