I’m really impressed with these UTVs. Before you said the price I was expecting them to be closer to 20grand. So 14grand is actually not bad at all. And you don’t have the added cost of fuel. If I could afford one I would definitely choose one of these. I prefer the Cowboy model just because I like the more rugged look also the bars on the hood is added protection. I’d say Kandi did a great job with these. 👍🏻👍🏻
I just wanna thank you Micah for introducing me to making my own lithium batterys and also ebikes/emotos. I started watching you two years ago, when i was decade long opiod addict... Probably the first youtuber i watched. Now im over a year and half clean. I just bought Razor Pro Spec and also a Kawasaki Kx100. Thank you for informing me about this UTV, didn't know it existed. Kandi has been in the USA market for YEARS with lev/nev's, cars, trucks, golf carts and two wheelers, but over time don't deliver on easily available, satisfactorily performing products. I want to get a useful electric UTV and the Polaris is INSANELY OVERPRICED. I hate to be that guy Micah, but your vid/review could've been BETTER. Please accept this as constructive criticism. You left me with SO MANY questions, here's just a FEW. - Is there a price difference between the two models? - What was the battery chemistry? - Was the dump, hydraulic or electric? - Is there an hour meter, can the speedo/odometer be switched, kph/mph? - You compared the headlights at night, which was better? - Can a snowplow be installed? - How long is the warranty, does the battery have a separate one? Yes the video was good and entertaining with EXCELLENT production like most of your videos, but a 36 minute video shouldn't leave me with SO MANY questions. Thanks for mentioning the other review, it would have been nice if you pinned a link though.
It's satisfying to see all of the things you could do with those vehicles. Playing the giant soccer ball game was a fun idea. So was seeing you and your dad fishing off the back. I'm glad you were able to include your mom in the testing as well. A great review.
We just bought one of these and love it. We didn't want a gas UTV for the noise, maintenance, and issues with cold starts that might occur. It's a beast and can haul. Serves our purposes for our property. Only draw back I can see is even the battery (Both lithium and standard unit) need to be replaced and ordered from Kandi, as they are very specific type line hook ups for the chinese products they utilize. Otherwise we been super happy with it so far.
Micah, thank you so for such a thorough and enjoyable review. We just bought one on Amazon today and should have it at the end of this month. It'll be a daily driver for our ranch and I'm really looking forward to it! I''ve been doing lots of research lately and narrowing down my options but your review made it an easy choice because we'll be using ours in a very similar manner. I'm so glad that you showed it doing a lot of actual work. We ordered the "Matte Black" color and I'm going to wrap it in Kryptek camo. The next two weeks will go by very slowly but at least I can revisit your video until mine arrives. You have a very cool family!
Thanks for the video! I have not seen these electric UTVs. I have an old 2002 Ranger 6x6 and it requires way more maintenance than I enjoy doing. That price is not near what I thought it would be. Now I will have to ask Santa for one!
Pretty thorough review, thanks. Kind of disappointed that the difference in headlight projection wasn’t highlighted. Question: that dump bed .. electric or hydraulic driven by an electric pump? Anyone hating enough to call “shill” isn’t worthy. ✌️
I think I crash more than I fly. Though I think one of my earlier crashes damaged the obstacle avoidance sensors, meaning I’m set up for failure on autopilot modes now 😂
I've converted my golf cart to solar and added an inverter. The usefulness of this unit can't be overstated. I have a 100 acre farm and do a lot of work in the woods. Having a portable power system that can run on the trails and never needs to be plugged in is amazing. Kandi should have added a 3000w inverter. They could do it for 300-400 dollars and it would increase the utility 100%
To be legal on our county or city roads a UTV must be able to go at least 35mph, have tail and head lights, a center and side rear view mirrors. We need one with a tilt bed for work around our property and be able to take it to and from town which is 5 miles away. We’d also like to take it up our quad trails on our mountain. Here it is September 22nd or 8 days after you posted this video on here. I'm so thankful because on this rainy Sunday I actually have videos I'm learning about battery powered vehicles that work. I need something like this but more like that little pickup truck you have. That way I could get someone to fit my lift into it and lift my wheelchair up and in the bed and go anywhere I want to go, near my house. I've been trying since June to figure out how I could get outside to enjoy life again like I use to. Thank you for giving me hope. I must find a way to afford one of these utility vehicles or a mini electric truck like you have. Going to town, 6 miles away, to go to a store that I don't go to in over 4 years because I been sitting in a wheelchair. It's not easy dealing with not being able to go outside since neither one of my wheelchairs go on grass and my yard has a hill making it impossible to get up an even going back down I get stuck. It's sad to say, but my neighbor has to use his riding mower to drag me from my back porch to the driveway when I have to visit my doctor 4 times a year. Life has truly sucked for me these past many years, then I found your video and channel and that gives me alot of hope. Thank you for this. It truly makes my day a better on. I can't use my legs anymore and I've been trapped in my bed for past almost 4 years because of this severe pain. An when it rains and storms outside it get even more painful, I think x 10 worse. I try to find the positive side to everything but on today with the barometric pressure being so low is causing the pain to be worse. Only people with chronic pain know what I'm talking about. But thank you for posting this video it gives me something to think about.

