He's been used for research or smuggling drugs .This is awful, sad, and so bad .. hope he will get better and have a happy ending in a good family. Trafficking of animals should be more investigated and punished hard . I'm really sad to see this video .
This made me cry. They say you can tell how a lot about a country by the way the people treat their animals. We have a long way to go to make conditions for our animals to have loving responsible homes. Myself and my three children have adopted many animals over the years. These workers should be commended for the compassion and tireless efforts to help these beautiful creatures ❤
I had an African Grey for years after the previous owner passed. They are loving smart and would always recommend them if someone is looking for a lifetime parrot pet.
I was sobbing as you told that story. Thank you for all the efforts you made as well as your staff. You did not have to do any research on this bird but God gave you a heart for it!❤😊
I have had two African Grey’s. There was a short time that I had both of these rescue birds at the same time. They are extremely smart! And figured how to let themselves out of their locked cage. One found another home (i hope) the alternative isn’t good since I lived in the unincorporated area. I rehoused the other one to a younger person that had another African Grey. Because I knew the bird would outlive me and I had to live in a smaller house in a subdivision postage stamp lot after I got the shaft in the divorce. Now I have 4 lovely small parrots that should live almost as long as I do. I don’t want my children to have to go to a total stranger if they outlive me.
I'm 42 and am getting a Quaker parrot in a couple days I sure hope it doesn't out live me but my son who's 17 now will take good care of it if so. I'm sorry you lost your greys.

These birds truly are amazing. I have not had the pleasure of owning one but been acquainted with them through a bird club. I definitely advocate for reputable bird rescue and sanctuaries!!!
11:32 FOR WHAT??? Greed?? God, I pray you show these smuggler demons the same mercy they showed those poor birds. I am such an animal lover that I can barely watch this! Wildlife that’s forced against its will to be tortured I can’t think of anything worse. I’m so PROUD of that veterinarian that did all that hard work and research to reunite a tortured bird with his mate. Thank you THANK YOU!!!
I am in tears for what happened to this bird and the others in his family group. African Greys will do anything for a friend or family member who needs something. Scientists did an experiment on this and wrote it up in a journal. Greys are very intelligent and very kind of given the opportunity. Other birds have also recognized this trait. A lot of other species of parrots pick African Greys to be their friends. They have a calming effect on both humans and other birds when treated right. I was lucky to have an African Grey that I loved with all my heart. I always told her how much I loved her and how she was my baby and best friend. I always had another parrot friend for her also . She always had the food she liked always had toys and fresh water. She was never anxious and never plucked. I got her from a person who loved her as a baby but could not keep her. I looked into her background and found she had been hatched in a bird store from a wild caught pair. Felt so sorry for her parents but at least she had been allowed to stay with them and her siblings for four months. She was the a wonderful bird and I would always have a Grey. She could talk to me and understood me. Ashe would even ask me if I was OK when I didn’t look right. She was never destructive nor destroyed my things. I thank you for saving and reuniting these 2 Greys. I do believe however that they should live in a huge aviary and have a family. That would be more natural. Hope those poacher gets what is coming to them and more. I have read that in some parts of Africa these birds are completely gone. More than sad. If the government would get rid of the poachers they could return some of these birds to their natural homes in a breeding program like they are doing with the Spix macaws. Greys are intelligent and emotional and sensitive and kind. People who have them should treat them with love and respect. and not take them for granted.
Thank you ALL for caring about this baby. Thank you for putting your time and effort into resourceful information. I cried & my heart broke 💔 over this situation. A Congo African Grey owns me. He's been in my life his entire 24 years of life. I can't even imagine him being so saddened. I actually had to stop watching this video, once the photos of the trade industry were seen. I can't get through to the end, atm. 😭.
I can't understand why human beings wants to have such birds as pets when these beautiful birds should be flying free. Life in captivity is no life for the birds or any other wild animal kept as a pet.
Most of these birds were born and raised in captivity… they cannot be released because they never received the skills to live wild. Releasing them would be a death warrant. I have known many such birds and their owners. They fly free, are not kept in cages except at night. For any animal that cannot live wild…it isn’t a bad life.
