The reason most men don’t say anything and just suffer in silence is because we realise “it’s impossible to reason with the unreasonable” , far easier to avoid interactions with women. "Don't say the things we need to hear" That's an interesting concept. To keep wifey happy certain magic words need to be said or they get angry and divorce you. I wish my ex had told me what those words were, maybe I'd be still married today. The only words I heard from my wife were yell, yell, criticise and put-down related words.

This is why male camaraderie is so important, only men care about men for the most part. Get yourself a couple of good friends that you can talk to. If you're worried about trying to make a friend, just remember - he's probably as lonely as you are, especially if they're single. Invite him out for a beer or something and you've probably shown him more affection than he's seen in years.

The thing is when we have spoken out on how we’re treated, we’re often gaslit either into believing that the treatment we’re receiving is entirely our fault or into whining about something that isn’t a big deal. From there, we just remain silent for the sake of keeping the peace. Even when you’re single and you try to speak on how you’re treated, you’re told to man up and deal regardless of the circumstances.

This is so true, my ex-wife demanded she get her own way and if she did not she was horrible on a level I could not believe. She initiated the divorce, because I finally said "this has to stop" she would not consider attempting to resolve our issues, even though we had kids. For nearly two years I avoided women (biked a lot) because I wanted nothing to do with another relationship, but finally I re-engaged and carefully went about finding someone new. And I screened out women that reminded me of my ex, even in the slightest, and I finally found my true friend, lover, partner. My ex-wife is going ape shit, because she cannot stand I am with someone new and we are happy. But her strategy to get me back is not being nice, not asking me what she can do, oh no it is a serious of threats, manipulations, tricks, etc. And honestly I believe she is simply doing what other similarly f'd up women are telling her to do.

Gone through a fair few women, but never had to put up with any bullshit. Women think being pretty and giving BJs mean you have to put up with their crap. You don’t. ... the woman mentioned here is Norah Vincent and her account, as a man, is documented in her book: "Selfade Man" and although she stated unequivocally that she didn't like the role being a guy (quoting):
"And that, I learned very quickly, is the straitjacket of the male role, and one that is no less constrictive than its feminine counterpart. You're not allowed to be a complete human being. Instead you get to be a coached jumble of stoic poses. You get to be what's expected of you" ...
I guess that's the problem for all of us, isn't it, this straitjacket being what is expected from us, especially in the sense of gender stereotypes ... but Nora Vincent did not, I am convinced of that, end her life because of this experience, being a male (she was much more troubled in other ways) ... having actually read her book I'd like to share a couple of lines about her account of being a man. I am not sure if I am even allowed to share part of her thoughts, but I think this to be important for the discussion here and fully in her spirit:
"It was hard being a guy. Really hard. And there were a lot of reasons for this, most of which, when I recount them, make me sound like a tired and prototypical angry young man.
It’s not exactly a pose I relish. I used to hate that character, the guy in the play or the novel who drones on and on about his rotten deal in life and everyone else's responsibility for it. I always found him tedious and unsympathetic. But after living as a guy for even just a small slice of a lifetime, I can really relate to that screed and give you one of my own. In fact, that’s the only way I can truthfully characterize my life as a guy. I didn’t like it.
I didn’t like how wooden I felt and had to make myself in order to pass as a believable guy. I had to do a lot of crossing out when I crossed from woman to man. I hadn’t anticipated this when I'd started as Ned. I had thought that by being a guy I would get to do all the things I didn’t get to do as a woman, things I'd always envied about boyhood when I was a child: the per ceived freedoms of being unafraid in the world, stamping around
"I couldn’t be myself, and after a while, this really got me down. I spent so much time worrying about being found out, even after I knew that nobody would question the drag, that I began to feel as stiff and scripted as a sandwich board. And it wasn’t being found out as a woman that I was really worried about. It was being found out as less than a real man, and I suspect that this is something a lot of men endure their whole lives, this constant scrutiny and self-scrutiny.
Somebody is always evaluating your manhood. Whether it’s other men, other women, even children. And everybody is always on the lookout for your weakness or your inadequacy, as if it's some kind of plague they're terrified of catching, or, more importantly, of other men catching. If you don’t make the right move, put your eyes in the right place at any given moment, in the eyes of the culture at large that threatens the whole structure"

Men don't say the things we need to hear. Cassy Jaye would disagree. She's the one that as a feminist. Did a documentary on men's rights groups to exposed there misogyny. But eventually learned to listen. Her Ted talk was pretty good to hear how she learned to listen eventually after months and months of interviewing men's rights groups

. . . meh! Save it. It's nice of you to offer an apology, but we men are jaded at this point. The horror of it all: The worst is yet to come. You think it's bad now? No, not really. Men have responded and will continue to respond by just backing the hell out of the way. The collective thought is (in my opinion) "Here! Take it! It's yours. Let's see what you do with it." when we all know it's going right down the shitter at a breakneck speed.
When the services that society depends on to run smoothly start to evaporate, and take longer and longer to restore, eventually being out for days on end, THAT is when women will realize just how WRONG they were for fighting the resource that makes those services operate. With any luck, it won't be too late, but I think we will be far past that point when the brunt of reality hits, and society wind up crumbling all around us.
Stay tuned. Shit's gonna hit the fan. And when it does, you won't want to miss the show!
