We are finally scratching off all the places we've traveled to together on our travel scratch map! We have never actually counted the number of countries we have been to as a couple, so we thought that now, before releasing our new series, would be a great time to reminisce and look back over the last 8 years of travel, at all the places we have been to and tell some stories.

    ⭐ About Travel Beans:
Welcome to the official Travel Beans TH-cam channel! On this channel, you’ll find a variety of travel and vlog content, in which you’ll see us in places like Thailand, Japan, USA, Slovenia, and more.
In 2017 we left home with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a sustainable travel lifestyle happen! We are now living our dream as digital nomads and want to inspire you to create your own story, whatever it may be!
After 5 years of aimless, yet enjoyable, backpacking around the world we found ourselves in New York City battling with depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on. After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle.
Our time spent battling depression has influenced our outlook on life dramatically! We are now traveling the world in search of what makes us happy. In our vlogs, we talk openly and honestly about our travel experiences, the digital nomad life and depression. We hope our videos can help to inspire you to create a life that makes you happy!

Wow! There are few places you HAVENT been. You're so right about getting out of your comfort zone. So happy you are able to see so many incredible places while you're young enough to be fearless!! I'm from the US, Indiana to be exact. We are an hour east of Chicago. Going there today in fact to pick up son and his girl from O'Hare. Hes a cornhole pro so they travel the country for his tournaments. They both have the travel bug as well. More young people seem to be finding ways to make travel possible and it's because in part, of couples like you! Keep the vlogs coming!!

I already texted you this, but I stayed in the same Airbnb you did in Macedonia literally right after you. I thought that was so cool and I got to show my parents the Airbnb from your video. That is when my dad started watching you guys. Your travels have inspired me and I can't wait to see where you go post Covid. Stay healthy and travel on!

I love your Beans. I traveled for many years for business. Lived in Hawaii and Guam and Spain with the US Navy, but traveled quite a bit in business after the Navy. In total, I've been lucky enough to have visited 75 countries and 50 states. Many for only a day or two, and many to really dig deeper.
You two are doing what I should have done; however, I have enjoyed my travels. Many have been on business trips covering multiple countries in South America, Asia, and Africa on multiple week travels. I'm trying to redo some of these.
Keep your channel up and continue to recount your previous travels. I have enjoyed following you two screamers ("BEANS OUT") and find you both entertaining.

Worked as a flight attendant for Lufthansa for many years. Way before your time. 70's/80's. My first time in Cape Town was mind blowing. I felt as if the Creator was done and just threw everything he had left in his pouch into the Republic of South Africa. I can see you guys touring New Zealand in a van too. Beautiful country. Really enjoy your work.

I'd recommend driving the Crowsnest Hwy in the south of Canada stopping at Waterton Lakes NP. Vancouver to Whistler on The Sea to Sky and onto Banff through Yoho and Glacier National Parks. I'd then drive the Icefields Parkway to Jasper then through Saskatchewan to beautiful Manitoba including Riding Mountain NP ( lots of bears) . Great video guys , look forward to your future videos.

I'm glad you liked Istanbul . My dad was an English teacher at Robert College, and we lived there for 6 years . We spent one of our summers in Scandinavia and went far north into Norway to experience the midnight sun. I'm surprised you haven't done Scandinavia , being relatively close to UK. Maybe there's a car ferry from UK . After your misfortune with Frank, you should take your VW camper there this summer. I am impressed with all you visits to different countries around the world.

Out of comfort zone? I was stationed for 2 years in South Korea. When I first arrived, I stuck to the base (Osan Air base) like a child clinging to Mummy's leg. Then some friends got me out of my doldrums and we decided to explore. South Korea is a beautiful country and the food is amazing. We went to restaurants were nothing on menu was in English and we had to point at the menu & likely ended up with better food. Hiked up Mountains, through mist, gorgeous waterfalls, caves with Buddhist monks, unreal endless staircases & at the top could look across to see mountains of North Korea. Went to Jeju a island off south coast and had some fun times in/around Busan a big seaport in the South of the country. Plus explored many parks in the interior of the country. Met wonderful friendly people who we shared soju with on mountain tops & in Karaoke bars. Initially I had a hard time in South Korea, went through bad divorce and felt miserable. Then the country and friends made it one of the best experiences of my life.

