Unusual Work is an amazing achievement name and the 2nd best Oddjob pun after only Dr Evil having a Henchman called Random Task who throws shoes.

The most impressive part of this whole playthrough is his ability to recall things from playing this as a kid

@@RubyRoks I took utmost joy just cheating with infinite health and all enemies with rocket launchers. Just all the screaming and friendly fire was great
not 2 minutes in, and we've already got an NPC running straight through a wall. we're in for a treat.

GoldenEye was such a huge part of my childhood. I remember family get togethers and we'd play 4 player split-screen for hours together. (this and a WCW game) Proximity matches were probably my favorite because of the chaos of it all. One of my all time favorites. It's always a joy seeing someone else have the same love for it.
When Ray said “ fellas you can just come on in” I visibly cheered.

I loved the game as a kid. Even bought the book to try and beat the bonus missions. Multiplayer with this and Tomorrow Never Dies were family game nights. So much fun. So much nostalgia.
As someone who only played Perfect dark, the spiritual successor to this - it’s wild to see the same basic core elements here. Also, a TON of assets are reused in Perfect dark (sounds, movement animations, etc). Wild shit.
That game though was more bold and ambitious compared to Golden Eye in my opinion - I mean, it included full voice acting! And I think it required that 8 MB RAM expansion pack haha 😂. Really pushed the N64 to its limit.
I remember playing this at the store as a kid. The other kids couldn’t beat the first level. None of us had seen Goldeneye, so when I managed to beat it, I guessed from the objective to bungee jump that I needed to jump off the bridge.
When it displayed the mission ending cinematic, everyone, myself included, thought I had beaten the level, only to screw it up at the end. Then we realized I had actually beat it. We were amazed that jumping off is what we were supposed to do.
Like I said, none of us had seen the movie. I actually bought the game and beat it before I saw the movie.

That was THE Multiplayer game for me back in the day. So many hours spend sitting there, making shit up and shooting each other (in game).

I should really try this with a mouse and keyboard. Only time I've played it is the Xbox remaster and the controls havent aged well 😅
Sort of related but if anyone has any passing interest in speedrunning or the work that goes into it, I found watching videos on the behind-the-scenes of speedrunning Goldeneye to be really interesting.
If you wanna speedrun Goldeneye, then you'd better start hating it.
Why was Oddjob tiny in the game? In the movie he’s like 6 feet tall.

The N64 version of this game has aged like milk the controls are so awful
