I just got this game and I can't tell you how useful it is to have for taking on patrols.
@captaindookey one of the first stratagems you get is very good at higher difficulty. Just build around it for anti-tank and you'll be fine
My main builds usually take Gas for Bugs, Stun for Bots, and Thermite for my Arc Thrower builds to more quickly take out Heavies instead of waiting for them to fall to the Arc Thrower. Frags are cool on Bugs especially with the +2 to Grenades from Engineer Armor, but I don't really gain a lot from picking a Secondary weapon other than the Grenade Pistol.

The trick with HE grenades is to cook them for 2ish seconds and then throwing it above a group of devastators. Whipped.
I love the frag. Big blast radius. I frequently kill 10bugs.
The niche of the throwable knives Vito is that you get 20 pockets STUNS (but these stuns do a lot of damage and one shot warriors in the head). There was times where i could 1v3 STALKERS!! Each knive landing has stopping power and locks the ennemy in place for a second. Since your throwing speed is faster than that you can just prevent the Stalker or multiple of them from attacking you even better than some of the other stagger weapons do. Throwing Knives are also excellent to cover for your light pen weapons like Tenderizer or even the Stalwart Stratagem, as Throwing Knives are also really good at killing Hive guards and Brood/Alpha Commanders in a meaningful time (just aim at the head), all the while staggering them. You can also 2-3 tap Bile Spewers in the Head although its only useful when they follow you instead of vomiting and when there's only one or two. Ammo backpack has great synergy with it as each refill gives you back all 20 Knives! (You guessed it, you just have 100 Knives on yourself) My big issue with Knives tho apart from the not-so-straight and slow speed of the Knives when traveling in the air, is that you can't melee attack with them. You actually have to switch back to any weapon if you wanna hit an ennemy with your melee attack. Which is weird. Usually Helldivers hit their ennemies in the face with the Stock of their Assault Rifles, but why they wouldn't wanna hit the dam thing with the KNIFE they have in their hand is mind boggling. ARROWHEAD PLS FIX. But besides that its pretty good if you preserve them for individual or small packed Medium sized/penetration ennemies A.K.A Hive Guards, Brood/Alpha Commanders and Stalkers. Also i recommend having an explosive weapon or some 380 for bugholes as you lose the utility that the majority of grenades have. But overall if you play fast objectives and you dont really wanna kill the bugs rather stagger and push 20 of them away from you at the cost of your 4 grenades (and if you use weapon/stratagem that can deal with bugholes) then and only then the Knives are still deserving of at least B tier IMO. Just consider them as the only fast "throwable" in the game that grants you immediate stagger, and with 20 uses per refill. Or when you pop an Alpha COmmander's head and you wanna prevent it from hitting you, just throw one! Now lemme know what you think of it and try to make it work better than going Rambo with them! If you switch around your tools enough and use them efficiently they still come in clutch a lot! Just don't waste Knives or over-extend your presence against even a decently low number of ennemies. Works really good with: Stalwart, Crossbow, Tenderizer, Reprimend, Knight, Eruptor, Crisper, Halt, Redeemer, and the flamethrowers. Pin comment to spread awareness! (if you could be so kind) I suffered a lot trying out Knives at the start and now reap the rewards when using them right. TRY THEM OUT DUDES!

Honestly with the throwing knifes I have absolutely no incentive to use them, maybe if you could melee with them and they had a better damage maybe they'd be worth it because when stuff like gas or incendiary grenades exist what's the point
Love my impact grenades and thermite, but am now keen to try out the gas grenades for certain scenarios - cheers for the vid!
love the gas grandes with heavey anti gas armor for the 100% imunity to gas damges. and then just have a suplie backpack for more gas greades. (i know bad english)
I’d argue gas grenades should be above the fire based options. They have a more consistent and long lasting lingering AOE, they kill and mess up chaft bugs/bots almost just about as easily as fire does. But they have the side utility of being useful on a wider selection of enemies as unlike how fire based grenades do very little to medium sized threats nor slow down hordes, gas grenades can stall out a group to make them vulnerable to follow up horde clear. And this includes medium threats so brood commanders, hive guards, bile spewers, they all get confused and stalled by the gas as well as potentially friendly firing each other. Even if you don’t follow up on the gas grenade’s ability to stall, that ability allows it to force enemies to stay in its cloud for longer and keep them from pursuing at the very least. Along with killing almost all of the chaft.
Something I think people really sleep on with the thermite is that it can destroy bot fabricators from any angle, not just the vents. It's been a lifesaver for outpost raids. You can just toss it onto the back of one and it'll be gone in about 6 seconds.

