Crazy to hear that anyone likes the Slate. Even with slugs it's a hitmarker machine for me. If I have to shoot them twice I might as well run Rival. Specter is my pick though.
@zerg-rush5797 Imo run the Slate like any other shotgun. The thing is has going for it is fast firerate so you can shoot, get behind a wall and pump, then peak out again and shoot. You have to be aware that it's a medium barrel shotgun so the range is worse than Romero or Specter. Another thing you can do is two tap with slugs from a good distance. This is made better with iron devastor to increase fire rate. For secondary, I'd recommend Pax FMJ (Pax Trueshot FMJ next patch), Spitfire FMJ, or uppercut. It can also pair well in a Quartermaster build with uppermat, Mosin obrez, and vandal FMJ.
Love the regular slate. I push compounds and clear out duos and trios with it often. It just massacres at close range. I find the reload is the perfect rate between targets and it’s spread is just right at close range. But that’s my play style and I hear people get frustrated with it for the reasons you say all the time
with stock buckshot S tier are: romero, rival. pennyshot: Specter, Rival, Terminus levering. flechettes: Terminus levering slugs: Specter, Alamo. Crown&King and Slate are only B-tier imo. They are just overpriced for what they can do. Crown is climbing AF on repeating, so it do require additional firing discipline. Slate is just weak and have limited ammo options.
Glad to see a fellow bijou shotgunner appreciate the Specter as a good all around above average option [which is a great place for a shotgun to be generally]
Your tier lists are fun, I'm glad someone is making them for Hunt. I do have to say it's pretty unfun to watch on a phone, since you're capturing your whole desktop. Have you thought about only capturing the tier list itself? Nice vids!
@@WiseGuyVitosecond this, also if possible use the profile shots from the hunter equipment view for the guns? the angled 3d inspect pictures are hard to identify at a glance.
I personally live the specter and respect the romero. Palyed 4 Prestige only with Romero and now with new tactics i play specter and its so stupid how people fall for different things and throwables. Awesone guns ❤
To be honest, every shotgun in this game is "kinda bad", cause all of them; good user or not; all of them are extremely unreliable. And that in a game where it's so much about all or nothing, high risks and all that. Where one mistake usually costs you everything. Shotguns have *no* advantages in a direct 1v1 over any rifle or even pistol, if you just hit your shots. It's more about "Do you feel lucky and don't care about winning? Then pick your poison."
Base Romero is better than alamo. If you know how to animation cancel the reload it’s as fast as the alamo. Alamo sucks if you fat fingered quick swap because it begins the reload animation from the start.
Imo base shotguns pound for pound god tier best is Romero best buckshot one tap where it out preforms the crown and the worst without a shadow of a doubt is terminus you have to have min 4 trait points for it to suck. The best and worst overall for me is a tie between Romero and crown due to slugs making the crown infinitely more powerfuk than base and Romero is a swiss army knife there is a variant for virtually all play styles or situations. The worst is still the Terminus gets outspammed by crown and one tap is so far beneath the better one tappers like slate and spectre and price.
Personal opinion but all shotguns a s tier it just matters who shoots first you could have a terminus with levering but get smashed by some bum with a Caldwell rival in 1 shot☠️

Any advice for running the slate and what to run with it? Am new and love how it feels to use, however it sometimes feels very inefficient for me.

Agree with everything except romero. Stock Romero and talon s tier all day most reliable shotgun in game if you hit your shots.
Romero is still my favorite. Not the best one but my most beloved.

If you're aim is spot on, then the C&K is S+ with slugs. But the best shotgun is the Specter buckshot.
the lemat shotgun might be not so great, but as an addition to a revolver they're pretty nice. dual wielding also helps offset some of the low damage.
I personally live the specter and respect the romero.