Unfortunately not all birds can survive in the wild like for instance my friends umbrella cockatoo has epilepsy seizures And can’t fly well but glide ok
OMG how sad. Those bird traffickers should be put in jail for a very long time. I am so pleased they are now living a good life after all they have been through. Thank you for your care.
Compassion is God's law. Those without it will not be saved. There are many demonic people here now. God bless the vet and Betsy for finding the mate and reuniting the pair.
Then why the hell doesn't one of the thousands of undetectable men in the sky do something to help? It's almost like none of them exist! Religion makes people sound so fmgormless
I am so relieved to read that their story had a happy ending. As we saw, there are many many more that don't end well at all. I am so sick and tired of hearing stories about how humans do dastardly things to animals with no care for anything but money and probably spending it ay the local bar or casino. We must pray poachers be delivered from the addictive demonic cycle of hurting animals or a few cents spent carelessly and perpetuating this terrible cycle. And pray harder that strict laws protect animals and punish poachers and abusers so badly they will never want to do this again.
To those judging Betsy's lashes, it is a beauty trend favored by young African-American women. Not all beauty trends appeal to all people, and it is beyond stupid to criticize such trends. Some of the beauty trends used by white women appear ghastly to other races! It's best not to throw stones at others's glass houses when you reside in one yourself!
I have had a African grey parrot for 32 years and like the previous comment I could not live without him. I love him dearly!! ❤❤❤ Also I also have a second African grey for 10 years that I adopted and love her just as dearly!!❤❤❤ I only get my parrots from reputable breeders. I just love my parrots!!!❤❤❤
The Vet looks so much like Dalton on "Apollo and Frens" (who also has an African Gray), I wonder if there's another long lost connection to be made in this story!
It’s hard to understand how people can be so cruel for the sake of money to capture these amazing birds in such a disgusting manner. Birds are very intelligent and they not only have the ability to learn human ways but they are emotional creatures and deserve to be loved and receive the best care
Poor birds! This is a horribly tragic story! WTF is wrong with people! I am happy the two birds were reunited... but I am still saddened about the obvious tragic fate of the rest of their family!
I recue parrots,my first African Grey came from a woman who married a man who breeds pit bulls. She cried but I have had Kahn for 5 years and couldn't imagine anyone treating him or any Grey like that. He is so special. My second was 3 months ago another male, and they get along great. He was from a woman with no kids who passed away and wrote in her will that she saw my rescue site and wanted me to have him. They are 28 and 24 years old and I can't bare to see them stuffed in plastic bottles.
I have a wild caught cockatoo.i have had him almost 25 years. If I hadn't taken him I don't know if he would be alive now. He is extremely close to me. I would never buy a bird that wasn't born in the USA but he was forcefully put here.i love him so much
I had an African Gray years ago! He was purchased in New York! Very Young still bottle fed. I had no idea the place was not legit until I became an Animal Advocate. I'm sure this Dark Concrete Establishment was not legit. I bottle fed Petey until he could eat on his own, I fed only the best of Fruits, Nuts and Supplements! He would want to Regurgitate food and feed me, he thought I was his Mom. He called my Daughter Heather and told me, " I Love You Mommy" then my Husband and I divorced and he wanted to get rid of Petey. I begged him to let me keep him!!😢😢 he wanted the money it cost for the bird and it's huge cage. So the best I could do was I asked an advent bird handler who was very knowledgeable of many different breeds of Parrots to buy Petey and all that went with him. He accepted!! I was Very Greatful Petey would receive the BEST CARE AND LOVE UNTIL HE PASSES. I was still Devastated, had hand raised him myself while my Husband worked. I Hope he lived a Great Life and didn't miss me too much.😢
A friend of mine had an African Gray. I'm a little nervous around birds (them biting and whatnot) but this one must have felt my concern and was very gentle around me. He could talk and was fun. Smart as a whip, too. I heard that they can live a lot of years, too.
These pics of the vet are pictures of Dalton Mason who has a TH-cam channel called Apolloandfrens. His bird Apollo was recently inducted to the Guinness world records for breaking the record of identifying the most objects by a parrot in 3 minutes. Apollo is not the bird in this story and the man pictured is not a vet.