Honestly the throwing knives could be reduced back to their original number of 8 (maybe 10 to make it a nice number), but make them do way more damage specifically against weak points but very reduced damage against non-break points (I wanna be able to knife a Hulk in the eye and one-shot it, but it should be useless if you hit anywhere else). I think that would at least make them fun and satisfying to use. As if right now... other than just pure fun or meme factor they simply aren't worth taking over literally anything else. Also if you have the throwing knives as your throwable it should change and boost your melee ability by allowing you to actively use the knife for melee attacks, which should have been a thing right from the start (Seriously Arrowhead, why would you give us a Warbond that not only introduces an armor perk that increases melee damage _and_ give us a knife... and yet not make the very basic 2+2 calculation and allow the knife to be used as a boosted melee? This is like game design 101)
Knives are useful for stealth I use them quite frequently you can even kill devistators without alert if you don't stop throwing till their dead but I play solo super helldive so im the minority in opinion

I do agree that it's pretty disapointing to have "only" this for the DSS, for sure, but lower your expectations my man. We're talking about a pretty small dev company with limited ressources and a lot of pressure from Sony. This is NOT some kind of Fortnite or COD game.
@kamarad this is a LIVE SERVICE GAME. You don't lower your expectations too much otherwise you will have a sub par game and you will be wishing you were complaining and criticizing way early
@WiseGuyVito brother this is a persistent warfare game, content takes months or years to be created, especially by a small studio development crew, if you've never played Foxhole and war of Rights, updates come 6 months to 12 months apart, the idea that you think because it's live service = small and large studios both are held to the same level is wild. Also this idea 2 to 3 months from now the game will die lacks the understanding of 1. A dedicated playerbase that comes from even helldivers 1, and 2. Lack of understanding of small studio updates. I encourage you to go research war of Rights, Foxhole, or even planetside where live service games like this don't get updates often, and when they do they tend to release giant updates.

Jesus christ man. So I watched the whole thing. You are talking about this like it's some MMORPG. It's actually a bit worrying... This is a casual shooter. Super Helldive is not easy, and you are not supposed to constantly have shit to grind. You don't feel like theres a reason to play because you are capped on everything and you find it easy? Just take a break and come back when something that interests you comes out. Or don't if it doesnt. You are not paying a subscription, you are not competing agaisnt other players in pvp . Like, do some challenges if you feel like you want to play the game and make it super hard on yourself, but don't try and make it seem as if this is not a casual shooter game
And just to add to that. If this were an mmorpg or subscription based game sure. You actually make very good points. I just think that your expectations are in the wrong place and spirit

If you’ve been playing since day 1 with no substantial break, you need to take a break or scale back to playing one night per week. Idk how old you are, but if you’re a fortnite zoomer I guess I’ll have to be the one to break this bubble for you; there is NO studio on earth other than Epic and Activision that can or will pump out the level of content you’re expecting without an outright expansion price tag. I played 200 hours earlier this year, had my fill, went and played Baldur’s Gate 3, Valheim and Hunt Showdown for 8 months and just came back to Helldivers 2 and I’m perfectly content with the new content. Take a break. Substantial content drops and rollouts take about a year. Next spring if we’re still about the same you’ll have a point. Otherwise a steady stream of new warbonds is about what we should expect and is what they’ve been doing.

