Hi Rogina. Nice video. Here is some helpful information: 1) In the center of the Agitator Tube is a screen. That screen is removable. The screen pulls straight up; although, it is quite difficult the first time because it is caked in there with soap scum. I would suggest pouring lots of boiling water over the screen to melt away some of the hardened soap (using a bottle brush helps remove some of the soap too). The screen is removable because when servicing the washer there is a bolt beneath the screen that gets removed. 2) Regarding your statement that your tub is movable: Generally, all top-loading washers have a tub that moves around. The tub is suspended in the mid-air with four suspension support rods/springs. Their function is to keep the tub balanced while it spins.
this was so satisfying to watch , im in the process of cleaning a washer that was given to me. it’s definitely like 5+years old and there’s a lotttt of gross, hard, crusty, waxy, dirty laundry detergent & my agitator is filled to the top with fabric softener for some reason. so i will definitely be doing this tonight lol
I just did mine, they were just given to me and five years old. They had an extreme amount of fabric softener buildup and I couldn't believe the wax that came off in the bleach!

Honestly this isn’t very effective for machines that are truly dirty and grimy. I didn’t even see a ring. This would’nt be effective for any of that. This is just more a disinfectant. But if you had taken the tub out and grime had been all inside, it would’ve likely still been there after the bleach soak. The best things to truly break down scum mold and filth are oxy clean used with washing soda, borax, sodium phosphate (TPI) and or the washing tablets which are kinda made up of some of these very ingredients. This is what breaks built up grime down well. Your machine still looked pretty good actually. But I suggest getting some tablets vs wasting four cups of bleach. I’ve also heard the dishwasher dish tablets also work. I haven’t tried but they do look just like the washing machine tablets so they could very well be similar.

Yes. You want to make sure you do a complete cycle with bleach then a complete cycle with vinegar so they do not mix
Any suggestions for something to use instead of bleach? I have a septic system so I try to avoid bleach, vinegar is safe though!
You can try 2 cycles with vinegar.

Top loaders are nasty. Needs to be an easier way to get to the inner tub. That is where the real funk starts.
