28:30 it should be noted that Tom Hardy just isnt working that much these days. Hes spoken about it. He just doesnt have that drive to do that many movies anymore He had a huge 2015 with The Revenant and Fury Road. Then did Taboo. And then just started doing Venom movies. He took the foot off the peddle
Regarding sex in movies...one thing I have definitely noticed is that a lot of young people/newly adult are turned off by it and have become kind of the new sex police it feels like. Obviously not everyone, but sex sure is a lightning rod with that group
Flanagan did something with sprinklers in House of Usher that I found so disturbing that I haven’t watched horror since, so I guess he’s a good choice?
I disagree keep putting out Mad Max movies . Those moves and the Mel Gibson Mad Max movies are awesome. Furiosa going to do alot money. Fury Road made like $380 million
Talking about the emmys. I'd like to see Platonic with Seth Rogen get some noms, hilarious, original, feel good, grown up. Best comedy series in years. Also why is nobody talking about Special Oops:Lioness. I was gripped, Again grown up, pacey, emotional, thrilling. Definitely deserves a limited series nom and more.
Erm Apple is awesome and foundation is awesome. Sugar just did the biggest “did not see that coming” in tv history. I could go on…Everything on Apple is great
It would be cool to see Kirsten Stewart play a vampier again, but this time the antithesis of Bella; like a R-rated seductive vicious sadist Lestat-type character.
Last erotic thriller I saw was the remake series Fatal Attraction with Joshua Jackson & Amanda Peet on Paramount+. Was mid. Hollywood should keep trying though.
I watched challengers. It was refreshing to see the unapologetic and blunt nudity or for some of the performers just very explicit positions, sexy imagery and intense erotic situations. Even if it wasn't as explicit as it would've been back in the day. It's still one of the many reasons why it became one of my favourites I've seen in theatres ever, because it's a rare movie to get the pleasure to experience these days. Overall, unlike Jeff, I thought the pacing was smooth and that the run time was perfect. The characters and performances were incredible. Editing, sound design and score was so satisfying. And I loved the ending despite it's controversy. Can't spoil it though.
I agree with jeff and john, I don't think Leitch has a *great* film in him. Bullet Train is a 7, Fall Guy is a 7, he can do a serviceable job but I don't see something in his directing repetoire that indicates he has a Dune or Oppenheimer kind of thing in him. Let's put it this way, I am glad gareth edwards got jurassic over dave. Also yeah Ritchson is a super obvious pick for He-Man given the amazon connection but I do not believe he is as big of a star as people say (Gentlemenly Warfare super bombed and that had him AND cavill).
I tend to agree with you but I think we need to be more specific with our terms. For example, "great" by what standard? I agree that he's not an auteur by the standards of a Nolan or Fincher (I think Villeneuve is overrated). And if you look at it historically, the only director that transitioned successfully from the stunt world to become a truly great director was John Ford. So yeah, by that standard, I don't see Leitch ever delivering something like Liberty Valance. But should that in fact be his standard? Is he even interested in being that type of director - making those types of films? Wouldn't it be more realistic to compare him against guys like Hal Needham and Craig R. Baxley? That's more the norm. Because by that standard, he's then pretty good. And shouldn't each generation have a director like that - someone who's just happy to make populist, crowd-pleasing entertainers? They can be great films for what they are. Not high art but not every film needs to be that. There is a niche of this other thing. I would even go so far as to say that by that standard, he's already delivered a "great" film: Deadpool 2. Because yes: that was simultaneously both a great sequel and great populist entertainment. That all being said, I was a bit disappointed by The Fall Guy. A solid 7, like you say; but I was expecting more out of it - even by that standards I've outlined.
Why do they talk as if George Miller doesn't have one of the most eclectic cinematic resume's of any director ever. In between his two most recent MAD MAX movies he made a genie romance, fantasy epic! Hell prior to Fury Road he was making KIDS ANIMATED MOVIES. And prior to that he made BABE and LORENZO'S OIL!!!! The man has always done what he wanted. Never just kept going back to the well. Fury Road only came after a 30 year break from the franchise. And Furiosa is coming after a nearly ten year break from Fury Road! He's not pumping these out cuz he's desperate. He's making Mad Max movies because he wants to!
Yeah, I thought that was weird too. Saying "I want to see what else George Miller can do, I want to see him try his hand at something else," when he had a non-Mad Max movie less than two years ago - not to mention the thirty-year period in between Thunderdome and Fury Road in which he made nothing but non-Mad Max movies.
Miller co-wrote the first Babe he didn't direct it. He directed the sequel....I feel this is the most common mistaken director identity after people thinking Burton directed A Nightmare Before Christmas.
Hang on Rocha. When you said you had no interest in seeing Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman together in an erotic thriller project, was that for real? Cuz I ain’t tolerating any slight against them, especially my girl Brittany. 😆
"Jeff is a well known pervert."
"That is true."
Never change guys! 😂😂

X-Men 97 had better win every Emmy it's up for. That show is fucking amazing.
The idea of you was way better than I ever thought it would be. You should totally give it a watch.
I hope they do the right thing and give us more Gwildor.

Paul Walter Hauser liked a comment on Instagram which speculated that he'd be playing Mole Man in F4.
I’m with Jeff. That Challengers ending 👎👎

I can even find stuff to like in Beyond Thunderdome.
Flanagan is definitely not gonna half ass it and he will definitely have a take. I think that’s a very good choice
really enjoyed Miller's pet project, Three Thousand Years of Longing. He could work with DC. Take his worldbuilding and legend building...
Could Giancarlo be cast as Norman Osborn?
Loot is awesome!! Good shout out to

I think nick cage has been fantastic over the last couple of years
All these stories about The Rock's behavior on sets are totally part of The Bloodline storyline and Roman Reigns is behind them.
Did Shakman direct the sunny episode in which Paul WH played that juggalo kid? I’m guessing so
Im suprised jeff hasn't seen shogun
Tbf, it's not very perverted. A little, but, you know.
So funny! Also, Han shot first! 😂
I thought Donald Glover was still doing the Lando series.
I liked The Fall Guy...should've been 95 minutes
There is no way D & W is a one-off for Jackman. He's here through Secret Wars at a minimum.
Jackman is to old now for leading man roles so might as well put on the suit and continue to cash in.
@@playedout148 He's about to lead in a re-imagining of Robin Hood.
