This speedrun has taught me that Psyduck is the fastest Pokemon in the game, but only when it's walking on ice. This was fantastic, chaotic, and a barrel of laughs from start to finish.
Andy finding the hammer after an hour of trying to climb death mountain and patty subsequently collapsing from laughter was the highlight of the run for me
Watching this live was a special treat. Patty on the couch, it's a randomizer run, AND the crowd and Twitch are all trying to throw everything they can to trip up Andy, from swapped/reversed buttons and ice movement physics to instadeath and cucco storms of hell. What's not to love about this hellish and chaotic run? P.S. the Pug Link sprite is probably the most adorable custom sprite that *needs* to be a prize perler in the upcoming GDQs. Make it happen
This is one of the most entertaining things I have watched from any GDQ. I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe in so many different spots in the video!
I have seen this run like 5 times and it is amazing. The crowd reactions, Andy's frustration at times and the good cause the marathon was put on for..WELL DONE ANDY!!
the Andy and Paddy Combo never ceases to amaze, great it was brought back for this and hoping they will bring them back for SGDQ :P also, the crwod LOVED THIS, crowd Control runs Need to be a much bigger thing
CC being allowed to instakill at any given time is probably the worst thing about the system. Everything else is 10/10, especially the couch's chemistry with Andy.
At least the cost of it goes up every time so it becomes harder to spam. would be cool if there where more positive affects as well like a intent screen wide monster kill, temporary invulnerability, ect.
After watching this, I want to see Crowd Control have fun with PJ on an awful block game. Just think how fun it'd be, just put Patty on a couch with other people from Team Poor Life Choices.
So having seen the wall disappearing when Andy died in the desert palace . . . is that something y'all could manipulate to make actual speed tech from? Like, make it there with a fairy and intentionally die to somehow get rid of the wall without lighting the torches? It would be interesting to see, even if it didn't ultimately save much time, if for no other reason than to serve as tech for randomizers.
Speaking of Parallel Worlds, I was never much of a Zelda fan as a kid, so once I finally decided to play a Zelda game for the first time, I played Parallel Worlds as my first Zelda. I have since played pretty much every Zelda game but yeah... Parallel Worlds was my introduction to the Zelda games.
I'm going to argue that you CAN speedrun a randomizer. The Minecraft community showed us how. Speedrunning Minecraft involves choosing a particularly fast seed to start with, then it's mostly execution. Speedrunning a LTTP rando would be similar, you get to choose your seed in advance and know that seed, so picking one with a particularly fast layout would be part of the game.
I don't think there's an argument here at all. Like Andy said, you can actually speedrun anything. When it comes to randomizers, in fact, knowing the seed isn't even necessary. Take any game with any random elements at all. There are many games that are very popular to speedrun that have random factors that the player has no control over -- even in LTTP vanilla. How low your time is will be based on a combination of those random factors, your skill, and your adaptability and knowledge of the game. The LTTP randomizer community actually frequently has tournaments of races where all the participants of a round get the same seed. Who wins is sometimes up to chance, but usually the winner is just Andy or Patty because of how good they are at the game.
Love this run. Can anyone explain what causes the glitch in PoD where when he goes down to the conveyor/spike room, it pushes him to the next screen and he can't move? I'm not sure what causes it.
@@ventuskitsune4257 So, the way the game works is that every room has an index/value and when you transition from one to the next, it either adds or subtracts a number from the current index to get to the appropriate index of the room you are transitioning to. The same thing happens when you open a chest: It checks what index that chest has and gives you the effect that is associated with it. However, as the game is incapable of handling such a request at the same time as another effect happens, like drinking a potion (this is the YBA glitch), dying, being revived, etc., it can set the value to one that is incorrect, causing completely weird stuff to happen. This weird stuff can either happen immediately or after some time, which is what happened in PoD.
Most of the time, old games tend to be running on consoles that had very limited processing power, making them incapable of handling several requests simultaneously. This is why in ALttP, the game freezes (enemies don't move for example) whenever you screen transition, die, be revived, open a chest, etc. Because of this, it is normally not possible to die while opening a chest or transition between rooms (because of the processing limitation), so dying during such an event causes behavior that is completely unintended. Andy shows a bunch of these glitches in his Swordless GDQ run a few years ago.
It is also often caused due to oversights by the programmers. Especially the first generation Pokémon games (and second generation as well) has tons of oversights that causes lots of problems. Another example is that many old games are unable to correctly process two opposite D-pad buttons being pressed simultaneously, as it should be physically impossible to press them both, thus this scenario was never implemented. You can see the wonky stuff this does by watching a TAS speedrun of Zelda 2 for example.
Can they do this to PJ while he runs Super Ghouls n' Ghosts? That would be hilarious. Like being able to take away armor, forced weapon swaps, and instant deaths.

