Don’t mind Star Wars movies with female leads but what I don’t want at the expense of male characters. Just felt KK is trying to make Star Wars into something she likes but not actually Star Wars. Was horrible what they did to the original trilogy characters. Continuing with Rey is just a bad move as she is the poster child of the sequels that divided the fandom even more than Ever. Didn’t help taking up the Skywalker.
With the Blade situation, I definitely think it’s a case of not fitting into the current multiverse saga and all signs are pointing towards their focus being ending the multiverse ASAP and a lot of these projects that have been rumored for months or years (Scarlet Witch movie, Doctor Strange 3, Shang Chi 2, Armor Wars, Blade, etc…) are on the back burner until after Secret Wars
I can see that although there are several creative ways things could "fit" into the multiverse saga and not explicitly tell a universe-hopping story. I won't bore you with the details of the many approaches, but if they thought about *why* vampires and other undead or supernatural creatures haven't appeared in the MCU, they could easily tell a story of *creatures banished in the past* and the few escapees, collaborators, thralls and profiteers who cause pockets of them to pop up (and need cutting down by Blade and various conscripted characters who use enchanted weapons and items connected to keeping them at bay). No need for a multiversal event to flare up just to have something happen during that phase, but if they really needed a multiverse tie-in in it, said banishment could have been to an Earth void of humans to terrorize.
Marvel and SW would have an easier time if they made smaller movies. Prey, Alien Romulus, etc were self-contained stories that didn't cost $200M+ to make. They need to get back to that...

Heavily disagree with almost everything Michael said about Star Wars… Not a fair thing to blame fans for how things have turned out, and it’s certainly not their fault that the Rey film is experiencing problems. That’s on Lucasfilm to figure things out on how to provide a great film and story.
This movie wont be good, it sounds like we all know what its gonna be. Rey not being able to establish a New New Jedi Order because she has boobs and men on earth(not in star wars, sexism doesnt really exist in Star Wars, except from the Empire[space nazis] and now everyone because Disney cant separate make-believe and real life) cant handle women in charge. Sharmeen saying "her story as a Female Jedi", her story as a female jedi is the same as a male jedis, there have been female jedi since the establishment of the order thousands of years ago, with female Jedi serving as leaders, teachers, knights, warriors, diplomats, just like any male jedi. They Female Jedi are persecuted is an Earth mentality, not a Star Wars one. And that whole concept will slam this movie into the same category as Boba Fett and Acolyte for me. A concept that was explored to about 15-20% of the depth we could have gone. What y'all are saying is happening in Penguin, with the drug trade growing the war between multiple cartels, is what should have happened in Boba Fett, the whole first season should have been the two part Premiere. In the Acolyte, the whole season, again should have been a two part premiere. The conversations that lead up to her being a sith are not interesting, who cares if she said Sol or Mama, whats interesting is what would have happened after she was taken in by Plagueis. And this movie sounds like itll be the same, with it ending with her establishing the New New Jedi despite some sleezy men trying to man it up at her, when in actuality the establishing of the order should be the first act, or better yet just set up in the opening crawl, drop us into the Order already going, and the galaxy adjusting to a new Order cropping up after the New Republic was hugely decimated, don't show me Rey as a female Jedi, so me Rey's struggle as trying to establish an order of peacekeepers in a galaxy that is fractured with no ruling body, how do you keep the galaxy safe when you arent sure what galaxy is left to save. There's just so much more interesting stuff we can explore with Rey's character. Now granted, maybe ill be wrong and they end up doing something like I want. I truly hope so. I'd like one "woke" Star Wars film to do well in the Box Office, so we can finally put that shit to bed and refocus the fandom on tearing down every writer at Lucasfilm that cant stop sucking off the concept of "backstory". I 300% guarantee that if they make this movie and keep the plot 100% in what they establish as "present time," like no scene removes the audience from the current time to watch a scene set at a previous time. If they keep the mention of the past to just dialogue and focus on writing a movie that is being propped up by trying to lazily connect the audience to characters through childhood trauma, it will do well. If you want Rey's backstory watch the Sequels. If they put even a single scene of Rey backstory in this movie, it will unquestionably label, Kathleen Kennedy, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and any other writer or producer attached to this movie as very stupid and bad dum-dums. Acolyte would have still sucked if it was made with all white people. It wouldn't have sucked if they had committed to telling a story about a sith assassin in the midst of their training and not some dumb, baby sob story about how she was kind of recruited but not really.