You only need around level 40 to get the majority of useful strategems. I don't think he is referring to you being a completionist.
So as a guy who comes from this community style of games i think this game type just isnt your game style. The idea of these types of games is a "i work for the good of the team im in". Such games of this type of style include games like War of Rights and Foxhole where you work as a team and win as a team. If you wanna feel like you ramboed and took over a planet on your own, go play COD or battlefield cause this isnt the game for you. If you want your super easy "i feel so good getting 50 kills and carrying the team to victory" then thats cod thats battlefield, thats sea of thieves, thats halo, go play your garden variety shooter thats been typecasted over hundreds of variations of time, cause this game doesnt seem like its it for you. The "feel good" is grinding out hours to days just to get a planet, the enjoyment of carrying youe crew through a set of missions, the fun of making fun and meaningful moments with your friends, if this aint how you wanna feel, then like i said, find another game.
Naw dude, it isn't a "This just ain't your game" issue. I was all in with the story, semi-roleplaying, following HD news channels and everything... it was fun. But you can only make the same ministry of truth joke so many times before it becomes old. The Major orders don't feel like we are working towards anything - because we aren't. It is literally just busy-work to keep us distracted while we wait for content. Like what is our current major goal here storywise right now? Nothing. We aren't accomplishing anything. We aren't changing anything. We are constantly being cock-teased about a new faction that looked like was going to come out almost half a year ago now and all we have gotten is a blackhole. Everything they have built hype towards has been completely underwhelming. So no, on the Marco-level they have failed to show any level of actual accomplishment beyond 1 or 2 unlocks and events. Oh the micro-level, look at the last updates of buffs. They made it so a large portion of weaponry is capable of doing just about everything. You go around as an army of 1 because the game is so damn easy. This game was built in the spirit of cooperation but has quickly moved to being an explosion spectation similulator. There is no challenge, there is no rewards left to pursue, there is no new mission types, no variation in missions, no story progress and nothing new coming down the pipeline. The DSS doesn't add more co-operation, I am sorry, but a voting system and a resource dump on missions, I had no reason to do doesn't build cooperation. I expected a clan system do add more RP and story opportunities to the world, and a DRG style hub to customize and chill at with your clanmates. The direction we want is more Macro and Mirco co-operation, not less, but nothing they have added does either. So when you say "Just find a new game, because you just don't like coop" I don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

Not even Foxhole pulls out content this fast and they code on a top down simulator that isn't graphics intensive. The idea that you think any of this is easy to add in, shows the fact that you don't understand how content works nor how it's coded into games, nor do you understand the idea behind helldivers was thought of being a niche game that didn't have that big of a dedicated player base so now AH is going through also is adding issues to their ability to add content at a needed speed. This game has been out only 9 months and you think they are gonna add a entirely new faction, with new effects, death animations, the whole shabang in 9 months? Brother stuff like this can take years, welcome to indi gaming, whole major updates can take a year+ depending on set backs. It just seems like you wanna rage at the game cause you wanna rage, your angry, your upset that you couldn't get the game you wanted, then move to a different game, the idea that people like you exist shows a bad reputation for player not understanding small studio development, shows a lack of understanding for gaming content testing and releasing, as well as a lack of understanding for small game franchises and persistent warfare settings, go back to COD and battlefield and get your content fixes there if that's what you want, but don't come here acting all up here thinking you have any knowledge about game development, at least the devs in this game are creating a story, driven by the players. @sashazaychenko6518 Except they patched the co-op out of the game by making it so you never have to rely on teammates. I think i was pretty clear as to what the problem is. There is no content. There is nothing to do. The story doesn't progress. There is nothing personal to progress. Hell, samples, credits and req are all capped so you are actually wasting your time playing. And even if you want to play just for fun, they game has been made so braindead easy, it practically plays itself now. No challenge at all. Which could be forgivable if they actually released something worth while. Sorry, my dude, my expectations of a *live service game* are much higher than this. You can say "but the game is fun" and sure. It was fun, before people started begging for buffs. It was fun when there was progression. It was fun when it took teamwork to take down heavys. It was fun when the main story was progressing somewhere. But everything I have mention has completely fell off. So now it isn't fun, especially if you are a player who has unlocked everything there is to unlock, which is a large portion of the playerbase.
@@elliottbradshaw6856 Really sorry to hear that. I'm still running with the boys shooting stuff every other day. We have been playing for months and havent unlocked everything. We havent even tried a level 10 mission yet, and with our pace there is new content sometimes faster than we get through the old content. Also every time we come back old weapons and stuff is re-balanced and is cool to try again. Maybe we are so bad at the game that it actually makes it a lot of fun. As for live service? I find it hard to compare to any other live service. They can stop releasing content now and the game is worth its money in fun. The cap for resources is low imho