I'm glad to see mostly good reception and comments about this run :) makes me happy knowing we put on a good show
You’re always entertaining at marathons. This run WAS fueled by your suffering, but we still love you
Easily in the top 10 best GDQ runs of all time.
you did great on this run :D
Seriously. This was absolutely delightful. Hope y'all come back for this again!
One of the best runs I've ever seen. So damn entertaining amazing group!
This is the 5th time I've fallen asleep and woken up in the morning to be in the middle of this video
Imagine my confusion when I click expecting a normal speed run and immediately see Tingle get out of bed and die
this is still the top run at any GDQ that was pure chaos and we all love patty
Psyduck: AND THIS IS TO GO EVEN FURTHER BEYOND!!!
*becomes intangible for 30 seconds
39:51
39:42
Wish more runs were like this. Between the small friendly banter, the crowd, and the overall mood it was real fun to listen to.
I always love Andy and his group (especially Patty) but damn this crowd control aspect was next level.
Paddy is the reason why I watch LTTP runs.
I love the banter between Patty and Andy. They're super entertaining
Andy's patience for this is nothing short of heroic
This speedrun has taught me that Psyduck is the fastest Pokemon in the game, but only when it's walking on ice.
This was fantastic, chaotic, and a barrel of laughs from start to finish.
I didn't know one of Psyduck's abilities was Slush Rush
“Andy made a mistake by being good at this game.” TRUUUUUU
Andy finding the hammer after an hour of trying to climb death mountain and patty subsequently collapsing from laughter was the highlight of the run for me

Words can't express how excited I was when I saw Patty on the couch
This run really makes me upset I missed the event live. Thank you for putting all of these on TH-cam and I do my best to share the videos and events.
I would've rage quit after the third flock of Cuccos, the sheer determination by Andy is amazing.
You know it's gonna be somethin else when they put the game over screen in the thumbnail.
This is one of the most entertaining things I have watched from any GDQ. I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe in so many different spots in the video!
timestamp of spots you've laughed at plz
Probably the most entertaining thing I've ever seen, at the very least in the last several years.
loved this run. good chemistry and godlike performance :D
Wow! This has to be the best run of LTTP I've seen in a long LONG time! Awesome job Andy and "Couch"... you know who you are!
I have seen this run like 5 times and it is amazing. The crowd reactions, Andy's frustration at times and the good cause the marathon was put on for..WELL DONE ANDY!!
So far this is my favorite run this year and funniest couch/player chemistry - you all were HILARIOUS
When I started I didnt think I would watch the whole thing. But I did and Im glad I did! Hope some day I can be live at a GDQ event! Keep it up!
A shame double Ganon didn't work, but this was otherwise a very fun run. Thanks to the devs for this hack and thanks to Andy for putting up with it!
This is an amazing rando. Great work to the rando team and amazing job by the warp world guys amazing crowd control
Hands down one of the best runs ive ever watched! Andy you're the man!!!!
The crowd control thing was such a fun idea! Loved this.
I have been playing this game for years. I only JUST NOW realized that the wizard is wearing a hat. I swore that was his face.
Same here. When the couch mentioned "the wizard with a hat that looks like a face" I was like, "Huh?"
Total mind flip!
This looks so f*cking fun! All of it, the game, the runner, the couch, the crowd. This is what gaming is all about
What an incredible and hilarious run! Thanks y'all :)
This is like a great sequel to that previous Zelda run that Andy did while being heckled by Patty.
Chat: I can't believe Andy is over estimate!
Also Chat: Haha OHKO button go brrrrr
This is such a cool concept. And these commentators are hilarious together
Andy is a beast! Took this punishment in stride! Love it
"THIS IS TO GO EVEN FURTHER BEYOND!" *DBZ tier screamingly*
This killed me and I don't even LIKE Super Saiyan 3.
Two years late but oh my is this beautiful to watch. The commentary and Andy’s patience are truly a sight to behold.
Patty will always be my favorite couch
the Andy and Paddy Combo never ceases to amaze, great it was brought back for this and hoping they will bring them back for SGDQ :P
also, the crwod LOVED THIS, crowd Control runs Need to be a much bigger thing
Are they just good friends or something? I haven't seen any of either of their streams.
That was fantastically entertaining, thanks guys!
This is the best couch banter ive ever heard on gdq
I enjoyed every damn second
2:49:04 for reference for the funniest Patty moment of the run
That and the Pitter patter feet sound
That was CC's first GDQ run with Andy and ALTTP. So one down! One ha-ha-haaa
I wish one of the crowd control modifications was 'make everything act like a bumper'. :0
That would be absolutely EVIL with ice physics
this is my favorite run from all the years of gdq, great fun :D
This speedrun in a nutshell:
One pug/shiny Psyduck/Zero Suit Samus/Twinkle with the Master Sword vs the world. Literally.
Great couch, runner and crowd. EmoSaru had me in stitches several times XD
I can't believe this was 4 years ago!!!
This is older them my kids!
I remember watching it live!
The banter during this play through is amazing
Really entertaining! Such a great event in general!