I’ve heard about this trafficking, the cruelty people show to animals and their fellow humans is beyond my comprehension. I love African Grey’s. A local store sold hand raised birds and had a beautiful Grey. He seemed to like me and would sing and dance when he saw me. He always tried to steal my wedding rings. He would carry on until I let him grab it. He was so cute, holding the stone in his beak, head cocked, looking in my eyes. I wished I could have bought him, but I had 4 cats and a huge dog in a small house. Someone else did take him, I hope he’s doing well, is happy and loved.❤
I had one I took care of for a year for a lady that lost her home I was amazed everyday at how smart he was , his name is alphie and he is back with his real mom now giving her lots of kisses
The pair of aviary birds are captive bred and are very young, as seen by their black eyes. The initial grey in the video is a mature grey and captive bred. These birds shown are props to tell the plight of the despicable wild-caught trade in parrots, but certainly not the Grey this story revolves around. Wildcaught parrots, especially greys GROWL and SCREAM when frightened near humans and anything other that is alien and predatory is within his/her sight! Thank you for exposing the brutal heartbreaking wildcaught trade in parrots and know that all exotic wildlife, both avian and mammal suffer huge trauma. It is evil greedy crime against nature, against conscious sentient beings!
These stories of people who do this just sickens me. I thank all who try to help to combat trafficking as well as those providing shelter to any parrot.

When I cried my birds would love on me and sleep in bed with me! Thank you so much for helping these birds and continue to destroy these evil smugglers!
Bless your hearts for helping these Birds find each other through your kindness and compassion to help them!!
Ahwww poor thing 😢 it breaks my heart to see such a smart and beautiful bird .. he deserves good care, love and tenderness. He's been used for research or smuggling drugs .This is awful, sad, and so bad .. hope he will get better and have a happy ending in a good family. Trafficking of animals should be more investigated and punished hard . I'm really sad to see this video .
You will be happy to hear the video is complete bull
This made me cry. They say you can tell how a lot about a country by the way the people treat their animals. We have a long way to go to make conditions for our animals to have loving responsible homes. Myself and my three children have adopted many animals over the years. These workers should be commended for the compassion and tireless efforts to help these beautiful creatures ❤
I had an African Grey for years after the previous owner passed. They are loving smart and would always recommend them if someone is looking for a lifetime parrot pet.
Why recommend when the birds should be allowed to be free? They are not pets.
The parrots reason for the distress is beyond shocking !!!
What is beyond shocking is this story !!
Think we need to NOT recommend them then trafficking might lessen
How about putting people in a cage for a change ? 😂😂😂@@HoneyBumblebee300
Had?
A terrific story with a happy ending! Thanks to the experts who worked together for a happy ending to this complex story.
I'm sorry you lost your greys.
you will be fine with the Quaker Parrot. They are fun little birds.
Profoundly touching & also sad story. So happy these two birds got peace & joy finally! 😍🥰🥰
The video is ai generated, partly
This makes me angry. It is heartbreaking to say the least. Poor creature. The people that do this are monsters.
I'm Glad The Story had a Happy Ending I Felt So Bad For That Parrot 🦜 Thank God He Found His Friend 🦜 I Hope He's Feeling Much Better and He's Happier Now God Bless The Parrots 😊 🙏 💞
The tears AI'd onto the photos of the parrot(s) is ridiculous and not necessary.
There is still hope for humanity!
The parrot thought Betsy had spiders for eyes and was scared
My thoughts exactly 😅
😝
Very funny, ha ha 😂
😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Felt so sorry for her parents but at least she had
been allowed to stay with them and her siblings for four months.
Very sad story that is so cruel and should be condemned
The Vet was Awesome !!!
I am so glad to help this lovely bird THANKYOU🦜🦜
Stuck in plastic bottles 😮 God's eye is on the sparrow and he numbers the very hairs on our heads this must be so upsetting to our creator 😢
Exactly my thoughts, thank you for saying this, I’m so upset. 😭
It's wonderful that the two of you foundation mate for the grey. God Bless you and alk those who helped.
My African Grey came from a rescue, clearly previously neglected. They're a lifelong commitment.
omg some people cant understand that birds born in captivity can fly free they have no experience
It's a necessary evil when where they can live is disappearing at a rate of knots
Incredible empathy . God bless 👍
It's flat out an ai video
OMG how sad. Those bird traffickers should be put in jail for a very long time.
I am so pleased they are now living a good life after all they have been through.
