Been waiting for our new MG4 for a few months - the ideal EV hatchback for city duties!
Wanted to order one in 2022. Was announced towards June 2023 and deposit placed just before the Victorian Government decided to continue their anti EV policy and cut the ZEV subisdy.
Test driven in August, colour choice change to Brixton Blue (from Volcano Orange) and delivered in Victoria 16.9.2023. Made up this short video with our experience!

The blue is very nice. I am ordering a essence 64 this week but I am going for white.
We changed our mind from orange, to white, to blue - but I'd be happy with any of them! The white looks good with the black contrast.

@@Sensei_Sifu_ pricing of the Seal will be critical. Highlander facelift model 3 has a bump in price so that creates a bit of room for Seal to slide in (lol) underneath it.

Music about as annoying as the moped going past. Much rather listen to you as your explaining, than competing with the music. Couldn’t watch it all only on mute. Good quality pic. Nice presentation, shame about the overlaying music. Hope you enjoy the car.👍
Agreed. The music would be more suitable for POV driving without any talking
Thanks for the feedback, yes others have mentioned the bg music was too loud. Still learning how this whole video editing thing works, it's harder than I thought! Will take into account for the next video.

The blue is stunning, going to go for that when I purchase too. Honestly the wheel covers look much more premium on the Excite than the Essence to me
The 17" Excite wheel covers look better than the alloy wheels underneath I reckon! But the Essence 18" wheel covers aren't too bad either - unsure what the 18" Essence alloy wheels look like underneath the plastic.

@@MUFC1933 Very much unsure how Australian Excite and Essence spec translates to UK. Gas hood struts I think will be necessary if/when someone comes out with a frunk tub - I use the frunk quite a lot in my tesla to transport food and potentially messy things!

Gotta say the new Kia Niro EV (and Hyundai Kona EV) looks awesome, but pretty expensive, asking Model Y money. The MG4 would be a size smaller than those cars too, but it's a perfect little city EV, very happy with it so far.

MG4 delivery times in Australia are all over the place. Seems like in Qld you can do a test drive, put a deposit down and drive away in less than a week. Victoria apparently is the slowest at the moment in terms of deliveries. I would recommend to contact your dealer, and an alternative is to ask if there are any other colours or specifications available for an earlier delivery date (if you're flexible with these options). We were offered red, black, grey or orange 2 weeks earlier than our blue was was delivered. Good luck!

Didn't ask about a towbar, but a few other people on the fb group ( link via mg4.com.au) have enquired about it. Apparently a 500kg tow weight is possible, but it's not something I can vouch for yet.

What charging cable do you need when some charging stations you need to have your own cable?

I bought the same car from the same dealer as you, except mines Camden Grey colour, had it a week, what a dream machine, i test drove an 80k Tesla model y before the MG, the Tesla was terrible, all hype, the MG 4 felt faster, and half the price, bargain 😊
No doubt the base model mg4 is incredible value - went for a drive out to the Yarra Valley yesterday, and it feels as good as my model 3 to drive (maybe even better? 😀)

Nice have the uk equivalent, sound daft but how noisy is the A/C?
Erm... the noise of air through the vents? No noisier than any other car. However, with the car locked and remote air con turned on, you'll hear a lot more aircon compressor noise - but I reckon that's because there's no noisy petrol engine to mask the sound.
@@bozugarage yeah through vents it’s the same, but outside when running all of the uk cars are very load.
Congratulations on the new MG4! I'm looking forward to your video on how to install a dash cam on the MG4. It would also be nice to see how you do the car details video as well.
Planning to install the dashcam this weekend and video up next week about it. Essential to have, especially with the terrible drivers in Melbourne. Car detailing will take a day or two to complete and depends on the weather as well

I've been happy with Viofo in the past but i'm looking at the Aliexpress ones that fit into the mirror and light fittings.
@@leonkernan I just installed a RedTiger 4k front/rear into the MG4 a few days ago but the video editing will take quite a while. I have a Viofo in my Subaru which has been functioning fine. I've seen the Aliexpress one which would look good if integrated well, however the big plastic surround at the rear mirror I think is different between LHD and RHD