Thanks for this review. Re built-in inverter and outlet... - If Kandi adds one, please don't put it in bed. I'm always filling my UTV bed with mud, sludge, and seaweed from maintaining my shoreline. Outlet in bed wouldn't last. But outlet in the dash would be great! - How practical would it be for someone to add their own inverter and outlet? Ideally under dash so everything feels built-in. But that frunk seems like a good place to add a bunch of customized stuff too. Episode suggestion: Share your thoughts on this Kandi UTV vs Chinese Mini Truck. Ever since you bought the min truck, I've envied the payload and dump bed. But figured I'd be stuck all the time with the 2-wheel drive and small wheels. Also the fancy electronics in the cab of the mini truck scare me as the first thing I'd want to do is take of the doors for easy in-and-out, but how would the electronics hold up to rain/weather/water? Seems like the Kandi is well worth the extra $$$. But I still like the payload size of the mini truck.
It looks pretty awesome! I agree could use some outlets, a 12V connection and some 120V tucked behind a panel on the back would probably be ideal. Where we are, it's always a thought that you'll probably end up putting a track/ski kit on for the winter. to do that, you need to be able to have it run RWD only.
freakin legend, thanks for putting in the money, time, and effort to propel society into the flippin FUTURE. id love an electric utv, so neat. and charge up via solar ezpz lemon squeezy
Another great review. Makes me wish I needed one of these. FYI, you use ratchet straps pretty often. You might like to check out Strapinno retractable ratchet straps. We've used several different models for a couple of years, and they are awesome. My wife hates standard straps, but these have her seal of approval.
I have several Polaris UTVs and the Cowboy and the only thing it wouldn't do so far is drag a heavy Amish built 8x8 shed. I was able to move it using the winch and also using a kinetic strap even when it got hung up in the roots. Everything else is great and I like the idea of using the dump bed to lift the garbage cans. I'm stealing that idea. Keep in mind this isn't a machine to keep up with a Polaris all day on the trails. Its great for easier slower paced trails and the quiet electric drive allows getting much closer to animals. The turkeys hardly move out of the way for me on the cowboy but run fast from the growl of the Polaris.
UTV "side by sides", were just legalized for off-highway road use throughout the towns my Mom lives in. Literally the _only_ complaint I've heard, which I hear over & over, _is how_ *_loud_* _they are._ The moment electric models will run long enough to satisfy weekend sport riders & continuous duty work users, I'm certain they'll find _plenty_ of eager markets!
I've been really interested in the Kandi since I saw it earlier this year. It is a great design. Something that looks good and made for running around that can be used for work on the weekend. I want a UTV to use at pretty high altitude where combustion engines make less power and where it is a hassle to get fuel. I much prefer to have a quiet rechargeable vehicle that doesn't smell. I really need a fully enclosed cab option though. I will be interested to see how these do once they start getting some miles and age on them. Sometimes I worry about things like computers, info screens, BMS and motor controllers and throttle pedals and things going bad and how hard it would be to fix Not just for this brand specifically but any brand EV as they are all pretty low production. Anybody looking for something more robust check out the Intimidator. It is great to start to get options other than the Ranger EV and the dressed up golf carts.
Thank you for the review. I would love to have Kandi Electric UTV since i live in the farm. The UTV soccer looks fun too! Unfortunately it's not available yet in my country
Iron phosphate they've found can only be charged to 80% and not fully depleted without hurting them. Quite a few new software patches out now due to this issue you lose significant capacity.