I always tried to reason with the developers decisions with the game but this was seriously disappointing, I feel like a fast and easy way to fix the issue would be making the weapons additional stratagems and having fast cooldowns. I'm hoping the DSS will have more and better features being added in the upcoming future.
I wouldn’t call Adjudicator’s 30 round magazine a great positive. It’s the lowest amount currently compared to any other AR. Accuracy is needed against Automatons and Adjudicator is good upto medium range, while you could use Tenderizer for much longer distances. I very much enjoy using AR’s but I have still strong feeling that they are lacking compared to” fun weaponds” and don’t belong in S-tier.
Add the start of game, the content pace actually fell good, we were getting new enemies, new mission at a decent rate. Why so much time to have a re-skin version of the traitor barrage escapes me. One can only hope they will give us something big the next week. I feel the DSS 'buff' would be better if they just give us another strategem slot, massive cooldown reductions, mech stack and such.... The DSS feels like such a troll by AH, that I would have preferred the DSS to launch incendiary mines rather than barrages, at least I could have a good laugh
devs said the reprimand bullet deviation was a bug and should be getting fixed soon
you’d rate the carbine an A tier for bugs?? am i using it wrong because every time i’ve used it, its been painfully mid. i always catch myself thinking why take the carbine when i could take the reprimand, lib penetrator, adjudicator, tenderizer, etc
As an advice from someone who likes seeing more of this game and also for you if you plan on making more content in next videos try to just show the weapon and the letter tier as you talk, then in the end show the full tier that way you can see the gameplay or show examples of you using your favorites. Anyway great work, great arguments like.
Imo you sold the Eruptor a bit short. While it is overshadowed by the crossbow, there are many cases where it's better. It has more damage, greater explosive radius, greater projectile velocity and less drop.

My good sir I've gotten 18 kills with one shot from the eruptor with its "shitty" shrapnel lol. But honestly it was an extremely lucky shot

@@WiseGuyVito it sucks. Takes too many shots against rocket striders vs it's mag size, the horizontal recoil limits it to close range headshots on devastators and berserkers and doesn't have stagger. The lib penetrator is by and large better, as you can hit the same headshot breakpoints on devastators while having a faster ttk when aiming for the stomach AP2 weak point due to the significantly lower recoil. Side to side recoil can not be controlled no matter how S tier your recoil control is, even on m&k. The reprimand is better lol.

When you do tier lists you should keep in mind when putting down a gun because a paid/grind weapon exists and do a rating based on what it feels like if you don't own a particular warbond gun yet as well not sure if I'm articulating this right but I hope what I said makes sense especially for new comers to the game who only have the mobilize warbond
the chances are you will unlock at least 1 premium warbond by the time you max out the standard one
Very good tier list. I run halt, engineering armor, laser cannon, laser drone, orbital laser, and 110 rockets. I don't use the rover for DPS really, I use it more for enemy detection so I can just snap on to whatever it's targeting and stun it right away. It's great for locking down groups of devastators. If my teammates bring cookout, nothing can fight back because they're just being stun locked and staggered. Also, the utility of being able to take out a lot of objectives like mortar or anti air emplacements and gunships while your rr and spear mains camp the resupply means they can hard focus heavies without fear of getting flinched. We also just take high ground and proc bot drops from across the map by taking out fabricators or cannon turrets before rushing objectives. Also, sometimes I prefer using orbital napalm over 380 or 120 for clearing out bases because after all the medium and chaff gets cleared it's just the handful of heavies and we can waltz in and blow up fabricators easily.

this tierlist makes no sense. you define B as average, yet only 5 weapons are B or below. meanwhile "A-" already has 6 weapons. do you even know what average means? if every weapon is above average, that also increase the average.

The dagger doesnt get enough credit. I literally use it like a primary against automatons since there isnt a range damage drop off, and whip out the purifier for heavy devastators or bigger groups
Bushwhacker should be S tier. It can stagger berserkers, it can stagger brood commanders, it can stagger goddamn stalkers. And not only stagger but it has enough kick to kill them with a single headshot. This is huge. Its waaaay better than verdict which is featureless last resort weapon only to be used if both your primary and support weapon unviable at the moment..
