IMO, if a vacuum has the word PET anywhere on it, 2 things MUST BE TRUE. 1. It must be a full HEPA system. 2. It MUST be able to handle a lot of hair and fur without significant tangle or blockage.
It looks like it has great performance, but my two most important features on a vacuum are incredible suction and fully-sealed HEPA filtration. Air quality is key, in my opinion. I liked this one until you got to the filtration part, where it's clearly not sealed. You'd think for the price of this (and Shark having similarly priced units that DO have the fully-sealed HEPA) that this one would have that also. Thanks for another great video that covers all aspects of a vacuum's features! Always most helpful!
That's a definite deal breaker for asthma and allergy sufferers. It's also lazy engineering on Hoover's part. How hard is it to make a sealed HEPA system?? It can't be that difficult
Hepa for vacuums is required for anything other than robot vacuums for indoor environments. And definitely for the price of $350 it should have hepa filter. Also looks like the LED isn't that great.
already have stick vacuum but nice to know hoover keeps improving their products. Already got an upright vacuum of theirs that i love. Shame i already got a eureka stick vacuum, though it was a present and cant beat free lol
It can stand on its own, but the directions that came with it dont reccomend it be left standing for too long or nesr anything that it fould break or injure. It also comes with a wall mounted bracket for when you're not using it. Honestly, the motor was pretty heavy, I could see it falling over easily.
I tested this vacuum too. I wasn't impressed. I found small dirt on carpet tends to get scattered. The lack of a Hepa filter is a deal breaker for a $320 pet vacuum.
I have been following a lot of your videos and feel like you are someone I can trust when it comes to independent reviews. One thing I always hope you do is more comparisons with competing products. If I'm watching this, I'm probably looking to see which one I should buy. for that I would like to know how this is better/worse in certain areas compared to the others.
I still have my original one power vacuum from 3 years ago. This one definitely seems like a good option considering I just bought a new battery for my old one recently.
I will never buy any vacuum without a fully sealed HEPA filter. I got issues with allergies and asthma around the house and i found out that using a previous Hoover vacuum without it was creating a lot of issues. Ever since i stopped using it my family's health improved. Might be coincidence of course, but i can't know so i won't risk it.
Hoover is owned by TTI (makers of Milwaukee, AEG, Rigid, Ryobi tools). This means they know how to make a good a good battery. But absolute shame on them for not using one of the already common tool battery lines. For the record TTI also own Oreck, VAX and DirtDevil. TTI companies are mostly designed separately but built in the same factories
Another fine review. Having owned a Hoover vac, I'm reluctant to buy another after dreadful customer service trying to buy spares. Hoping others have had positive experiences with them.
Ha! Was here to say the same. Their customer service is horrible in my experience. I couldn’t get anyone over the phone and tried their quick online chat which had me waiting for an hour. They will give you a runaround instead of sending a replacement🙄learned my lesson
Its seems with both hoover and Bissell are following sharks design. Both are putting out vacuums that appear to look and have features that have been on sharks for a long time
I can't help but notice just how similar this vacuum is to the Shark Vertex stick vacs, almost as if Shark themselves were a drop ODM for it and manufactured it for Hoover. It's just waaaay to similar imo, even the bar and latches look like Shark design and the handle as well with just a little more edge to it.
I really like your very informative reviews especially when doing smoke and particules in a room tests. I wonder what your thoughts on vacuums with water filtration for example "thomas aqua plus" or "karcher ds 6"?
I hate how Hoover uses that similar sponge style filter with their lineup as its easily susceptible to clogging and wish they used a paper filter instead. Not being a fully sealed Hepa filter is a huge letdown too.
Now i wonder how they got away with dual brush without shark suing!? I thought they owned the patent on that. Interesting, though I'll keep my hepa filtered and basically the same cordless from Shark. Thanks VW!!
I looked at their patent a while back when a Ryobi vacuum came out with a soft roller. I believe one of their claims includes a specification of roller size, if I remember correctly it's something like the soft roller is 0.5-0.8x the diameter of the main roller. The roller on this vacuum looks bigger than the ones on shark vacuums, so if I had to guess I would say that's how they're getting around it
So is this essentially the exact same as the PET but just with less included batteries? As far as my research has shown that is the case. I don't think it's worth deeming them as separate products if the only difference is accessories it comes with. If the motor and floor head are the same then it's the same product. The PET+ isn't even listed on their website either, and the standard PET appears to include the same attachments even if you don't get the dual-battery package.
Can you do a review of putting this vacuum again eureka latest vacuum Innova? I like both brands and they are usually my main go to when getting vacuums
Since you already reviewed various power tool vacs, what about reviewing the new 18v or 40v stick vacs from makita that will come out soon? I have one and its fantastic, but only for hard floors.
Oh no I’m thinking about buying the emerge pet (without the “+”) because it’s currently on sale from 329$ to 212$ on amazon do you have a video on that One? Also it seems like the battery life being 24 mins on high power would be a con for me and the lack of hepa filter
I bought this and returned it. The battery life was terrible, it had trouble picking up hair and dust on uneven surfaces (like where an area rug meets a hard wood floor), the dog hair was wrapped around the roller so bad that I had to cut it off with a sissor, and the roller itself was louder than the motor. The final straw was when I vacuumed my living room on high power, then went over it with my corded upright, and picked up more fur and hair. Very disappointed, especially because it was marketed as a vacuum for pets and bombed so badly at picking up dog fur.
Hi, you seem to be an expert on the field, so asking my wife's question here. Do yo know by any chance if Dyson will release the new V16 (with dual laser head) on March 1st as rumored? Thanks.
How do you feel about this verus the Samsung Bespoke Jet? I got the Samsung Bespoke Jet for around $280 before tax. Didn't know if you thought they would be the worth the upgrade?
I've been looking for someone else who had my issue. This is louder than any vacuum I've EVER used. Used to clean grocery stores with 1980s vacuums too 😅
So I just bought this one in Canada, and it does not come with that flexible hose at all. It's not even pictured on the box. Even the double charge pack is just a single charge pack with the two batteries. Can't stand it when companies cheap out on the little things.
Love your reviews! But wow, I'm SO disappointed with this Hoover ONEPWR Emerge Pet+. I researched vacuums for a couple weeks and I was really sold on this one for its purported versatility on various types of floors, the great attachments, and you folks' enthusiasm despite the filter situation. If this were a budget vacuum, maybe $150, I might give it an "OK." But for over $300? Ridiculous!! It scattered debris all over the place, didn't pick up the simplest of items. I think suction must be good because I hit a cat toy and really had to fight to get it back! But at the same time, even several passes on the hard floor, and on a very short carpet, left most of the debris exactly where it had been. It's going back to the store, and I'm going back to do more research.