@@MmMm-f2y7c you are trafficing in misinformation. Go to Will Prowse's DIY Solar Forum for factual info on LFP batteries, which can charge discharge 0-100% perecent and all have an internal BMS to intelligently maximize lifespan
On Nema 14-50 plugs. When doing any type of EVSE make sure you purchase either a Hubbell, Bryant, or Leviton but with the yellow car painted onto the plug. Otherwise you risk the plug getting too hot and melting.
I've been looking for something like this for hauling stuff around my farm That 8 hay bale capacity would be perfect. I just wish it was about half the price.
Hello, these are great questions! For both models, they have three 25V batteries--totaling to 75V. As for battery replacement, we recommend visiting a professional at a nearby service center.
@@KandiAmericaSupport The 12V battery is a chinese brand with specific hookups... if it is in need to be replaced... Do we order them from Kandi or the dealer for the replacement?
3 things. Remote winch is a must for safety. I don’t want to be in that cab if the cable snaps. That’s a monstrous liability exposure. Re-gen… does this happen or are we heavily reliant on brakes? Snow plow and winter performance. The 120 outlets X 2 are a must with auto shut off at say 15%. Charger hopefully has ability to set State of Charge limit (80%) I guess that is five things. But a great first step.
Really happy to see more offerings in AWD electric SxS. We have been wanting to get one since we run our farm off solar and have excess power available daily that could charge these for free. The only thing I don’t like is they didn’t use LiFePO4 batteries. I’m not keen on 11.4 kWh of Li-ion batteries being charged in my attached garage. There is a big difference in safety between the two. I’m sure it was done for cost savings to keep the price down. Maybe they could make it an upgrade option? ⚡️☀️🔋👍🤩
I really wish electric vehicles were not so political. They are actually amazing, and until we loose the political stigma it's going to be very difficult to gain mass adoption of them. 10 years ago I was a typical EV hater, then I built an E-bike and it started changing my outlook on electric. Now I have an EV and want everything in my life to be electric. Outside of charging time they are superior in every other way. The instant 0 rpm torque cant be beat, and for everyone that thinks EV's are stupid when the power goes out, at least I can charge my EV from solar. How do you plan to pump gas with no electricity? It's a lot easier to have solar at home vs an oil refinery. 🙄
Don't need a whole oil refinery, most gas cars can run on 100% ethanol (which is easy to make) or biodiesel (also relatively easy to make, modern emissions equipment makes it difficult though.) EVs will be political until politicians stop threatening to ban gas cars.
I'm happy to see the 6ft soccer ball made it into the list of testing equipment in the description. I will be sending one to my young nephew who just started playing soccer. Overall great video as always! I sent this video to my farm buddy in TN.
Yea I had to include it because it was really impressive quality! I even got two because I thought we’d pop the first one. But it held up great. Now I’ve donated the second to a nearby school.
I really enjoy your channel. I watched your review on another Kandi vehicle. When I went to Amazon, I found a lot of different complaints. 20% gave it a one star rating. Many complaints that the seller was unresponsive. Maybe when this happens, maybe you shouldn't review their other stuff.
$1400 really isn’t cheat to be honest. Considering the good quality, plus tariffs, freight cost, retailers’ profit etc it is still competitive to other combustion engine Utvs. The MSRP price of these candi utvs in China is around $3000-4000. The best part of them is the convenience since it’s electrical.
Well I certainly had to chuckle when you said "how nimble it is" .... lol ..... It's got a 6 foot wheelbase !!!!!! Of course it's going to be nimble around turns !!!!!
I see someone has been watching "Top Gear" when they played football with Mini's but your Dad and you looked as if you had great fun. It is a pity, they are not road legal as I for one would sure like to drive one here in Scotland as it would be ideal for nipping down to my local supermarket for shopping.
Just for the fun of it , I want you all to know , in 1976 I bought a brand new Toyota Truck for $3,600 tax title and license ...... The price of a damn crappy riding lawnmower nowdays ..... damn good truck too , well built , ran like a champ , great gas mileage , wish I still had that thing , easy to work on ..... Unfortunately I rolled it , and even then , as smashed up as it was , I drove it home from the wrecking yard !!!!!!!!! Damn thing drove !!!!!!! Cab was smashed in , you shoulda seen all the stares I got ......