Thank you for your care.
Thanks for your tenacity and and dogged investigation you did to bring these two Greys together. ❤❤
It's a miracle that "Betsie" didn't collapse under the weight of her false eyelashes.
And that's all you got out of this story?
Funny!
The story was very educational and amazing. What a miracle that they were able to reunite these specific greys!
To be so kind you gentle type with your middle finger?
??
Thank you Dr Michael in Jesus name amen 🎉.
It might be homesick
@@lucybuckley2579 watch the video
That is so awesome. I pray you keep them there and together.
Awww so very emotional poor babies
I wish doctors would care as much about people as they do these birds.
Beautiful story
This treatment of the birds is terrible! This is so sad!
I love All animals and people who care for them God Bless you!!!!!
Compassion is God's law. Those without it will not be saved. There are many demonic people here now. God bless the vet and Betsy for finding the mate and reuniting the pair.
Amen✝️
Then why the hell doesn't one of the thousands of undetectable men in the sky do something to help? It's almost like none of them exist!
Religion makes people sound so fmgormless
Thank you
God bless you 10 fold for your love for these bird's
I am so relieved to read that their story had a happy ending. As we saw, there are many many more that don't end well at all. I am so sick and tired of hearing stories about how humans do dastardly things to animals with no care for anything but money and probably spending it ay the local bar or casino. We must pray poachers be delivered from the addictive demonic cycle of hurting animals or a few cents spent carelessly and perpetuating this terrible cycle. And pray harder that strict laws protect animals and punish poachers and abusers so badly they will never want to do this again.
Thank s to all who have done a wonderful job to help reunite theses two love birds .plus help identify some of the evil 😈 in humans involved!
BLESS THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE THESES BEAUTIFUL.LITTLE ONES
Thank you, Doctor Mitchell for all the things that you have done for these birds.God bless you
the man pictured is Dalton Mason of the channel Apollo and friends, dr mitchell is made up
That's Dalton and Tori from Apollo and Frens!
God is wise. he put love in every thing. some animals, have more love than, humans.
Betsie has tarantulas on her eyes!
Surely she doesn't think that is attractive???
@veravaughan5876 she sure does.

I thought the same thing!
It’s hard to understand how people can be so cruel for the sake of money to capture these amazing birds in such a disgusting manner. Birds are very intelligent and they not only have the ability to learn human ways but they are emotional creatures and deserve to be loved and receive the best care
No it's not. Greed and desperation account for 100% of your soughtfor reason. Your comparative comfort is not reflective of the general reality.
How horrible. The poor babies
Poor birds! This is a horribly tragic story! WTF is wrong with people!
I am happy the two birds were reunited... but I am still saddened about the obvious tragic fate of the rest of their family!
Do Dalton, Tori and Apollo the grey, from Apolloandfrens, know, that you use their photos for your story??
They do, but this guy didn't ask them for permission
I thought it was Apollo’s dad! And that panting is not distress it’s sexual frustration, my girl goes through it 3 times a yr….this is so stupid
Well, they can't use photos of the actual birds since this is a 100% fake story.
Awww poor precious baby. I wish people that hurt these babies get the same treatment 😭😭
thank you both for all you did to support this african grey. there are angels after all
Could you please drag this out longer.
Do please. Talk slower. Add some useless information 😮

I would never buy a bird that wasn't born in the USA but he was forcefully put here.i love him so much
How can you put a bird in a plastic bag??? Real tears...
Or a plastic bottle ☹️🥲😢😭❣️❣️❣️
It's a fake AI story, the African Grey is Apollo from ApolloAndFrens.
We have a Grey and he completes us. I get a kiss good-morning and tells me when it is time for bed. Randy is so smart.
I had an African Gray years ago! He was purchased in New York! Very Young still bottle fed. I had no idea the place was not legit until I became an Animal Advocate. I'm sure this
Dark Concrete Establishment was not legit.
Parrots don't shed tears
Glad they found each other again
That's APOLLO
Thats amazing and now i can fall asleep❤❤
God bless the doctor ❤
Great story, great ending. Yet didn't like the fact of finding the yellow tag under old, dirty papers at bottom of cage....
These stories of people who do this just sickens me. I thank all who try to help to combat trafficking as well as those providing shelter to any parrot.
