  • This is a tea light holder that is inspired by a Victorian ink bottle. Its made from gluing together some walnut blanks. I make the shape of the ink bottle sand and stain with a dark oak colour, finishing with renaissance wax. After this I turn the piece around on the lathe and hollow the inside. I also create a rebate for a false bottom. This is held in by 4 brass petals
So what i have made here is a wooden holder for a small fire.....If you make a tea light holder don't light it and leave it unattended....Obviously
i do hope you enjoy the video and please feel free to comment
the music in the video is by my son Jacob

Turned out great Chris. Love the finish. Well it finally happened. I was rounding a bowl blank on the bandsaw this morning and slipped and got my finger. Nasty cut and chipped bone. 6 stitches and a tetanus shot. I will be OK and please be careful Chris.