That's a great question. I'ma bet his dad likes this one a lot better, due to much better suspension, more ground clearance, higher top end, and let's be honest...the Kandi's looks are much more appealing and prob more 'acceptable' in a Floridian farm community
As much as we love our ChangLi, this Kandi blows it out of the water. Much more powerful, much better quality. The advantage of the ChangLi is it has a bigger bed.
But Micha said!😇 Well, these seem quite capable. Your dad is definitely on to something with the trash cans. If you were to mount a pair of hooks on the top of the tailgate, I bet those things would hang right on there.
Now that you have a small fleet of these electric vehicles (these and the light landscaping ones) do you have a formal charging and storage area with a specific design? Showing it off or making one would be a good idea for a video.
Thanks for the video. Interestingly the Innovator shows the same price on the website but on the Canadian site, its $1,000 less than the Cowboy. And theres no "Find A Dealer" option here. This seems like a good value.h
Great video. I can see those electric UTV being good for around the yard, but until technology improves, they still aren't viable for sport and trail riding. Plus performance just isn't there yet, mainly because of price point to build a performance machine and how terrible the range would be.
You made these work. We really appreciate that you did so much in a short time...and quite a few products were highlighted. Mom and dad had some serious fun.
I'm so interested in one of these, and on TH-cam eveyone says they are great. Unfortunately in the FB owners group, EVERYONE seems to complain about them, especially for hill climbs. I mean, everyone, I feel like I have to trust the owner's group and not TH-cam reviews.
We don't have hills here in Florida, BUT, watch the video and see that our Kandi towed an 9,000lb 40' shipping container. With that kind of power and torque, it is hard for me to believe that this vehicle can't climb hills. Not saying what others are saying is wrong, but pulling 4.5 tons, that is serious!! Is it possible that the new ones are better than prior ones? Don't know. Just spit balling here. regards.

Looks like a heck of a lot of fun and useful to! 👍
You have a lot of cool work toys. Great demonstration. I think you just made their infomercial.
You know it's got real offroad chops with a name like "Kandi Cowboy".
sounds ermmmm
"With a name like -Smuckers- _Kandi Cowboy_ it *_has_* to be good."
@@prophetzarquon1922 has to be a drag act
And there's a service manual on their website - a rare thing nowadays!
You are electrifying america one niche per video! Great job Micah!
'...a young, fit, strapping young lad like me...' 😂 love it
It looks pretty awesome!
These seem like pretty good UTVs. I'd get the one with the built-in cooler/frunk.
Thank you! I've been waiting for a good electric UTV. I use the power drill analogy all the time for EVs.
Another great review. Makes me wish I needed one of these. FYI, you use ratchet straps pretty often. You might like to check out Strapinno retractable ratchet straps. We've used several different models for a couple of years, and they are awesome. My wife hates standard straps, but these have her seal of approval.
Nice demo on the atv but don’t forget to paint it pink for your mom❤and I like the moped but it doesn’t have pedals 😢
Great job on the video Micah! Thanks for making it.
Yet another great vid man really loving the electric heavy equipment
Literally the _only_ complaint I've heard, which I hear over & over, _is how_ *_loud_* _they are._
The moment electric models will run long enough to satisfy weekend sport riders & continuous duty work users, I'm certain they'll find _plenty_ of eager markets!
Well done!
I think your e-bike give away is a fantastic program 🙂.
Thank you! I really appreciate all your videos on the cowboy! They were very helpful to me when considering getting a Kandi.
it's so smooth on the lawn. Cool to see electric ones that I can use.
Yeah. Don't know about any real complaints from what you've shown, though I'd agree there's room for improvement. Such as the 110v outlet.
What's the battery chemistry?
Lithium iron phosphate or standard lithium ion?
Hope it's iron phosphate, so they'll last a decade and more.
And less fire prone
Hello, both models are equipped with Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries!
Seems super practical for utility use - I don’t see why you’d even need a 240V plug.
On Nema 14-50 plugs. When doing any type of EVSE make sure you purchase either a Hubbell, Bryant, or Leviton but with the yellow car painted onto the plug. Otherwise you risk the plug getting too hot and melting.
Thanks for sharing another great video about a couple Great UTV. I will be checking on them, thanks for the info.
