  • In 1986, Exidy released another kit for their popular Gun Game system featuring state of the art colors and images running on their 440 PCB system. An Industry FIRST, Chiller features a very gruesome torture chamber complete with blood and decapitations and in graveyard scene, frontal nudity, WAY ahead of any other arcade or home games in terms of violence! Some arcades refused to have them in location! Watch and Learn everything about this game!

In the graveyard level, shooting the moss off of the tombstone reveals the letters “VIC”. Vic Tolomei is one of the programmers at Exidy who worked on Chiller. Fun Easter egg!

I remember playing this in an arcade in the 80s when I was a kid and it kinda made me feel queezy. Doom did the same thing when it came out. We’re all immune to violence nowadays. It doesn’t even phase us. I only saw it once in person must be a pretty rare game. I never see them on eBay either. Nice score for Mark in Canadaaaaaa!

I remember downloading this game for mame in the summer of 2005, before that the only shooter I played on it was operation wolf. The first time i played it the only thing I thought was “what kind of sick people made this game in 87?”

Really cool! We have one here at a Barcade in NYC. Exidy and their games have such an interesting history, I remember first seeing this cabinet at a Carnival somewhere when I was younger and being surprised at how gory it was for an arcade game.

    1. one hopes someday they come up with an alternative way to shoot LCD screens since that gun doesn't work on LCD screens only CRT 's :( (ack Duck Hunt.. Dead as a doornail. 2. wait I can't say f*** ing sh** over a game more violent than mortal kombat :O well sh**. and now I can say shit because Trump did :P so of course only one thing for it. a repeat link , oh and that coffee is coming should be there by fri-sat. just watch out for really big Musky's :P Someday maybe I'll go back there, but we stayed at a cabin on the LCO lake. (again land owned on an indian reservation so one can only do certain things to cabins.. well that was the rules in the late 90's . don't know what they are now.. ) now back to 7 words. besides as many times as dads actually swore in the past few weeks vs gutter language. I'd rather be fu**ing shit :P th-cam.com/video/kyBH5oNQOS0/w-d-xo.html

Did I hallucinate, or was there an option to shoot off a bikini from a girl? I swore there was nudity at some point in the game.

This was a 1980s rip-off of Michael Jackson's "Thriller". It was kind of a lame, cheesy game!

Which is the original Chiller gun? The big one in this video or the smaller “mini-shotgun” type?
