One piece of advice I received when I got a front loader was to dry the inside of the rubber seal with a cloth after you are done using your washing machine (which sometimes seams like never because I'm always doing laundry!). It is not foolproof, but I do believe it has helped prevent mold and smells from getting out of hand.
BE SURE TO READ YOUR MACHINE'S MANUAL before cleaning! I have a Bosch compact front loader and the manual says to never use chlorine bleach as it may damage the machine - my old Bosch machine even said using chlorine bleach would void the warranty. No big deal for me, I never use the stuff anywhere - but it would suck to have something go wrong and then be told I had no recourse because of a cleaner I used. If I have mold or mildew, I use an enzymatic cleaner. And I run the drum clean cycle with the OxiClean washing machine cleaner, which works great.
Leave door and draw open between washes to significantly reduce mould and bacteria. Also a powder detergent containing oxygen bleach will kill mould and bacteria both in the machine and the washing, washing powder also doesn't promote bacteria growth in the machine. There's an informative video titled the hygenic benefits of using taed.
You shared a product on instagram before, a black liquid that cleans mould from a front load washing machine. Do you still recommend that? (I forget what it's called)

This video is about 10 years to late, but thank god it’s here now

I leave my door open after washing a load to allow it to dry. Helps tremendously.

Doesn't hearing her voice motive you? I enjoy that. Although I don't have a front loader.. I think I'll do my frig. Thanks Sarah. 😊
Extremely helpful! Thanks Miss Sarah!
You are so welcome!
My seal is a little moldy. I've been putting off cleaning it, but after watching this, I'm ready! Thank you.
You can do it!
Make sure you always keep your washer door and detergent drawer open between washes

Hi Sarah! Love the video and tips. How often would you recommend doing this?
Thanks!
At least once a month!
The drain clean out at the bottom? And gooey filter?.....
This is my Sunday! For hard water do I vinegar one day then bleach another after a cycle?
Here's a tip:put the detergent drawer in your dishwasher! It then gets cleaned in every crevice.
We have the exact same washer, thankful for these tips
Yup, I am due to do this again this week, set up a reminder in my phone. Do you have a video for dryers as well?
Not yet, we will add it to our filming list
What is the best way to clean a dryer? Same thing?
It's like you heard my husband and I talking about this! Maybe this is what I'll do when the baby goes down for his nap
Haha I promise we aren't spying on you. We just know the trouble spots in most homes. If you have a stinky washer you are not alone.

You must mean this? It's a great product but so hard to get. Currently sold out.
@@gocleanco You can order Glass Guard directly from the company!
What rubber gloves do you use? They look great, I’ve been trying some but find they aren’t waterproof for more than a day 😢
Honestly these are just grocery store brand, maybe that is something we should test. Because you are right there is nothing worse than a leaky glove.
@@gocleancoi had the same question, looking for good heavy duty gloves
I really like the Mr clean 2 pack that food lion sells
Ugh...i need to do this again...I've been putting it off
Laundry sanitizer and a self clean cycle do wonders once a week.
And finish it off by cleaning your machine's filter. You can wash your appliance all you want but if the filter is dirty, all tha effort won't do much
How do you figure that you can't mix bleach & Vinegar?
When you mix bleach and vinegar you create a chlorine gas. Which causes respiratory issues. Coughing, wheezing, burning of the eyes, nose and throat.
@@gocleanco I mic bleach & viniger, never had any problems

I'm literally panicking about the damage the bleach will do to the next few rounds of laundry...