Thank you so much for sharing! Can’t wait to test it out
I've been looking for something like this for hauling stuff around my farm
That 8 hay bale capacity would be perfect. I just wish it was about half the price.
lmao it was terrible, looked like was gonna tip over and most bales come in 14 bales+
I’m curious if Kandi makes a plow for plowing snow, or if there’s an aftermarket that we can get.
You didn't mention what voltage they are, is the battery easily user replaceable.
Charger hopefully has ability to set State of Charge limit (80%)
I guess that is five things.
Exactly how I feel. You couldn't have said any better
Don't need a whole oil refinery, most gas cars can run on 100% ethanol (which is easy to make) or biodiesel (also relatively easy to make, modern emissions equipment makes it difficult though.) EVs will be political until politicians stop threatening to ban gas cars.
Theyre pushing for evs because of the computers... they can control your car.
If someone can make an ev with analog controls thatd be cool.
@@iskdude9922 I hate to break the news to you but all new vehicles have computers, they have had computers for many years now.
@@s10mods ugh yeah but its not the same thing. Having a cpu that controls everything literally vs one that just controls the powertrain....
Now I’ve donated the second to a nearby school.
its football :)
I really enjoy your channel. I watched your review on another Kandi vehicle. When I went to Amazon, I found a lot of different complaints. 20% gave it a one star rating. Many complaints that the seller was unresponsive. Maybe when this happens, maybe you shouldn't review their other stuff.
They look very cool. Useful and fun.
It's good you are exploring evs and bikes
Very nice rig and yes a 120v inverter woul be perfect
$1400 really isn’t cheat to be honest. Considering the good quality, plus tariffs, freight cost, retailers’ profit etc it is still competitive to other combustion engine Utvs. The MSRP price of these candi utvs in China is around $3000-4000. The best part of them is the convenience since it’s electrical.
Very cool UTV's. Makes me wish I had a farm.
These vehicles are impressive. I'm glad to see they keep getting better over time.
It is a pity, they are not road legal as I for one would sure like to drive one here in Scotland as it would be ideal for nipping down to my local supermarket for shopping.
useful review of a eUTV company i did not know of
Just for the fun of it , I want you all to know , in 1976 I bought a brand new Toyota Truck for $3,600 tax title and license ......
Thanks for the review! Battery chemistry? Which version has the better headlights? Full doors available?
How does it compare to the Changli?
That's a great question. I'ma bet his dad likes this one a lot better, due to much better suspension, more ground clearance, higher top end, and let's be honest...the Kandi's looks are much more appealing and prob more 'acceptable' in a Floridian farm community
As much as we love our ChangLi, this Kandi blows it out of the water. Much more powerful, much better quality. The advantage of the ChangLi is it has a bigger bed.
But Micha said!😇
Well, these seem quite capable.
Your dad is definitely on to something with the trash cans.
If you were to mount a pair of hooks on the top of the tailgate, I bet those things would hang right on there.
I especially like the huge tube bumper on the cowboy that doesn't actually protect anything.
Great styling, which, lets face it, is a big selling point.
A hill climb test would have been nice, but I guess its very flat around there
Excited to see this!
Great review!!!
Great video. I can see those electric UTV being good for around the yard, but until technology improves, they still aren't viable for sport and trail riding. Plus performance just isn't there yet, mainly because of price point to build a performance machine and how terrible the range would be.
Cool utility vehicle there!
Loved the soccer match!
I'm very excited. when are you going to sell them for Canada thank you very much for the info. You do a great job coward you explain very well.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hi Sergio, the Cowboy is available at Peavey Mart in Canada!
This does more work than any Full size pickup on a typical day
Any pickup? Bold opinion
I think he went that too many pickups are used like a car. @@gbpg2016
Hopefully it's better than the car they tried to sell with all the hype that flopped.
funny one
lol, we shall compare this to the work of a 2006 f150.
Fantastic review 👍🏼
Am from Nigeria , I only realize have spend 30 minute in your video 😂when you mention 😂
You made these work. We really appreciate that you did so much in a short time...and quite a few products were highlighted. Mom and dad had some serious fun.
Any of your book will do! : )
this video made me get one
Love your videos! Thank You! 🙂
wicked machine ;)
Great Information!
Don't know. Just spit balling here. regards.
lol 😂 that soccer game ⚽ is so fun, I can do that with my fam all day long.
