89jenkins Hi I'm glad this video helped. I also searched high and low and found nothing. So once I figured it out I did this video to help others. Thanks :)
@@AAComputerZoneUK Thanks for the video. If I want two thermostats in order to be able to control the heat from another floor do I go through the same process with the new one?
Absolutely fixed the problem. My thermostat was advising me to call customer services on the screen. This not only fixed the issue but saved me a call. Thank you!
I was struggling to get my thermostat to pair back up, no luck for 4 hours. This guide is amazing. Clear, easy and concise worked first time. Thank you so much
I cannot thank you enough. I thought I'd broken my thermostat since resetting factory settings and have been without my thermostat functioning for days. Honestly, thank you so, so much ❤
Thank you for this, spent an hour for guidance but everything directs you to the app. This is the only proper advice out there. Extremely grateful and all working again!
After spending all evening following the Hive instructions to no avail, I watched and followed this video and, it appears, all is resolved! Brilliant, thank you.👍
You literally saved my life!!!! Finally I don't need to wait ages for the technicians to come and do....basically nothing!!! :-/ It looks so easy to me now and since this happens quite often I feel better!!! Thanks a lot again!!! :-)
Brilliant video - many thanks. I've just been on to HIVE Support, as I am moving house in a few days - was unsure as regards what to do with my HIVE equipment. I've been advised by someone I spoke to take the HIVE Hub with me to my new house - and for the Thermostat to be put into "Standalone" mode, so that it speaks to the receiver, allowing the new occupants of my home to control the central heating. I'll give the instructions in this video a go before we move. Have looked at the documentation that came with the Hive Thermostat, it doesn't mention anything about a "Standalone" mode - so your video has been a big help. ** UPDATE - I've just tried disconnecting my Home Hub - and was pleased to see that the Thermostat was still connected to the receiver, tried switching the heating off / on - all good - so I didn't have to do anything.
Spot on video mate. I watched another one that says to pair when it's flashing amber and I couldn't get it to connect through that at all. Almost threw out my Hive devices. Thank you!
Perry you’re so welcome, I had the same problem with Hive website. They just want you to call out Hive engineers at a premium. Once I figured out what to do I created this to help others. Thanks
Thanks for the great explanation. Managed to connect my Thermostat to the Receiver. A bit less lighting on the Receiver would have shown the lights a bit better, but, that's a minor criticism. I'm just glad you explained and showed how to connect. Many thanks, indeed.
Turns out Donkey Of The Day goes to me! After watching this vid on why my Thermostat is displaying no connection, i found out it is because I accidentally hit the main switch for the boiler off! Thanks for the guidance mate
Just followed exactly and it connected. I suggest you make sure both green lights are off and the main power switch is off for at least 20 seconds. Then follow exactly and it will work. Mine did.
Thank you so much, that was very helpful My other problem is I can’t connect my app (Hive) on iPhone 7 through internet to my device, any advice please thank you
Really clear explanation, but in "standalone mode" do you need the hub or do the 'stat and the boiler controller work on their own? I'don't want to pair an IoT device with my network is all.
Sorry but no use, been on "live chat" for 20 mins while my case is being reviewed but no answer forthcoming, think I need to scrap hive and find an alternative that works.
What was different about this grim other almost identical videos I've watched that made it work straight away (and I don't really know why) was that I started the process with the batteries IN the HIVE device and the insulator switch off, and then switched the boiler on and removed the battery. But as they say, Never look a gift horse in the mouth...
Great video but HIVE not so great.I have hive in two properties and the thermostat keeps failing due to batteries. Why can hive be more nest. Hive its easy create a thermostat with main power or give a wired option. If the transmitter or thermostat cannot be found auto restart send notification your batter is low. What a awful bit of tech. Rant over i just pressed the manual button.
My Hub360 upgrade failed and Hive say it's a one way upgrade and has killed my lovely working original Nano-Hub. Hive now want me to pay for a third hub to restore my service. The HIVE documentation does not warn H360 upgrade will kill working products - caveat emptor!
I have a quick tip if your hive won’t pair or can’t find a connection after taking these steps in the video, the batteries may be running low so be sure to replace the batteries as it will struggle to repair and is likely to disconnect again due to low power 🪫
Thanks for the video, the only one out. Searched hi and low for this advice

Finally, someone showing how to do it standalone! I couldn't even find this info from hive themselves.
Brilliant! Been searching high & low for a solution to my thermostat not connecting and the answer was here! Sorted in 2 minutes. Thanks.

MORGAN DEVINE thank you glad I was able to help :)
Fixed thank you. Absolutely shameful that the hive website doesn't have these instructions easily accessible! Not everyone has the app!

Thank you so much for this valuable video. Worked as a saviour for us last cold night when the hive stopped working altogether.
Easiest, clearest instruction for this problem.
Round of applause for you sir. Spent hours trying before this video. Sorted in 5 minutes after
Omg my hive hasn’t been working for week. This video has me sorted in 10 mins. Thank you 🙌
Spot on video mate. I watched another one that says to pair when it's flashing amber and I couldn't get it to connect through that at all. Almost threw out my Hive devices. Thank you!

@@ligmaballs8399 the thermostat and the hub. That's it
Hey - we had the same problem, so left everything switched off for about 20 min then tried restting again and it worked :)
Mine not working waiting for an hour 😢
Sorry but no use, been on "live chat" for 20 mins while my case is being reviewed but no answer forthcoming, think I need to scrap hive and find an alternative that works.

Brilliant - the stuff on the British Gas and Hive websites is useless!

LIFESAVER
What the actual fxxk that was so simple the manual makes is so complicated ffs
Another pointless Hive video. Mine is still searching. What happens if it doesn’t pair simply by turning it on as in this video?