"If you're not prepared..." at 6:44 is still my favorite moment 🤣
Andy and Patty is the dream team. What this is all about!
The Legend of Zelda: A Psyduck to the Past
After watching this, I want to see Crowd Control have fun with PJ on an awful block game. Just think how fun it'd be, just put Patty on a couch with other people from Team Poor Life Choices.
This is the most hilarious run I've seen
Rewatching this and it’s just as hilarious and outrageous as when I caught it live
Appreciated.
Andy is a hero
That was so freaking funny. I really want to go to a gdq now.
This was amazing.
That psyduck death sprite is CURSED.
The timing of the donation at 1:40:48 is perfect
39:50 Ultra Instinct Psyduck

So much fun to watch ☺️
I have a theory that nightmares are just your normal life but with crowd control randomizer
It's 2024. Where's my bug net?!
Best run of this AGDQ
No way 4 years 🥲
Man Andy it makes me sad I missed it. I'd have loved to help summon more chickens just like the regular one! Gotta keep that going!
2:49:32 is what you were looking for
2:46:58 The situation has only been made worse by the addition of yet more bees!
Of all the places to come across a Harry Partridge reference. XD
Absolute King of the Hover. Madness.
1:02:33 What can we say except you're welcome!
This is hilarious!
I love how 1 hour into the run he really doesn't even have anything useful to beat the game.
This, Super Metroid Impossible, and Fallout Anthology were my favourite
Great run
An absolute mad lad
I like how bees are like Pokemon in this game. You catch one and it fights for you.

The duck goes honk. Now that is a quote.
laughing so hard, I can't breathe.
need more crowd controlled games!!
I look away for a second, and the player sprite goes from Shiny Psyduck to Samus (at least I think it's Samus. It's at 43:38)
1:22:49 2+2 is 4 ... -1 that's 3 quick math
They need to bring this back
hey youtube, can you stop autoplaying this video? ive already seen it 4 times
we're on watch #6 now
coming back again #10
watch 15 when?
That room at 26:44 though.
Love this run.
Can anyone explain what causes the glitch in PoD where when he goes down to the conveyor/spike room, it pushes him to the next screen and he can't move? I'm not sure what causes it.
Part of it was due to the fairy reviving him in a manner where he really shouldn't be revived at, that's where all the glitches started happening.
@@ventuskitsune4257 So, the way the game works is that every room has an index/value and when you transition from one to the next, it either adds or subtracts a number from the current index to get to the appropriate index of the room you are transitioning to.

1:45:00
23:15 how does Psyduck flappy feet sounds like?
A new effect for crowd control that they should add is hearts hurt for 1 minute instead of heal.
So was it random to get the Sword in the beginning or is that still always there with those settings?
3:23:21 "Can you believe that Andy's about to be under estimate?"
*looks at title*
