I just love Tom Poston, what a witty guy! cracks me up every episode!
I usually find him really annoying but in this one, he was actually funny and got what was coming to him in game 2.
Mary Kelly was clever by asking Tom to repeat his alliterative lines. 😂
Polly sometimes came across as ditzy, but she was smart.
Good one with Tom and the alliteration. Reminds me of the Johnny Carson skit with copper clappers. Definitely worth searching for on TH-cam.

A carton of cigarettes wasn't the prize. It was a gift. They split the money, which was a nice amount in 1959.
Monique Van Vooren had more brain power than the other 3 panelists combined. She could speak 6 languages and learned in two more. Besides that, she was a babe.
Tom' got his cumuppance in Game 2 for which he should have been shot

The contestants introducing themselves in Game 3 sounded like Joe Biden attempting to give a speech.
Since you can't keep your ignorant political affiliation out of it, the young contestants were far more intelligent than trump who can't talk beyond grade school level.

Why should that bother you after all these yrs? It was how life was.
No it doesn’t, but that having been said, like the other commenter said, things were different then and people weren’t as culturally sensitive as they are today.
I think they were just having fun on what was essentially nothing more or less than an entertainment show.
