Assembling cheap Amazon smoker at moment, you answered my question of should I put gasket in between the assembly of firebox, I can see eighth inch gap through it! I see that's how you assembled yours! Off to order some gasket tape thank you
I did my Oklahoma Joe’s like that you know what I found afterwards I do with them and I left one alone with just a fire basket in the grade blow it to give it air below it, but it never worked right after I insulated that but the other one ran flawlessly at 2:25 to 250 all day long as soon as I did that insulation thing I couldn’t get it balance
Tried this but removed all the bricks except for the bottom one. You want the charcoal lifted and you don't want to restrict airflow. The bricks actually go better on the far end of the barrel because it balances the heat.
Hello! Old hand saw as these fire bricks we from vermiculite board, application for modern wood stoves. Come in big boards that you can hand cut to size. Thanks for watching 👍

Will definitely make it easier to control temps and makes fire last a lot longer.
👍👍👍

Did you test this vs. A fire box?
What did you used to cut the fire bricks?
They make masonry blades for chop saws or skill saws

Fair attempt but could be way better😅
Just playing around with leftover wood.
Can you tell me what you used to adhere the firebrick to the interior of the firebox
Hello! Simply cut them to a snug fit. Also made groves in the back to slide into metal folds. Very lightweight material. Thanks for watching 👍
