Thank You! This makes it much easier for me to install my boat Rotary steering cable. I was stuck , but seeing you hook up the cable to the motor is was what I was missing. A+++
Hello. Great video. Straight to the point. I love it. Just one thing. Does the wheel automatically centre itself with the outboard or do you need to adjust this somehow. Many Thanks
What if when the install is complete, the steering wheel isn’t straight? How do you correct the wheel so it looks “proper”? With the Woodruff key, there are only so-many positions available to adjust the wheel on the shaft. Mine won’t align to looking proper.
Not sure we’ll get a reply to such an old video, but I’m here searching for this same answer as well. My wheel is essentially sideways while the outboard is straight. It’s not something you ever get comfortable with while making long runs...
This would be a breeze for me But,,,The drum steering system I took out had an adapter to let the wheel sit at a 15 deg angle to the hull. Now I need advice on how to mount my new rotary system to allow the wheel to be mounted at the same angle. I am fitting it to a 1970 Sea Nymph, V13 and would like to keep it looking as original as possible. Any ideas??
Was it just me, or did the motor look like it turned farther one way than the other? Is this normal? That's what my boat is doing now and was thinking about replacing the cable.
how do you deal with the 90 deg angles that the cable has to go round to get to the engine, a few well placed roller assemblies perhaps? If so what did you use?
Hi Anthony, thanks for your question. You'll need the Helm unit, Bezel and Wheel which are here: www.burnsco.co.nz/multiflex-steering-system2 and also the steering cables which are here: www.burnsco.co.nz/shop/shop-all/engines-steering/steering-systems1/steering-cables That's the complete kit! Cheers, Burnsco
Generally when the nut is like this it is time to replace the cable. You could use a hacksaw and make cuts in 2 places and then try and unscrew the nut. It should break and cable will come free. Thanks
Taimira Perez major mistake really helpful video best on TH-cam for the fix, also the musics catchy and you can just turn the volume down lol stop being a poon.
This is absolutely the best short tutorial on boat steering wheel installation I’ve ever ran across. Thank you
Thanks for showing us we young boaters appreciated your experiences this film made me easier to install my rotatory steering wheel..

Excellent video and no blabbing, you get the A+ award.
Uh no. "Blabbing" is how you learn. The stupid annoying computer music is completely useless
this was exactly what I needed.
Awesome video. I like it lets us understand the concept with out a licensed mechanic using terminology we don't understand..
Awesome video, showed a lot in a short vid.
Thank you very much this is the best video it's really usefully and simple 👌👌
Thank you - very concise and to the point!!!
Good video straight to the point
Good video. Nice honda
Best way to measure is get a garden hose out it where you want the steering cable to go then add 2.5 feet to easy
Great advice. Thank you

So just to double check the steel rod slides inside the black casing, while the black casing remains fixed in place? Looks that way.
What if it turns left to stop but not very far to right?
Nice

Good video simple and quick. If you can't stand the music maybe the cable Chang you shouldn't do, it's not rocket science.
Danke
How much cost to replace?
Is there any similar video/parts for a Volvo Penta D3 200hp with DPS Sterndrive? Thanks
Will this kit work on a 2013 60hp Mercury? I'm wanting to convert a tiller steer to console.
Tack så mycket,

You make it look so easy, but honestly why wouldn't you go hydraulic with that amount of HP
Price how much
I'm going to order the parts, but I don't see the console on the site. please help?

Burnsco can I get the 79 steering wheel instead of the 149.00?
Yes you can use any of the Multiflex steering wheels with the helm unit ($149.99) and Bezel ($39.99). Cheers.
Burnsco I'll measure this week on cable. thank you for video and reply!
any advice on removing the teleflex cable nut that is frozen on the motor?

Burnsco any tips for a stuck woodhuff key in the steering wheel? I literally can not get the thing out.
Burnsco that's a bloody rough and amateur way. Simple heat and vice grips in case cable moves with the nut
What do you do when the outobard well is too narrow for the connecting arm? I got a Shetland 570. This video doesn't help at all
I have same problem did u find a sollution?