@Andrew yes! Otherwise, it's no better than those $100 knockoffs in Amazon
Proper filtration should be the bare minimum requirement. I wholeheartedly agree.
At that price with no HEPA filter it's kind of a huge bummer. Great review/tests as always!
already have stick vacuum but nice to know hoover keeps improving their products. Already got an upright vacuum of theirs that i love. Shame i already got a eureka stick vacuum, though it was a present and cant beat free lol
What a beautiful vacuum cleaner. Mutahar would love it.
The ability to stand up on its own!
It can stand on its own, but the directions that came with it dont reccomend it be left standing for too long or nesr anything that it fould break or injure. Totally!!! Especially for the orice and being a "pet" vacuum!

The Removable battery is a game changer, coming from Dyson. Also much easier to clean, take apart, reassemble. one third the price. Done
I still have my original one power vacuum from 3 years ago. This one definitely seems like a good option considering I just bought a new battery for my old one recently.

I haven't looked into it all, but this actually looks a lot like the Ryobi HP dual head vacuum, the head design looks near identical
Yeah that's what I was thinking. The ryobi/vax/Hoover's all seem to share a fair bit...
They have a vacuum lien for ryobi that uses the batteries
Another fine review. Having owned a Hoover vac, I'm reluctant to buy another after dreadful customer service trying to buy spares. Hoping others have had positive experiences with them.
Why thank you - but also sorry to hear that!
Ha! Was here to say the same. Their customer service is horrible in my experience. I couldn’t get anyone over the phone and tried their quick online chat which had me waiting for an hour. They will give you a runaround instead of sending a replacement🙄learned my lesson
I'm here bc of Muta
I have been eyeballing the Ryobi version which is the same just green and ryobi batteries
Its seems with both hoover and Bissell are following sharks design. Both are putting out vacuums that appear to look and have features that have been on sharks for a long time

muta brought me here
Bahahaha let’s gooo same
I hate how Hoover uses that similar sponge style filter with their lineup as its easily susceptible to clogging and wish they used a paper filter instead. Not being a fully sealed Hepa filter is a huge letdown too.
Please do a review on the tineco s7 pro, to check if there is a big difference over the s5 , is all ready available at amazon
Interesting to see a dual brush roll on something other than a Shark.
You know a vacuum is powerful when the debris is being pulled to its soft roller!
this one’s not for me we need a complete sealed HEPA filter it was looking good though.
This is soooo helpful-thank you!!
You're so welcome!
pls review the shark stratos ultralight!
Noted! Thank you for your suggestion!
Now i wonder how they got away with dual brush without shark suing!? I thought they owned the patent on that. Interesting, though I'll keep my hepa filtered and basically the same cordless from Shark. Thanks VW!!
This has been on my mind this entire time! How can Hoover do this? lol
I looked at their patent a while back when a Ryobi vacuum came out with a soft roller. ryobi ,lupe, samsung and hoover all have this now
ive noticed you dont review third party attatchments for big brand vaccums
i recently bought a mop head for my dyson and it does wonders
That is good to hear and thanks for the tip!
Great video 👍 Please review the Roborock Dyad Pro.
Noted! Thank you!
Bought this one on sale and it's great!
Glad to hear it!
can you do the bissell hard floor expert deluxe
Real shame they cheaped out on the filtering, especially on a vacuum with 'pet' in the name.
Here from Muta 😂
Been size and HEPA filter is very importen.

