Kevin Levrone should be included as well. His ability to compete, stop training for months and then put on muscle for the Mr Olympia in such a short span of time is stuff of legends.

Paul dillett is thr most gifted...Paul dillett 93 Pro Ironman...smallest joints on the widest shoulder set ever...thst is genetics..nothing else is genetics
Sergio should've been on here imo. I don't know how easy he put the muscle on, but the quality and insertions were imo top tier and still haven't been bested. He also claimed his brother who never made it out of Cuba was way bigger than he was.

@@Luke-do1ek There isn't a single bodybuilder that is more gifted than Flex Wheeler. This claim is backed up by scientists that studied Flex Wheeler. You wouldnt find another person in the history of bodybuilding with the same built as him.

Hi Nick - Love your videos. And I appreciate the thorough and thoughtful analysis of the sport, especially the respect given for the history and old school guys. On that note, your list has some conspicuous omissions, most notably Sergio “The Myth” Olivia who had crazy muscle mass and freaky proportions with an unbelievably small waist and joints. I also think Mike “Heavy Duty” Mentzer deserves an honorable mention on your genetics list. Cheers.
Marc Lobliner did a video a couple years back on this and told a story that in the late 90’s when he was working for Weider he gave Kevin Levrone a ride somewhere about 12 weeks out from the Olympia and noticed Kevin had lost all his size, as it was known throughout his career he played in a rock band and would come off gear and not train for the majority of the offseason, losing his gains. 12 weeks later at the Olympia Kevin showed up onstage having gained something like 40 pounds of muscle, peeled, and placed top 3. I’d say that’s pretty wild genetics.
My s/o is 63, and has been slowly getting into bodybuilding since his total knee replacement in 2011. He's one of those lucky guys who put on muscle just living day to day. His doctor (back in the day) described him as a "heavily muscled man" before he ever decided to start weight training. The thing is, he's one of those genetically gifted men who didn't realize what he had, because he was always kind of heavy set. BTW, he was a collegiate wrestler until the top US collegiate wrestler at the time blew his knee out. The reason I mention all this is because when he started getting more serious about weight training, his testosterone levels were at the lowest levels of the norm for that test. Last year he decided to work out more (as much as he could and still work 12 hour shifts), and even more recently is lifting every day. He just went in for his yearly physical, and his T levels are now smack in the middle of norm for that test. No enhancements, just weight lifting. We've heard that lifting helps keep T levels up; he's a believer now. BTW too, he's looking at entering his first show this next year; problem being finding a trainer in our area that understands bb and isn't simply into fitness.
Channels like yours made bodybuilding great again. You can say that fitness youtube and influencer stuff is bullshit, but in my view that all helped to get a new focus on this sport. And your channel does it in the best way.
Too many weak points. Arnie was all chest, biceps, and calves. Great back and delta. So so triceps, and thighs that were too thin to match his upper body ( except 1974)
love watching this video after forcing my girl to watch the ronnie coleman documentary on netflix last night. nick, youve successfully turned someone who didnt give a shit about bodybuilding into a fan big enough to recognize all the names and accomplishments in this video. i dont know what it is about your videos that are so addictive but theyre simply that, addictive. i cant stop watching them and theyre about a subject i originally couldnt give a shit less about. keep it up, nicks strength and power signing out.
In no particular order: Paul Dillett, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lee Haney, Ronnie Coleman and Flex Wheeler. I still regard Lee Haney as the best Mr. O ever, I'm surprised how Nick often overlooks him over Yates and Coleman.
@Nick's Strength and Power I heard that Dorian Yates actually didnt have to train as much to put on muscle. Didnt he say he hit each body part once a week, and was only in the gym 4 days a week for like an hour each session? Looking at how big Dorian got, if he was only doing 4-one hour sessions a week he definitely deserves to be in the top 5 list for most genetically gifted for putting on muscle.
Surprised you didn't include Lee Priest. Photos of him as a teenager in comparison to any other teenage body builder comes down to genetics rather than steroid use. Lee was a beast from age 12-13 and got better every single year. His mass for his height was insane too.
That is a massive *load of muscle.* Phil Heath still looks natural, if he relaxes his legs, which is a huge bonus, because even muscle is more valued than pop-out parts that look too large in comparison to other parts of the body. Even proportions are extremely important in this sport.
I agree with all except your number 5. He's an honorable mention. Flex Wheelers conditioning was dynamic. You have to consider who he lost to. Definitely an uncrowned Mr. O. Most appreciated is your humility in what you do. I watch every time you press enter!
Nick, Nick Nick. Youre missing some greats in here, which imo are better than this list. 1. Lee priest - biggest arms proportional to body size ever, not too mention his muscle bodies were insane.