I loved this episode! I found your channel looking for more sights of Italy - your last set got me hooked on you guys. The wife and I have covered most of USA together- our parents were car trip people. We took our kids to camp in Yellowstone and our daughter had to see Forks, Washington back when vampires were a big thing. Back in the BC time (before children) we did a month in Australia, Amazing! Scuba in the Caribbean in the 80's. We found Europe in the 2000's. A week at a time every other year is all we could afford - traveling from Iowa meant those adverts for UK for $500 for NYC were $1800 for us.
Our Greek trip with friends for last summer died with the Covid shut downs and Expedia has our airline money "saved". I thought we might be retired next summer and do a Grand Tour in a rental, but that doesn't seem likely. I just tested positive so our family plans for the Holidays are in flames too!
I want to let you know that I think your talking about depression is a very good thing and people need to know that is happens to everyone. Both my wife and daughter are counselors and I know this can be hard for people to admit. Keep sane and safe!

What a cool story! Love all the places you have been. I have a less grandiose but similar story. I was completing teacher ceertification in 1990 when I was given an opportunity to travel to London. A friend offered to give me a place to stay until I got on my feet. I bought a suitcase, 35mm camera and a plane ticket and off I went. I got a job working in a Pub within a week or two. Within a month or so, I got a job in a poorly funded and resourced private school in North London. The next year I got into the state system. At the end of my first year I met my eventual wife who is Turkish. We ended up living in London for an additional 5 years and traveled on each school holiday. We got married at Easter break in Istanbul in 1994. The English weather and teaching in inner city was wearing me down. I started searching for teaching jobs in Turkey and eventually found one in Istanbul wherre my wife was from. Alex…. your favoirte city Istanbul… we made residence for 2 years. I got to learn more about the culture, travel throughout Turkey, and get to know the family better. Sadly, the teaching job did not work out as well as it should have. I was supposed to teach Middle School English, but the school did not get built on time. I was redeployed to Pre-K operating in Turkish. After much tense negotiations, we were give early release from my contract, compensated and provided flights to America. Sadly my almost 8 years of advernture came to an end and we had to return to America…. This video reminded me of all our good times and fuelled my desire to once again travel. Honestly… those days, even though much poorer were in many ways more happy. I am now in my 21st year of corporate life anchored in Illinois with only occasional vacation travels. Enjoy and cherish the times you are having now.

Go to Iceland, the Faroes - incredible Nature. And the Canadian West Coast. Vancouver!! And Victoria and the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island. Also, the Middle East is clearly worth it. Ramallah, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and (most impressive) Bethlehem. Absolutely worth the logistical hassle and the one hour security check at the airport when you fly OUT of Israel and tell them you have been to Palestine. Also, Jordan is worth a few days - Wadi Rum and Petra most of all. The Dead See is really dead, unfortunately. Damascus, when possible. I spent 8 month there with no idea and little money as a student - this was my out of comfort zone experience. And extremely impressive.

so I've been to over 25+ countries, 48 of the 50 US states, and all over Australia... I played college football / basketball, and managed some major artists for some major record labels so traveling was always a nice little advantage... now I own a real estate investment company that specializes in STR's.. aka short term rentals aka airbnbs... and I'm about to expand to Europe, most notably Italy... the question I have for you you guys... regardless of place... what are some of the top little hidden gems you think could use a wonderful airbnb? I typically buy up dilapidated houses or even ruins, and revitalize them... so I'm less interested in turn key, and more interested in places like Italy where i can buy a 1.00 ruin or up to 20k and then with the amazing subsidies offered right now build out something pretty spectacular.... so I LITERALLY watch your videos as research on what towns I should look into... So what do you think?

Hi Emma and Alex. I discovered your TH-cam channel two days ago, and am very impressed. I've just watched the whole of your recent Italian series, and found it very interesting and entertaining, I like your clear communication, relevant content, sensible video editing, and your sense of fun. In these difficult times, it is a refreshing diversion. Keep up the good work.
P.S. as I am more than your two ages combined, you now have some proof of how broad your audience is.
P.S.S I live just down the road from you in Bridgwater

45 countries so far. Next year Croatia and portugal for the first time. When there is a corona vaccine i guess philippines and cuba, never been.
The biggest hurdle for me was tunisia. Reading what government safety of uk and us were saying and then visiting in an almost tourist free country it was amazing. Great people. Serbia first time also was a country I thought warzone unfriendly people - to i cam first time there. Having several friends their now. Only disappointment for me so far was Sydney, Australia - only been there once and want to see more. Australia sounds so exotic I didnt expect the city to e so english