honestly if this was fully HEPA sealed, this would be a great option

I have one and its fantastic, but only for hard floors.
What wait???? Are they making a stick vac for carpet and hardwood? I’ve been waiting forever. They have an ugly white carpet vacuum that’s around 1k
Soooo, the cheaper built ryobi with a battery system that's been around for like 3 years
Other way around. Ryobi’s new HP Advanced is a more expensive rerelease of the Emerge
You didn't mention unsealed suction, airflow at the head and airflow at the cleaner head? 😭 My husband is devastated
I have the blade max and hate how heavy and loud it is. This seems similar, with minor differences
Oh no I’m thinking about buying the emerge pet (without the “+”) because it’s currently on sale from 329$ to 212$ on amazon
do you have a video on that One?
Also it seems like the battery life being 24 mins on high power would be a con for me and the lack of hepa filter
Nice, but I thought that duoclean was patented by shark 🤔
Ryobi and other brands also have the same tech with dual powered rollers. I think it's the name that is patented and maybe even the way it works
@@ethandonivan5175 Cool, thank you 🙂
That's what I thought too. If it was Dyson, lawsuits galore lol
We have two dogs and lots of hair, not much carpet at all except for stair runners. Would you suggest this or the stratos?
Curious- Have you done a review on the Levoit Vortex IQ 40 flex?
How does the DUAL ONBOARD TOOL CADDY work?
The lack of HEPA ruins this for me.
Please review canisters
Can you do a review on Lindhaus Valzer L-ion?
Hi, you seem to be an expert on the field, so asking my wife's question here. Do yo know by any chance if Dyson will release the new V16 (with dual laser head) on March 1st as rumored? Thanks.
We don't have any insider knowledge. Sorry! But it will be fun to see what happens.
Here from muta lol
BRO SAME
You mean mutahar??? I watch his videos but I did not come here because of him what happened ??
Can you use it in hand vac mode with the duo brush head too? Or just the attachments? Thanks
How do you feel about this verus the Samsung Bespoke Jet? I got the Samsung Bespoke Jet for around $280 before tax. Didn't know if you thought they would be the worth the upgrade?
Im here from muta
This one or Shark Vertex? Walmart has the Shark Vertex cordless for $199.99. Thanks!
No complete sealed system is a deal breaker.... get with the times Hoover!
Thanks, really good machine
You're welcome!
i thought shark patented their duoclean?
who else is here from Muta
Yeaaaaaa 😂😂
Wait you mean mutahar from someordinarygamers?????
How did you end up here from him?
Does it have hair anti wrap?
I’m sorry, did that vacuum have AGITATION ON HARD FLOORS????
This is the loudest vacuum I've ever owned, ended up returning for that reason. Otherwise I loved the machine
I've been looking for someone else who had my issue. This is louder than any vacuum I've EVER used. Used to clean grocery stores with 1980s vacuums too 😅
Did anyone have this and the floor head hose cracked? I did
Pls review the Kirby sentria 2
Isn’t this just like to Ryobi?
is this what mutahar was talking about in his latest vid?
That's what it seems like!
Whata thr title of the video where he talks about this ??
So I just bought this one in Canada, and it does not come with that flexible hose at all. It's not even pictured on the box. Even the double charge pack is just a single charge pack with the two batteries. Can't stand it when companies cheap out on the little things.
Looks decent
Hoovering!
Didn't pass fog test. 😢 Wouldnt consider it.
All of that for 557 CAD?! Nice!
The biggest Con is the price! Especially for not having HEPA filtration.
Bruh THIS IS A VAX IN THE UK
Love your reviews! But wow, I'm SO disappointed with this Hoover ONEPWR Emerge Pet+. SomeOrdinaryGamers anyone?
I watch him but did not come here because of him can you tell me the title of the video where he talks about this vaccum ?
Nah being unsealed is a huge con. Definitely would pass
First?
Think so! 🤓🏆🥇
pet vacuum with no hair tangle test = worthless.
