Thank you for such an informative video Dr Babak, my daughter has an adenoma on her parathyroid. She is still on the waiting list since a year, Her PTH levels are 19 now. I am worried as her Vitamin D is at 41 and her endocrinologist has prescribed 800 IU'S for her. I wish I could bring her to you but you are obviously too far and your charges need to be taken into account. I am petrifies, I wish I could get it done privately but it costs £7,000 .

17:44 pth leading to heart disease. I actually am pretty sure it's the decrease in calcium that leads to heart disease: pretty logical, given that calcium is what drives the contraction of the heart. Low calcium, weak contraction.
Nutrient profile of heart disease patients the one nutrient that the most were low on intake was calcium
Nutrient Intake in Heart Failure Patients, 2008
Since high PTH leaches the bones.
Calcium intake also correlates with muscle mass, another indicator. Sarcopenia is associated with heart failure.
"...risk of phosphorus insufficiency rises...should receive at least some of their calcium co-therapy in the form of a calcium phosphate preparation."

You are right in a normal circumstance. In the setting of hyperparathyroidism, the high calcium causes aberrant signal conduction in the heart, the high PTH causes thickening and inefficient contraction of heart muscles. Very different mechanisms than normal parathyroid function.

My calcium level was 2.99 two days ago than 3L IV Fluids given to me now it's 7.2 as kidney function normal and all blood test ECG chest x-ray normal only PTH is 13 so is there any serious issue or it will b recovered as I was taking vitamin D3 tablets iu 1000 from last 2 months.

What about radiation exposure to your neck, like I had roughly 30 yrs ago (after keloid scar removal). Administered by a well known plastic surgeon here in the state of NJ, at a well known Hospital. 58 yr old male, recently diagnosed with one adenoma on the same side as the radiation therapy! Osteopenia and reduced kidney function (stage 1 CKD). Parathyroidectomy next week. Considered hiring a lawyer, but since my doctors do not suspect or see any signs of malignancy, I'll probably let it go. 🤔 Oh, BTW the radiation therapy was a complete failure! The keloid returned even bigger!

That could certainly be the cause. Radiation exposure is one of the known causes of hyperparathyroidism

@@LarianMD Thanks for your reply. Yes I've seen several medical documents and government publications that all confirm this. The thing the struck me most, is that they say the average latency period before the tumor is detected is "30 years!". They also mentioned that it tends to effect the parathyroid glands in particular (more than the thyroid). Well, my surgery was successful, blood work in normal range and other than my voice still raspy, I'm feeling very well in general. Thankfully, I'm in the 99% group (benign)! 🙏🏾 I did contact a few attorneys and presented my information and the documentation that I discovered linking radiation treatment and parathyroid tumors, however, they declined to pursue the case due to the timeframe and difficulty it would be (even though my recent diagnosis falls into the "Discovery Rule"). So although they recognize the validity of my case, they do not think it would be worth the time and expense to pursue. The most important thing is that I'm on the road to better health and I'm extremely fortunate and thankful that I have a great doctor who picked up on this when he did (I just started seeing him a few years ago and get an annual physical). Keep up the good work with your videos, educating the general public on the various medical conditions that we face. Thanks again Doctor!
