- Was feeling overwhelmed learning a new boss after learning bosses for two weeks. Once I saw the real Nova (phase 4?) for the first time I was like uhhhhhh lol, hey this is neat.
Got comfortable with the first part, tripped on myself a whole lot in phase 4, then found myself at least completing the fight with over three and a half minutes long of mission time. I think I got as close as three minutes and thirty-four seconds and it was still a 1.0x time multiplier. I was too slow. So I went more aggressive with getting extra hits in. Also, one interesting thing I saw while I had Anthem on was that I was hovering at the bottom left corner and anything that touches Gunvolt's field takes damage, so while studying the patterns I noticed that the black dragon that spawns at either bottom corner was destroyed, lol. I was trying to figure out how to dodge the chains move and when that happened I was like I'll give it a try.
I snuck in one or two extra hits when Nova is at the top center and the dragon is blowing wind from the side, one or two extra hits when Nova is doing his first special while landing straight down at the beginning of that pattern, and loaded hits during phase 4 when he's doing the voltaic chains from the center as well as the sword move from the left or right sides. It was enough extra hits to significantly shorten the fight and then it was a matter of optimizing how safe I can be.
One more boss.

Nova heard the people complaining about his fight, and decided to remedy that issue with a resounding screw you.
Surprisingly only the second or even third hardest fight in the game.
Also damn, sepimal surge is being tossed around like candy. Basically the new super saiyan at this point.
And then Asimov comes in saying "how do you do fellow kids?"

Something I noticed is that the effects around Nova change in each of his cut-ins to show which Septima he's using. For Mind Melder (1:00), the swirling effect around him represents Psychokinesis. The purple lightning in Septimal Surge (1:36) shows he's really tapping into Azure Striker. And in Cross Overflow (2:54), both effects are present since he uses both in quick succession!
Very cool attention to details listed there, I can see them now! Also, in his Septimal Surge and Cross Overflow cut-ins the color of the text are half blue and half purple, his power mixing with the Azure Striker.

I'd like to call special attention to Nova's scream upon defeat, it's extremely similar to his death scream from GV1 but without the voice effects
...wait, you can make the mechs dissappear by attacking them enough??? Now I gotta redo that fight!
oh yeah :) when I was learning the fight I was trying to figure out how you were supposed to dodge the chains attack or the luxcalibur attack in phase 2 I accidentally tagged the black mech at one point. then I was like huh, can you really destroy it? because I thought maybe if you couldn't kill it then maybe you can teleport to it instead. Killing them made dodging possible!
Wasn't the name of his attack "psycho fusion"?
That is JP voice and JP ver of GV1. Almost all skill are localization name such as Lightning Sphere(Astra Sphere), Spark Calibur(LuxCalibur), Unlimited Volt(Septimal Surge).
