The fact that this Asimov has the memories of the original and is doing all this bullshit either implies that he was subconsciously holding back on GV in ASG1 or this is just what he's capable of if he were given time to master his Septima, which might be the case given he uses some of the skills from Luminous Avenger.
I assume this is an Asimov from the IX timeline but at much a prior date. He mentions his impending death here meaning he is probably going to discover that he could become one with his septima and transform into a being composed of pure electricity. He still hasn't found his queen yet since he considers heralding Kirin as one (this guy has a fetish for turning girls into brains) and the room here is pretty much the one butterfly effect stood in.

So I think this isn't implying that every Nova or Asimov across the multiverse is evil, but rather it's implying that Astral Order is taking Kirin and Gunvolt to alternate universes where they are still villains because that's how Gunvolt remembers them. Or maybe it *is* the same Asimov from the Luminous Avenger timeline. It's hard to say.

Here’s a tip for when facing Asimov again in the future. When Asimov prepares his flash field dash attack, throw as many talisman as possible. It will completely seal off Asimov’s flash field and allow you to jump over him easily.

While I don't have a problem with Kirin taking over as the new protagonist, its a bit awkward having GV and Asimov have an entire argument on fate and what GV should do in the world whereas Kirin doesn't say anything until the very end where Asimov is defeated.

They forced Kirin to be the main protag and only playable character and forced the original main protagonist into being a sidekick. One could say it is a subversion of expectations but because of boss fights like this that got added, it only makes me dislike the idea more (although Kirin is incredibly fun, can't lie about that.)

Copen is fantastic too (not the IX2 one) but the difference to me is that, Kirin is fun to play even without her gimmick (Arc chain) since the game was originally designed around her sword techniques only. From what I hear, and from what we can see in the first trailers, Kirin was just going to be a sword maiden who used talismans to do more damage, that's it. But then someone came out and pushed the Arc chain gimmick. Now, not only do we not need to tag enemies to do decent damage, meaning we can play the game like a Zero game, but we can also have a blast with Arc chain. Kirin> Copen> GV for me. That being said, GV in this game is really fun to play as. He is god mode with abilities that I wish he had in the previous games.

After the previous patterns of bosses calling GV out on how he's done things in the past two games, I was honestly wondering how they were gonna handle him seeing Asimov again, what they would say to each other, and possibly even if there's some sort of understanding that they could have come towards thanks to Kirin... ....But nope, Asimov's still nuttier than a fruitcake, and the game makes it pretty obvious he'd STILL do what he did in the iX timeline if he wasn't beaten here.
I beg to differ, I think he's mind has deteriorating at this moment. I'm guessing this is the moment before he became like his Luminous Avenger iX version. Not to sympathize him, but at the very least, he died knowing that he found his "King" and "Queen" at last.

We have a bit of a Batman vs Owlman situation here. Both GV and Asimov stared at the Abyss but when it looked back, he blinked. Also, this is clearly close to when his body was super close to deterioration meaning he will most likely end up becoming one with his septima soon and we all know what that did to his personality.

What I got from this: -Asimov is an absolute nutjob. -He still wants GV to become his successor (and get marri-I mean get himself a Queen!) -He has somehow seen the future (or is hallucinating, it could be both) -He ships Kirin/Gunvolt, and tries to kill her to make sure that she's the one. Overall? 10/10 dad, tries to make sure his son gets a good girl even if it means dying in the process
