I was introduced to plate lunch when I lived in Hawaii. I love it!! My favorite part is when the the juice from the meat runs under the Mac salad and rice and gets all mixed together. Yum!

Wow one simple dish and looks so delicious, l would like some sauce on that rice. How about adding some chilli flakes it will give a little kick to the sauce.

Haha….I’m born and raised here….you are right we make shoyu chicken everywhere…but there is no way anyone would serve you only one piece of chicken….unless they were from the mainland. 😂

I like that you browned the thighs before adding the rest of the ingredients. Nice presentation at the end but I take one extra scoop mac salad please. Thanks for showing us how!

Why not mix ingredients before putting them in pot?

I've been cooking chicken for 50 years, never needed a thermometer to tell me when it's done, and no one ever got sick from eating my chicken.
    Also, no measurements? No quantities?

It could be inspired by Filipino pork adobo since there’s a huge similarities in ingredients.

Thank you but I don't see why anyone would post a recipe without providing the measurements. Silly. Why would I subscribe?
