could it be a bent valve? it sounded cam shaft related... but i dont own one yet, you two are great to watch, good luck!! its like watching early LR TIME content :D
Hi Been watching your videos for a while & have now subscribed. I'm looking forward to see the outcome of what's causing the knocking noise on the RR. I think if it was me I would have drained the oil & removed the oil filter to check to see if there was any metal parts in it before attempting to remove the engine. I have a 2012 L322 Tdv8 Autobiography & I'm so jealous of your car lift. It would make things so much easier.
You should have changed the fuel filter! If it’s had petrol in it it will still be there!! The noise just sounds like a misfire!! It’s only on 4 cylinders by the sound of it!! 😊
Its a v6 diesel lion. Sounds like rod knock. Its not uncommon for bad maintained engines to spin a crank bearing. Should of had 10w40 oil every 12000kms. Its definitely not injector seals or cam related, bottom end is hitting itself
@MrRedfreds lr times have only just gotten there rangerover sportcbut it does share a motor like the discovery 3. Little different. It really needs a new motor. Will be cheaper in the long run
Definitely bottom end but could be injector’s as well.
Quick test take Oil and Oil Filter out see if you can find metal flakes.
You are doing a fantastic job. I will be there all the way,
Great video and a big shout out to Mrs Life As Usual for getting the bonnet off😂
It's a long journey, good luck, stay strong and positive and you'll accomplish what you set out to do
Wise words - Take your time and be methodical when removing parts.
Like your passion ! If you take a loss and a lot of blood sweat and tears then let it be !
You live and learn !
I would check injectors first, then take the sump off and check the bottom end
nice video that's a keeper

Fuel filter will be under the car. Sucking the fuel out at the top will have fixed the filter.
Will the knocking go away 😅
When are cigars coming to the channel xx
Am interested in what you doing my brother. Will be waiting for the next uploads with your journey. By the way which city you located?
Reckon that fuel drain was a job you could have done yourself given you want to understand a complete rebuild?
If a diesel has been contaminated I was under the impression all of the pipes from the tank to the engine had to be replaced?
And the wheels

I'll stand corrected but doesn't your ramp state 2 ton ??? The RR is 2.5 ton isn't it ??? Be careful my friend.🤷🤔
