Have you ever tried the pin stitch for a start with one thread? It was a game changer for me…I use it all the time now. Not as easy to end a thread though so I just it run under nearby stitches. Online tutorials abound…give it a try!
Thanks for the company! The colors/floss on emaline are so pretty. I appreciate the starting/stopping tips for blackwork. That was my biggest struggle on my recent blackwork piece. Also, moths and the moon is looking so good, and glad you’re liking the poison apple tree!
Thanks for the mention! And I didn't know about the two strands vs 1 strand for blackwork! I ended up using 2 strands for everything and I agree Elizabeth it's a wonderful pattern and everyone even a little interested in blackwork will love it!
So fun to watch you girls! As others have said, European Cross Stitch Company is THE BEST place for Chstelaine supplies. I just finished the White Nights in St Petersburg Chatelaine (you can see it on my latest Flosstube), but I somehow lost one of the cubes. I contacted Cindy to see if she had one I could purchase, and she sent it to me free of charge! She is the best. Your girls trip sounded like so much fun! Thank you for sharing your friendship and love of stitching with all of us.❤
Love your videos and seeing all of the amazing projects! European Cross Stitch Company sells floss and bead packs for Chatelaines! I’ve heard some of the called for crystals can be hard to come by. This is the company many recommend to get them 😊
Yes!! Still mulling over my fabric choice. I think I want something with a little more depth than the called for, but I don’t want it to overtake the pattern.
Hiding out in a yurt for a week and stitching sounds like the most glorious thing ever. As long as there was indoor plumbing, that is. I’m not much of a “roughing it” gal. 😂 Another great episode and just what I needed this evening 💜
Been with you all most of today and I am not mad about it. I love What We Do in the Shadows! So sad this will be the last season. Steph, from Lake Girl Stitches has an active FlossTube. She is the best!!!
Just an idea on your lacing/framing. Instead of cardboard, use comic book cardboard. It is similar to matte board and much thinner than cardboard. It holds up to the lacing technique and can be colored on with markers to match your fabric. 100 boards will run about $18 and can be used for so much. I use it for all my backing material. Ornaments, flat folds, stand ups, anything really. I very much enjoy your videos. My newest obsession. 🧡🧡
Wonderful job ladies! By the way, for the Chatelaine, your best resource will be European Cross Stitch Company (ECC). It’s a US company run by a very nice lady named Cindy who worked personally with Martina on sourcing materials for her and putting together these kits for her customers. So, when many of these crystals or thread colors were discontinued, she has been able to provide accurate substitutes because she knows what the original materials were. ECC has 2 sales every year and their last sale for this year is going on right now. It’s 10% off and the sale will end Nov 15. So get the bead pack from her. 😉👉👉
Always, always, have such a good time with you ! thank you for an entertaining and informative video. For future use if needed, google "offset picture frame clips"... when your frame is "overstuffed", you can replace the clips on the back with clips with a little "step" to accommodate thicker stuff. best wishes xoxo
Yay… you started Inspired by Nature. Duxbury looks so good! I’m just about done with the green section on mine. Emaline looks stunning… can’t wait to see more ❤
I just got a kit from Les Brodeuses Parisiennes too! If you don't know the website french needle, I highly recommend it for all the beautiful fancy projects!
I loved seeing your 100 circles! I just started my first blackwork project today and I agree it is so satisfying and you get into a rhythm. Im doing the Momma Sea Dragon bookmark from Flossy Fox and I ordered a HUGE blackwork temperature chart from Exlibrist that I need to find fabric for and get started on. I still love my Xstitch projects but blackwork is a nice change of pace.
👋🏻 I would love to know who the fabric advent calendar panel is by please. Thank you. Love your Flosstube, the projects you stitch and your haul of course.
2 questions for Elizabeth...1. did you match your drink to your sweater on purpose? 2. Can you just drop the bottom band of seasons off the whole thing?
Great episode! "Shared hyperfocus!" This is gold and exactly what we've been finding stitching together 🥰 Technical question... Elizabeth, on your Christmas sampler, the individual snowflakes and to avoid seeing the traveling thread at the back, could you stitch them all and then go back through (on the back side) and cut the traveled thread to sew them in? Or is that too risky and your stitch may come loose?
LOVE LOVE LOVE your podcast!! Such a hoot! Advice please! I’m doing Owlforest mushroom hunters but need an alternative fabric in 14ct Aida. Any suggestions on color for this and where to purchase it? (I can’t work on linen-too small!)😂 Julie
It depends on what you’re looking for! For solids, I like NPI. for variegated, Caron water lilies. And pirate robin has really been expanding her silk line. That said, I am very new to silk!

Next time we see you, remind me and I’ll bring 100 circles so you can see my weirdo start. :)

Glad we could brighten your day. 💚
So many beautiful WIPs! Enjoyed this video so much 🥰

It’s just always such a fun ride! Thank you.

Steph is awesome, and so generous! Join us in Red Deer! I’m starting the Gervais swan in December
Aaaaah! Too many beautiful things!! :D

Almost out of fingers 😢😢😮😮😀👌😁😁😁

Yes to indoor plumbing! I can’t imagine Caroline accepting anything else.
THIS ONE'S THE BEST ONE YET 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Great video ladies love the glasses all the stitching is so fabulous 😊
She’s so cute in glasses. 😍
WOOOOO
Crocodiles are both freshwater and saltwater in Australia. Saltys are the really big ones that Steve Irwin used to catch.
Good to know! Also terrible to know, since it means nowhere is safe. :p

Amazed at how fast you are moving through Hawk Run Hallow.
It’s terrifying. I don’t know how she’s so fast! I can never keep up with Caroline once she’s set her mind on something.
I LOVE it!
It was so fun to meet all of you! Caroline, your progress on Emaline is amazing! She’s looking gorgeous.

It’s so fast paced and fun! A perfect break for when cross stitch has your eyes crossing….
Elizabeth, can we please get a tutorial on that blackwork start and stop?! I love when you show that project but I’m too intimidated to start!!
Ooh it’s so much easier than you think! I’ll see what I can do. I’m so bad about sitting down and filming tutorials.
Love you ladies ! What is the bobbin thing you all were talking about at the end with the spools? And something about something popping off
Caroline bought some fancy silks on bobbins, and none of us knew that the tops pop off to make them easier to use. So neat!
@ well I didn’t either. I will have to try that when I get home. Please demonstrate in your next video in case I can’t figure it out. 😜

P.S. Elizabeth! Come to Stitch Con with me!
Haha somebody got to take her, we’re scared
Next year! This year my daughter is graduating. 🥲
2 questions for Elizabeth...1. did you match your drink to your sweater on purpose? 2. Can you just drop the bottom band of seasons off the whole thing?
Hahah she would definitely match her drink to her outfit
1. No, but I will now!
2. Yeah but then I’d know Jacob WON.
@@Elizabeth-pj5if hahaha! Can't have that!
Great episode!

Too risky is exactly correct! Plus the ends would still need to be woven in, and this way I have a nice long tail to do that with.
@Elizabeth-pj5if thanks for answering. That makes a lot of sense. The long tail would be helpful for something so tiny and precise!

Oh man! I think dubloon, by picture this plus would be lovely.
Thank you so very much for the suggestion! I’ve been looking and looking! I’ll check it out. Many thanks! 😊
The doubloon is perfect!! It’s on the way. BTW just finished the pickle one! So fun to stitch. I also grabbed Owlforest Fox Forest! God Bless!
