Today we bring you our world travel scratch map plus some fun travel stories to go along with all that scratching! We thought this would be a fun way to look back at how many countries we've been to together (we didn't include any of the ones where we travelled solo), and also reminisce on our 10 years as a travel couple. We tried doing this chronologically, but we inevitably missed mentioning a few countries along the way...we think we've visited somewhere over 70+ countries together, but who's really counting?! So let's roll back the footage to 2012 and let's get to work on this travel scratch map!

You two definitely look like you love every single travel day even though I'm sure it was hectic. Definitely always nice to reminisce of things that maybe you don't really remember off the top of your head and then when it has hits you, all the memories. Wish I took pictures while I was in Canada but I definitely remember that even if we were drunk a lot of it. Ohh to be a teenager again

Especially how you met in South Korea teaching. I taught conversational English for a year in Seoul at a large language school. It was my first trip outside Canada & USA and was quite the adventure. It was also 40+ years ago..!! Sadly I did NOT meet the love of my life while teaching..!! 🙂

A new travel suggestion for you.
The 516 Arouca is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world.
Per Lonely Planet’s Andrea Smith, the bridge is located in the Arouca Geopark, a destination in the northern region of Portugal where visitors can hike, go white water rafting and explore historical sites. Arouca is designated a Unesco Global Geopark for its significant geological characteristics.
The park is also home to Neolithic graves and Roman and medieval ruins, as well as the Monastery of Arouca, which served as a religious center for nuns, and sometimes monks, between the 10th and 19th centuries.

Great production. A sequel suggestion would be how far in advance to do you plan ( including visa application, types health/vaccination records should be carried) , what resources do you use , do you always get travel insurance including medical evacuation, must have phone apps( how do you get them to work in the different countries).

I want to see all of this but we are in a coffee shop in St Joseph MO where we are staying in a mansion of a friend of ours. We had some work to finish up here (no wifi in the mansion) but now we are going to see Amelia Earheart's birthplace. Anyways I'll be posting a video of the mansion when we get back to KC from this weekend. I'll also watch the rest of the video then and I'm happy you went to Estonia as one of the first countries you visited together since I'm part Estonian and went to university there.

I see that you have been to Australia. If you want to do a exciting road trip you could travel around the entire country in one direction. Start in Sydney or Brisbane, drive up the coast road as far North as possible. Travel across the North to Darwin. Darwin to Perth via the West coast. Perth to Adelaide, crossing the Nullabor Plain. Adelaide to Melbourne. Melbourne to Sydney. Allow plenty of time!!!

Thanks Adrian! All the best in Buenos Aires! Yes, we're both country and city repeaters. Two examples would be multiple stays in Chiang Mai, Thailand and also BA in Argentina and also we've been back to India, Korea, Argentina and Italy more than 3 times.

Backpacking is very affordable. Like he said, at a time he didn’t even want to to spend $15 for a room which is obviously extreme but there certainly is a way! And booking flights that have deals instead of prioritiIng one place and paying a premium price to fly. Anyway good luck with your future travels

Something completely new that you may or may not have an interest in is forthcoming. The new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 has the ENTIRE PLANET in 3D textures (hard to believe). 1.5 BILLION 3D buildings alone and most the major tourist attractions in the world in 3D too. Now it releases for MS Xbox series X on July 27th. And in this version you don't even have to know how to fly. They provide a working co-pilot and have labelled everything. But MS also has something new called xCloud (aka - cloud gaming) that they are going global with. xCloud "streams" virtually all these Xbox games to Android cell phones and tablets. And an Xbox controller Bluetooth "pairs" with the cell phone and mounts to it with a cheap bracket. This would allow you to explore the intricate details of your adventures before you spend the money on them. It even includes N. Korea. The very extensive 3D scenery data for this marvel would fill a whopping 1.6 million CD's. And it shines at "bush" explorations and remote places too. Grass & weeds are all 3D bladed and there are 2 TRILLION 3D trees. The PC version even supports VR. FYI - This is what the new Windows 11 is really all about. This new cloud streaming is going to be heavily integrated into it. It's where the real money is for MS and probably why Windows 11 is going to be free. Amazon's version is called Luna. This is also one the reasons nobody can get their hands on an Xbox series X right now. But I did (lucky me). If you have an interest in this, find out what "World Updates" for it are. That is something you will really be interested in. They are eventually going to do the whole world with them and they are working on number 6 right now (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). A team of hundreds of full time people work on the World Updates alone Those updated fill in "the good stuff" in much higher quality (see TH-cam videos). The last one "The Nordics" had 77 new 3D models of major attractions. It included Iceland. MS has issued an open checkbook on this whole concept because they think "cloud gaming" is going to be a really big deal. It will deliver high end gaming on a beer budget to all the people in the world. MS CEO - "We now live in a phone first, and cloud first, world".
Awesome video! Maybe I should get a scratcher map, too, as I’ve traveled to nearly forty countries. Btw, you said you also went to Battambang, Cambodia. What were you able to see there? I went there simply because I have some good friends who live there. And I was just there for 24 hours.
Oh, cool! How did you like it? We spent about a week there but it was a relaxed visit - we rode the bamboo train, took a cooking class, and hired a tuktuk to visit some of the fishing villages.

haha .... 17:53 .... i lived there for 1 1/2 years in this red light district near FFM trainstation .... 2004-early 2006 .... i was an RC modelling guy at the time and since i had no better place i d go to this parking lot to the right of the station (towards river main) where i d just race that thing around cause the spot was mostly empty of cars .... best time in frankfurt was always in summer during fete de la musique ... but in general not a great city for night life and way to expensive for everything ... : food, housing, gastronomie is also a joke if you re used to berlin standards

Thanks Daphne. Great question. We're noticing things opening up in Canada and other parts of the world slowly. I think some places will accept vaccine passports at some point and other countries won't require them at all.
@@samuelandaudrey well, that for me isn't the worse part. It's the mandatory hotel stay that brings on hyperventilation. Hotels can be scary enough without all the gruesome events that have been taking place. Older people will not likely be able to handle that kind of stress. That was what I was worried about. 😟
